I love going to Lucy for color and cut. She's amazing. I have dark hair and only colored my greys for a while. I wasn't sure about any real color for a while, but Lucy made it possible. She was attentive and kept a close eye on the bleaching process and selected a beautiful warm, chocolatey brown color and even when it fades its pretty and not too brassy. I like that he knows how to manage my thick, Asain, hair. He is honest & will let me know if he thinks I can skip a cut. Shane offers product recommendations but isn't pushy about buying. And, he's fun to chat with! My oldest son has started seeing him, too. He's 9 years old. My son insists on keeping his hair long, but he has so much thick hair that is runs the risk of looking "helmety" or like a mullet. Shane takes care of this! The rest of the stylists are also great. I love this place! I wanted to get my hair colored for the first time and I was looking for a small to mid-sized salon for the job. For reference, I've had the same stylist for 20+ years until she retired, so I was very anxious to try a new place for my hair cut/styling needs. I met with Dirk to walk him through what ombre look I wanted. He was extremely confident and answered all my questions! A few days later, I came in to get my color done and it is everything I wanted. Dirk quickly colored, washed, and styled my hair. He also recommended a few products to preserve the color since it was my first time getting hair colored. I saw Juan for a blowout before my friend's wedding. This is a beautiful salon space. Aveda products are so luxurious, and all of the stylists were lovely and welcoming. My hair has a lot of blonde damage so we did a conditioning treatment, and before the blowout, he even squeezed in a quick trim because he had time! I can't believe it's taken me so long to write a review. I brought my daughter in to be a baylage model for one of new trainees. It was a little too light and the owner Juan fixed it and made it beautiful. People are always complementing her on her hair! I immediately fell in LOVE the staff and the salon. I had just had it done somewhere else a couple weeks before and it was not what I wanted- so I tried to do it myself- it was bad :( I called the salon because I had heard from the Bellevue Aveda girls that it was the best up and coming salon- awesome colorists! I had a great experience here! It's like being in a high quality boutique space with gorgeous décor and a lovely outdoor patio. It's in a quiet neighborhood with easy street parking too. I love the Aveda products they use and my hair stylist, Juan, was very professional and talented. I have long ashy blond hair so I asked for color that would look natural yet a much brighter blond. He colored it to perfection! He foiled in the perfect shade of blond for me and then gave me a great layered cut to give my hair more volume. Honestly, one of if not THE best Aveda salon in the Pacific Northwest. The staff is always super fun to be mingle with. Juan the owner, is so funny and has a good crew working under him. Shane has some of the best customer service. Phillip is sharp with his coloring skills. The ambiance is on par with every season and always maintains a refined comfy mountain cabin getaway feel without feeling tacky or over done. Its a little quieter and personal of an experience which is why I keep coming back. Another favorite part of my visit beside my hair, is the TEA. Overall, if you haven't checked out this place, its a must! Winter has the cozy fireplace to snuggle up to while your color processes. Glam & Tonics is the essence of a neighborhood Aveda salon, keeping in line with the minimal footprint ideology of Aveda. I much prefer the smaller, off the beaten path environment to that of the busy mega-salons Seattle is so well known for. I took the bus directly from Capitol Hill to their front door. The three staff members were friendly, I felt like I had been coming in for years. Juan, the stylist I booked online through their website, evaluated the length of my hair and came to the conclusion that "cleaning it up" would leave me with the length I desired. He was very knowledgeable in the Aveda line and the aroma of the salon was everything I remember and love the brand for. He trimmed up my side burns and hair line after we both agreed the length was a plus. The end result was a very satisfied customer and a bit more cash in my wallet. Called and emailed to ask if Olaplex was used when adding bleach to hair and was told yes so I made an appointment. I have always had Olaplex used in my hair in the past. Made an appointment to have hair taken back to blonde (fashion bleach and tone) from a darker color that also has highlights in it. Also wanted a hair cut to get rid of damaged parts of hair and indicated that I would be pleased with shorter, spunky hair style because I was aware that it might be necessary to cut more off to get rid of damaged areas. Instead I was told that the stylist would rather "balayage" my hair and that they do not use Olaplex. What happened is he "painted" a few chunks of my hair on top, let the bleach sit for not a very long time and not under heat to activate it.. which was strange to me.. and then he washed it. When asked about the cut I explained I wanted to damaged pieces cut and if that meant layering to blend hair and cutting short, that was fine with me because I wanted a fresh new cut. Instead... he barely trimmed it, pointed out the weird length of hair around top portion of head and showed me the damaged hair in the back.. I said we should just cut it and blend the layers.. and he said no just grow it out. I felt like I was an inconvenience to the hair dresser the entire visit and he didn't want to do the service I asked for and scheduled an appointment for. My hair doesn't look much different that when I went in and I have orange roots. I'm disappointed and feel like I spent a lot of money for bad service. I didn't get what I asked for and felt like I was annoying and inconveniencing the hair stylist. read more

I love visiting this salon because they perform high level hair services (especially color, cutting and balayage) but also because Steven the dog is always there to greet me and cuddle me while I wait to see a stylist. There is free parking on the streets on either side of the salon and I enjoy the easy access from Bellevue and Seattle both. I got the best haircut and best hair color with Juan today. He used aveda hair color on me and it was amazing. I've been going to him for over a year now and he's still hands down the best aveda hairstylist I've ever been to. Today as soon as I came in he knew exactly what he wanted to do with my hair. He showed me a picture of the new aveda collection and I loved it. Juan is friendly, creative, and always willing to give a good and honest opinion. And I always get compliments on my hair whenever he's done, which I'm not going to complain about. The aveda salon is clean, and very trendy. I love the exposed concrete wall look they have in there outdoor patio, and my favorite part is the huge white ceramic moose head over the fireplace.
