The care quality at this facility is not as excellent as they make it appear in the brochure online and offline. The type of care my client needed was rehabilitation of the foot because it was fractured and she had an episode when she fell and needed to be assisted in a center. As a clinical social worker I heard this location had 5 stars and they had a bed available so I shared this information with the clients family. However, when she arrived, the CNA's, Nurses and other members of the staff were rude to her caregivers as well as to me because I think they were under the impression that we were workers so why weren't we doing their job for them. The staff on almost every shift had an excuse for why they couldn't assist the client with something instead of tending to the clients needs. I reported a dirty restroom and the sanitary worker decided she wanted to argue me down about the cleanliness of the facility. I shared just because you spray a chemical such as bleach doesn't mean the area is properly sanitized and wiped down and why weren't they cleaning her room with such strong chemicals if they're different elements of patients who could be severely affected by the chemicals. I received no response just the lady rolling her eyes. I also had another employee say her CNA went to lunch, we will send someone to change the client and it never happened during the 45 minute break and when it finally happened a young lady came in huffing and puffing and asked who I was and said what are you a sitter or something? As if I should have changed the client. I would've gladly changed the client. However she requested that they do "their damn job" because I'd been doing it all night! So I politely made the request and she kept asking me questions the whole way through as if everything wasn't placed out in front of her. Overall experience is a 2. We already have a shortage of people being placed into facilities because hospitals rush them once it's time to be discharged and now this behavior... It's unfortunate and unacceptable. How people treat one another doesn't matter until it affects their livelihoods. I advocate for clients everyday and it's not always good to put on a performance during the day when families are here and know who the real players are. Public successors and private failures are reported to joint commission. read more

My aunt has been there for 7 weeks. I am extremely happy with the care that she receives. Outstanding staff, honestly too many people to mention..but a few of many stand out staff members are Michelle, Taylor, Melanie, Dawn, Ryan (Rylie?), and so many others that I am thankful for. My father was here for some time due to an injury. He reported people screaming at night which was disturbing. He also was left for long periods of time with his call button not attended to. The staff are really nice and fit all they have to deal with, they are poorly staffed and there's never enough people on duty. It's clean and well taken care of. The lack of equipment needed for physical rehab was surprising. There was also a very rude nurse who snapped at me and my father and then, with the same time, continued taking on her phone (Bluetooth) and I'm the same time, looking at us, I may not speak a Arabic language, but it was obvious she was relating our conversation to whomever she was talking to. Same person was usually found in the hall standing talking on her phone rather than distributing pills. And, don't even bother to ask her about medication because she comes unglued. She brought this place down in stars on her own. The other staff were very helpful and my father was demanding, but it's the job. I wish they had more staff, especially at night. When you can't get out of bed and are hungry/thirsty/have to go to the restroom, when people don't come for hours, it lends to the barbaric. read more

This place is not fit for humans!! The hospital sent my husband there yesterday, and just dropped him off. and he's a cancer patient. He rang the nurses station and a girl came him and asked him what his problem was!?! He asked for his pain meds, Then she told him ; she didn't give out meds and walked out. Mind you, they put him in a room with 2 other patients with no wipes for hygiene, NOTHING! Plus they had a Covid breakout yesterday!!!! ‍ Needless to say, he's coming home today!!! Also, there's 2 nurses to care for 30 patients. Thats unacceptable. There are a couple nice nurse or aid . However, that's not enough. He needs medical care not just physical therapy. read more

My mom fell and needed a hip replacement surgery. She needed to go here before surgery and she returned after surgery. In total, she was here for about 6 weeks. Before she was admitted ,my sister and I stopped by to check things out. It was clean and smelled clean. We met the administrator Daniel. He immediately gave us a tour of the facility and showed us everything. Everyone we met was really friendly. We felt better about leaving her after our visit. We had one small problem the first week, but it was immediately handled by Daniel and his staff. He gave my mom his card and said to call him anytime if she ever needed anything. Everyone was kind and helpful to my mom. They really interacted with her and tried to keep her positive about her situation. They encouraged her when she needed to be motivated to do physical therapy on the days she didn't want to do it. They were happy to see her go home, but sad they wouldn't see her again. One of the nurses actually cried when she left. I felt like we got the best possible care we could get. They made a tough time for my mom as good as it could be considering her situation. The nursing staff and CNA's work extremely hard and love taking care of the residents! The therapy team is the best in the business and provides excellent physical, occupational and speech therapy to the residents. I am hoping this review reaches current, past, and future visitors or staff. My mom has been here since March of 2021. As mentioned in other reviews the place is clean and my mom's needs have been met, when issues come up staff have been able to help resolve them, but we are hoping to get help locating an irreplaceable item. We had a blanket custom made from her clothes with her name on it. It has been with her there at Arbor Glen for over a year and a half without any issues. Recently it has come up missing, if you find it or see it, please notify staff so they make sure it gets back to her. read more

Isn't it curious that 90% of the reviews you see for this place are from employees? Definitely not from the patients. Of course yes there are several CNAs that are very helpful but few and far between. They don't answer call lights they don't even answer the emergency Bell when someone's in the toilet. You can call them and they hang up on you. The CNAs that are good, are very good. Especially at night you're not very good. There's several male CNAs that are so rude. You need help going to the bathroom and they throw the sheet on you and say be quiet and go to sleep. Or else they tell you just crap on the floor. Seriously. My dad was brought here last night. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. Rude staff, no blankets or pillows, tv with no remote, smells, no personal hygiene wipes, 1 CNA for 15+ residents and 3 grown men in a 12x12 room and these CNA's couldn't care less if you need help. Alls there doing is filling this place up so they can get that monthly check from the state. Going to get my dad out of this place today. NO ONE SHOULD EVER SPEND 24 HRS AT THIS SO CALLED FACILITY. ARBOR GLEN NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN AND I WILL DO MY PART TO SEE THAT THIS PLACE CLOSES ITS DOORS FOREVER. Substandard life threatening facility with inadequate staff to provide healthy care for short and long residents. Orders for pain relief medication was not followed. Offered Tylenol when orders allowed for something else. Delay in ordered antibiotics for treatment of infection and amputation. Toes amputated, bandages were supposed to be changed daily. We were lucky if they were changed 3-4 times the 3 weeks she was there. Mom was at facility for 10 days before getting a shower. Meals are high in carbs low in protein, diabetic diet is not followed. It's great, you don't have to go to the bathroom because they rather put you in a diaper and then let you sit in it. The staff was caught in many lies. It makes me sick we could not get her out of the facility. More concerned about advance directive than doctors orders. Do not take loved ones here. read more

You can't judge a book by its cover and it is unfair to judge Arbor Glen by its outdated paint colors and furniture. The care my mom received during her 20 day stay was professional, kind, loving, and highly attentive. Dr. Rahimey is there full time, including some nights and weekends. She's excellent--with previous private practice focus on dementia, Alzheimer's, diabetes, and other concerns that often complicate rehabilitation from surgery or stroke. She's one of the best doctors--brilliant and compassionate with a depth of knowledge and resources. The CNAs are extremely busy but take their time and attend to each patient delivering care, attention, fulfilling requests, and visiting. The LVNs were compassionate and diligent. Often calling to obtain approval for pain meds or sleeping aids late at night if a patient or family member requested it for their loved one. The only thing my mom complained about was the salty food. She was in a low-sodium diet and is lactose intolerant. Yet, each meal tray came with a milk-based protein shake and was very salty. The food looked not too appealing. The few bites I tried were awful. But, cooking for that many people, many of whom are on restricted diets can't be easy. I found the place to be clean and often a woman was cleaning while I was there no matter the time or day. Physical therapy and occupational therapy were top notch! The entire team was great. Mom received as much therapy as she could tolerate. Some patients were in the gym for 2.5 hours a day. I would recommend Arbor Glen to anyone who has to make a decision about rehabilitation care for themselves or a loved one. They do excellent work in all of the areas that matter and are compassionate. read more

No customer service phones in rooms are very old and don't work the lobby phones rarely get answered no matter how many times you call I know know walking in there is never a receptionist to answer or transfer call to units! When you ask to speak to the nurse in charge of your loved one you get a different person every time and in person, they deny they spoke to you who's really in charge?! And the patients get abused by families and destroy hospital property NO ONESAYS ANYTHING I NEARLY DIER AND IM NOT LIVING IN THIS FACILITY' also, when I go visit most of the times, the phones are unplugged, put in the nightstand drawer and left for forgotten. The staff doesn't even pay attention. They transfer phone calls, never the patient never answers. Because the time never rings it's in the dryer and they don't worry about that. These nurses harassed, they complained about her and never took care of her bottom infection. They don't care, they use towels to clean the elders bottoms. I cannot recommend Arbor Glen Skilled Nursing. Mom went in healthy after a fall that fractured her knee and shoulder. She laid in bed for 3 months during the LA County Covid lock down. She developed bed sores, blood clots in both legs and also in one lung. Her ears filled with ear wax and she couldn't hear. 20+ staff came down with Covid. During this time patient visitation wasn't allowed or limited to one hour. The activities room and dining room were both closed. Communication with the staff was okay, however, follow up was poor. Mom went to the hospital after being released by Arbor Glen and she is recovering at home. read more

Finding a place to put your loved one when faced with end of life care is a stressful and daunting task but the folks at Arbor Glen Care Center gave my mom top notch care on her 40 day stay at the facility. The facility is a bit older but that did not take away from the awesome care my mom recieved. Dr. Rahimey is the attending physcian and takes the time to go over your options when deciding what kind of care and treatment would be needed for your loved one. She had remembered my mom from a few years ago where she had treated her at a different facility. (Nice to know the patients are just not numbers), and recommended the best treatment plan possible for my moms ailment. The staff at Arbor Glen was very attentive to my mom and they made sure she was as comfortable as could be. All of the nursing team were caring, compassionate and tried to make sure my mom had everything she needed to be as comfortable as possible. Special thanks to Stormie, Rachel, Omar, Daniel for being caring and compassionate. (sorry if I left anyone out). The staff as a whole is very kind a caring for what they deal with on a daily basis. Thanks to all who took such good care of her. My mom did not enjoy the food, but she was on a special diet and the facility did the best they could. They have many diets to cook for. The facility as a whole is clean and they have staff always sweeping moping or cleaning. The only two things I took issue with was the communication at times with my moms hospice team and the nursing staff on duty. They sometimes did not let the hospice staff know about little details that could have made my mom a little bit more comfortable. The other is the friendliness of the of the staff in the business office. Maybe the girl I dealt with on a couple of occasions was having a bad day but really you could be a little bit more friendly when people are coming in to give you money. Not friendly at all. Overall I would recommend Arbor Glen if you have to make a decision about care for your parents or loved one they are a good solid facility with a great staff. This goes out to all families looking for an assisted skilled nursing facility! As you read through the reviews for this facility you notice that a majority of the pictures are from staff and workers rating 5 stars for themselves. When I tell you that these images posted for this place are a total lie and deceiving I mean it. As soon as you walk into this place you get a cold prison feel rather than a warm welcome to the facility. My grandfather was sadly placed into this facility awaiting surgery at a nearby hospital. This was the only option in the area for him to stay because of the insurance company. If We would of known what this place was about we would of sad hell no. This place makes you set up appointments for 30 minutes to see your loved one. This place crams 3 patients to a room. This place shows no compassion to the patients. This place shows no warmth or welcome to the families. My grandfather was in the place about a week and the only words he could express were " get me out of here"! As he was transferred there, there wasn't an appointment for a few days later. So we make the appointment to visit, we are a few minutes early. We walk to the front entrance, we were told to go back to our car, our appointment time isn't until our time. What in the world? We go in and visit our loved one, for only 30 minutes. The nurse walks in and says there are papers to be signed, we sign the papers for almost 20 minutes of our allotted 30 minutes. We go back into the room with our loved on, to see him staring at the wall. We brought him food, he was starving. The nurse comes back in and says it time to go, our time is up. What the hell. We were signing papers for 20 minutes, the nurse rolled her eyes. He said he was never bathed or even see a toothbrush in days. We live almost 2 hours away from this facility, so when ever We would try to call him on his cellphone, he wasn't able to answer. We called the nurses station on multiple occasions, no answer. When ever the nurses station would answer they would always say he was sleeping, hell with that! Whenever one of us could visit him, he was laying in bed staring at the ceiling. His tv was turned off, the language was in Chinese. We asked it to be fixed, days later it was never fixed. His food tray was on his table, the lid was still on it, how in the hell is he suppose to reach his food when he can't sit up on his own and he can hardly feed himself. He's said they would come and just take the food away, thinking he was done. This place has no consideration for the patients and the families. There aren't in sync with society and how to show compassion times of need. My grandfather left this place for his surgery, he was met at the hospital he had crumbs all over his gown and was never bathed. He said oh those crumbs are from this cookies you brought a few days ago. My grandpa was so relieved and happy to have his surgery to further his quality of life and to be out of this hell whole of a place. He went in for surgery and gave us the thumbs up as he was being wheeled away by the doctors. Sadly and so unfortunately he had complications during the surgery and never made it out, he had passed away. My grandpas last week of life was so crap and it breaks my heart he was in the place the last week of his life. My grandpas last few words he said to us was that " that was the longest week of my life". So for the families reading this please do not send your loved ones here. You're loved one will face depression and sadness. I am so sad to hear about his lack of care at the place . My grandpa came into surgery in a lack of hygiene. We need to hold this place responsible for their lack of care, compassion and their ethics. You don't tell a family that you can't visit your loaves one on a weekend and you'll prop them up by a window to say hello. We live 2 hours away, we were able to go as often we would of liked to, the weekends were our time off. You will see nice pictures and nice things about this place, they are false and a scam. I can't stress this enough of how you shouldn't send your loved one who needs care to this place. You sure as hell won't find care here. We expressed our grievances to management, silence. BEWARE! We asked for a letter in how they will change the ways the care for their patients, we were told they wouldn't be able to provide anything like that, so other families don't go through the same. Why? Is there something that you think you did wrong? Sure seems like it. We looked at reviews of this place before he was transferred, we thought he would've had good care here.
