Stopped by during our Glacier Going-to-the-sun drive. Enjoyed the menu options at this spot. The burger was 6/10- a bit dry and not too much flavor, but the huckleberry sauce on it was a nice addition. The andouille sausage was good, 7/10. Some flavor was missing but overall was satisfied with it. The slaw really topped it off though and that added a fresh element to it! Service was lovely, the food was just decent. Well-priced though! We did want to stop and get a beer but realized as we went in that they do not serve any alcohol until 5pm on weekdays due to reservation laws, totally understandable :) Wish we could've tried some of their drinks! read more

Stayed at the Village and ate here for dinner, ordered off the lunch menu as it's available all day. Just had the turkey sandwich on ciabatta and it was good, nothing special, but good. Third time here, still as good as I remember! The mac & cheese was kind of a hidden kids menu item, but the portion was really big and quite honestly it was the best part of the meal! Just enough cheese to noodle ratio, the noodles were al dente, it was so good. The Caesar was just a normal salad, nothing exceptional, but was not bad. The lodge is rustic & lovely. We were quickly seated by a big window. Emma, our waitress was personable & efficient. Known for huckleberry & they have pie, crisps & margaritas. The bison entrees, salads & chili look delicious. There were gluten free & vegan choices. I started with the pretty & delicious margarita. Our server was nice and the steak frites and schnitzel was great and hot. The bison chorizo quesadilla was very strong with the taco flavor and a lot of meat compared to the cheese in it, but was good overall to eat 1 slice to me (comes with 4). Unfortunately they just dropped off the food and left and our server didn't come, so after about 10m I had to go get her for sauce, salt/pepper and refills. She didn't come back until after we were finished but she was nice and knowledgeable. Dessert was also very tasty. The food and view are worth it if you are on this side of Glacier and want to sit and relax a while- You just may have to fetch your server for things but it's no biggie:) read more

After heading out early on the Going to the Sun Road, getting a late lunch at Snowgoose Grille fit the bill. This is a casual and rustic restaurant. I had the fried chicken sandwich with fries, and it was solid diner food. The fries were really good with a slightly crunchy exterior and not mushy inside. The chicken thigh was small but sufficient. Service was fairly quick in terms of placing the order and the food came out quickly. read more

After a long hike at Scenic Point, we were too tired to cook in our cabin and decided to stop at Saint Mary's lodge to have dinner. The food is very good, a bit on the pricey side. Lexi, our server, was friendly and helpful in giving recommendations on what to order. The place is a bit dark, but very spacious. We ordered a couple of appetizers, the artichoke/spinach dips served with chips, and cauliflower Buffalo. They were not bad. For the main menu, both meat dishes ordered were good, trout was alright. Overall, we don't mind coming again. Restaurant choices are kinda limited in the Eastern side of GNP. read more

if you go here, check if your meat is even cooking. When I first got served my sandwich, the chicken is got was only a quarter of the bun. So I asked if that's how it's served and he said no (laughed) so he took it back to the kitchen and came back 10 minutes later & same sandwich just added another piece of chicken. I took it to go & when I got home I noticed how the texture was off.. they sent me off with RAW chicken! the environment was very hostile. wouldn't recommend if you're First nations. The host wouldn't even talk to me or give me directions to the bathroom, she was very rude. kept her head straight and would just keep on walking. read more

We dined here twice because we loved it so much! The spaghetti amazing-- the white bean sauce was to die for! Generous portions, worth the price. Definitely try the spoiled huckleberry lemonade. Both servers we had were wonderful. They are rather busy, so it can be a little slow. Great view of the mountains as well! read more

The food was so great, we visited twice. Once for lunch, and another time for dinner. The windows are large. So you get an excellent view while eating. We saw a bear wandering down the river while we ate. It was kind of fun, everyone stood at the windows and watched the bear meander. Now to the food. I tried the roasted red pepper soup and the bison quesadilla. Both had excellent flavor. The portion sizes were generous, I should've only ordered the quesadilla by itself or split a meal with someone. I thought the soup was absolutely perfect, my mother felt like it was a little bit bland. It is not spicy, which is good to know for people who have a mild palette. The service was great. The restrooms were downstairs, I did not pay attention to whether or not there was an elevator. It is also located in a building that has a coffee shop, and a gift shop. It just kind of makes it some fun downtime to wander around and Middlebelt and see souvenirs or get a good coffee on your way out the door. read more

The restaurant is tucked in the back with nice views. We led to a corner table, our waitress Mackenzie was super nice. We didn't wait for too long but she was apologetic about the wait as she was serving others. We ordered the recommended Bison Quesadilla and picked strawberry salad both are awesome, I love the salad a lot (it's huge!). We also got a roasted pepper soup (the only soup option they had) which was a okay. Mackenzie also got us a complimentary huckleberry ice cream for the wait at the beginning, it was very tasty and we appreciate it too. read more

We stumbled in here for a bite to eat for lunch after a nice drive through the park. We honestly didn't even know there was a town on the other side of the park but man were we hungry. The staff seemed chaotic and busy but brought us to a nice table by the window. They warned us they were busy but the greeting was still a bit odd. I ordered a seltzer and the bison quesadilla. We also ordered the fried pickles to share, but they forgot to bring them out. My food was good, everyone around us got their food pretty quickly but ours seemed to take forever. My friend got the beet sandwich but it was pretty inedible. The focaccia wasn't even focaccia and it was sorta stale. It was an ok experience, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it unless you're desperate for a bite to eat. We grabbed a coffee for the road on the way out. read more

Stopped in for lunch. Lunch was served in the bar area, not the restaurant portion, possibly because their season is starting to wind down. Had to wait for a table, probably less than ten minutes. Peak times can be longer. They have a captive audience as there are limited dining options available in the area. Prices are rather expensive for what you order, but you are in a touristy area. Great view of the Glacier National Park. Rustic ambiance. My server was friendly and welcoming. Hostess and a busser seemed a little stressed. I ordered their bison burger and substituted a house salad with their huckleberry vinaigrette dressing for a $4 upcharge. The house salad was pretty good. The dressing is a regional thing and wasn't too unlike a balsamic vinaigrette, just very purple. The burger is a 1/3 pound patty that could have been cooked a little longer. The burger was topped with a savory sundried tomato jam, herbed goat cheese, and arugula on a fresh ciabatta bun. Good tasting sandwich, but it's very filling. The sandwich costs $19. Overall, the food was tasty, friendly service, and great view, but rather pricey for what you get. read more

Nice place around the St Mary! Location is convenient. If you stay in Rising Sun, it is still pretty reachable. The waitress is nice and friendly. We took the RIBEYE and SHRIMP & GRITS there. Bison quesadilla is a must try! Love the chimichurri sauce with it also. I went with the pork tenderloin with the garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus while Mom had the salmon. Both were quite good and the service here was friendly and prompt. While staying near GNP this place is a good one to refuel and regroup! read more

With limited spots to eat in and around the park, you would assume that the majority of the restaurants are decent for their overpriced food... not the case here. The menu looked much better than what we were given. We ordered the Bison burger, the pickled strawberry chicken salad, and soup. The only reason why we finished our meal is because of how hungry we were after a long day of hiking in the park. The fries had to be at least a day old... not fresh at all. Should have sent them back. The burger was practically a piece of cardboard. Soup was watered down. The salad was actually decent. Hayden, our server was truly the only good thing about our visit. We wish this was a better experience. Certainly encourage other visitors to go elsewhere. read more

Okay, I don't understand why this restaurant only has 3.5 stars - it's really much better than that. It's a slow, casual atmosphere that was perfect after hiking in Glacier National Park all day. Beer selection is better than most and not as heavy on the IPAs as we've been seeing elsewhere. We ordered the steak frites and shrimp and grits, which my teen wanted. My husband thought he was crazy since it's never as good as we make at home. About 15 minutes after we ordered we were told they would have to remake it for some reason which would take 20 minutes. We were offered soup for the wait - my husband said the tomato soup was fantastic. We were concerned our steak would be waiting under a heat lamp while they remade the grits but when it arrived it was very good. Nicely cooked (medium) and a giant pile of garlic fries. The shrimp and grits were the best we've ever had at a restaurant (and don't tell my family, but might even be better than I make at home...shhhhh...). read more

It was early morning and I was heading to one of the more remote sections of Glacier National Park.....the Two Medicine area. Randomly coming from Many Glacier, I stumbled upon the St. Mary Lodge and Resort and this.....the Snowgoose Grill - connected right next door. At that point in time, I was interested in finding breakfast anywhere I could as I was hungry and wanted a satisfying start towards my day before hiking and exploring at Two Medicine. Being around 7:30am, I walked around the rear section of the lodge and there was the Snowgoose Grill. Upon entering...the mood reminded me of a quaint mountain and rustic lodge. I liked the ambiance. It was quite early and I was seated right away with virtually no other customers inside the restaurant. This place was pretty big overall, with plenty of comfy space and oversized booths. Initially I was pretty happy I chose to come here as it gave me a moment to gather my thoughts and have a quiet breakfast. The menu was customary for any sort of lodge and grill you'd expect to find in the middle of nature and the outdoors. It featured classic favorites like eggs and bacon, egg sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, and a breakfast burrito. Other options included french toast, various styles of pancakes and skillet omelette scrambles with diverse mixes of ingredients. They even had oatmeal and granola. One drawback was the menu prices. Higher than I expected....I guess with limited options in the area to choose from....I felt sort of hostage to their prices which seemed inflated in my opinion. Regardless, I was on vacation and money doesn't matter when I'm having fun. I chose to get the Denver Scramble. It consisted of a chopped up egg omelette with ham, bell peppers, onions and cheddar cheese for $15. This also included breakfast potatoes and toast. When my food arrived, everything looked fresh and appetizing and the food tasted good. But....I only got 1 piece of toast. Really? That was disappointing as I am a bread person and at the very worst anywhere I have ever been...I've received at minimum 2 pieces. Whatever....I just let it go. Another disappointment I found was the ration of eggs scramble compared to the amount of potatoes. Typical.....I had not nearly enough eggs and just a boatload of extra potatoes filling up leftover space on my plate. So....I finished all the eggs and my 1 piece of toast and discouragingly there were only so many potatoes I could eat. Ultimately I left the Snowgrille Grill not stuffed or satisfied. I could have eaten a lot more. With my meal I also got a glass of orange juice. In total after taxes and leaving a $5 tip for the waitress, my meal came to $27. Meh....the whole experience didn't sit well with me. Eventually I continued on my way towards Two Medicine to sight-see for the day and remained positive about my travels. I had plenty of snacks, fruit and nuts in my car to tide me over until dinner time. Lol....always good to be prepared and have a backup plan. Overall I'm glad I had a free moment to sit down for a meal even though the Snowgoose Grille wasn't a winning restaurant. Since I was spending a few more days in Glacier, I was determined to find better opportunities for more comforting accommodations for breakfast. And actually I did. The following morning I discovered the Glacier's Edge Cafe down the road on my way towards Waterton National Park, and I had a much more hearty breakfast experience there. read more

I had the half rack of Huckleberry Ribs. Sauce tasted sweet and tasty ribs where tough. The decor gave it a very restive mountain home type of ambiance which we liked. Snow Goose Grille is a nice, clean place attached to the St Mary Lodge that sits at entrance to Glacier National Park. We stopped in after an exhausting day of hiking for replenishing and were well pleased! The bar area had semi big screen tv for Monday Night Football and same menu as restaurant. We both enjoyed the food and drink. I had burger and my wife had a tasty chicken sandwich. St Mary is not the middle of nowhere but you can see it from there. Nice place with friendly, attentive service. Don't order the fish. The dinner menu sounded incredibly tempting--I had the "steelhead trout with beurre blanc, risotto, and glazed carrots" for $30--but the dish was really disappointing. Maybe 4oz of overcooked fish with plain melted butter and a lump of risotto. It was kind of like the guy who wrote the menu and the guy who cooked it never met each other. In retrospect, I should have sent it back. On the other hand, my husband had the bison stroganoff and it was really good--tender meat, flavorful sauce. A little too gloopy to pass muster at a French restaurant but it was delicious. I'd stay away from the fish and stick to classics here. They also do a more low key breakfast and lunch which is totally fine (burgers, breakfast burritos, etc,). read more
