I would strongly **CAUTION** anyone considering booking this stylist for an important event. She was scheduled to come to my home to do my daughter's hair for her First Communion, and at 3:45 AM the morning of the appointment, she canceled because a bride "needed her earlier." Instead, she offered to send an assistant I had never met or agreed to book with. What was most upsetting was not just the last-minute cancellation, but her complete lack of professionalism and empathy afterward. When I expressed how stressful and disappointing this was for such an important family milestone, she was unapologetic and responded that she "could have just canceled" entirely and "didn't understand" why I was "so upset." Based on other reviews, this does not seem to be an isolated incident but rather a pattern of behavior. Beware!!!! See attached screenshots!!! I booked Maritza so that she could do my sister's bridal hair and makeup and my others sisters hair and makeup as well, but she arrived extremely late. Initially she said that she would be arriving at 9:30am, however she did not arrive till around 1:10pm; mind you the bride had to be ready at 2pm! The day before she kept pushing her start time and on the day of she said she had "car problems." I should have checked yelped before booking her because she seems to have the same late story with others. I also requested my $75 deposit back, but I have not received it (she did not do the bride's hair and makeup.) My sister the bride ended up doing her own hair and makeup on her wedding day!!!!!! In terms of skills, I would say shes pretty mediocre. Save your self money and stress and look elsewhere for a reliable makeup artist. She's extremely unprofessional and irresponsible with no respect for your time and event. I can only hope other brides and perspective clients see this review on time before they book with her. Buyer beware! Unreliable and unprofessional! I booked my wedding with Maritza after she did the hair and makeup for a friend of mine. When scheduling my trial, she canceled the day of (it was my anniversary and I was planning a nice dinner). I was bummed, but understanding and agreed to reschedule for another day. The night before my rescheduled appointment, she messages me that SHE FORGOT SHE ALREADY HAD A WEDDING that day. She asked to push the appointment from 2 to 4pm. Hesitant, I agreed. She continues to message me that she will be even later than projected. It's 5PM, still a no show. Obviously, she is not reliable and I can only imagine what could have happened on my wedding day. Maritza did the MOST AMAZING job on my wedding hair and makeup in January 2022. She was referred to me by two brides in my community that had their hair and makeup done by her for their weddings. We ended up doing a trial run a month before my wedding and the trial went FABULOUS. I asked for a more natural look and she definitely accomplished that. I was not sure on how I wanted my eye makeup or updo done, but she created the most beautiful look...better than I could ever imagine. So thankful for her and the wonderful services she provided. Also, my sister used her as well for her wedding hair and makeup. I frantically messaged her A MONTH before my sisters wedding as my sister had the worst experience during her trial run with her initial makeup artist. The day of my sons wedding, she canceled and left us with no hair or makeup I book hair and make up 3 months in advance with Maritza, our appt was at 11am, at 11:05 she txt saying she would be an hour late, then when our schedule didn't work because she was going to be late she canceled. Said she wouldn't have enough time. If she was a professional she wouldn't ha e been late and could have completed her job. We gave a $200 deposit and she still canceled. She was easy to communicate with leading up to my big day, which was important because I was traveling from out of state! Maritza made all of us look beautiful in a natural way and really listened to how we wanted our individual hair and makeup. She was friendly and sweet, and the time flew by so quickly. BEWARE SHE NEVER SHOWED UP, IRRESPONSABLE UNPROFESIONAL UNRELIABLE. Worst makeup artist experience ever. I booked Maritza for my nieces quinceañera. My appointment was at 12.00 to be ready 1.30 the latest, church was at 2.00. I sent the $75 deposit. On Thursday I confirmed my 12.00 appointment with her. She sends me a message on friday saying she has to change the time due to weather, only rained Friday not Saturday. She gave me the option for 9.30 and 12.30. I chose 9.30. I was worried because I knew she had other appointments in the morning, she told me she would have time for me. On Saturday the day of my event she messages me at 8.30 saying she has to move my appointment to the original time 12.00. Then at 11.30 she sends me another message saying she was stuck in traffic and would have to send another makeup artist to my house. I agreed. At 12.00 I ask where she is at she says the artist will arrive at 12.30. I waited and waited, stressed, and worried. Her makeup artist messages me at 12.45 asking if it's okay if she arrives at 1.15. Of course not I had to be ready by 1.30. I was so upset I had told maritza numerous times I had to be ready by 1.30 and she agreed and was trying to send me another person 75 minutes later than my original appointment. Around 12.50 I texted Maritza to return my 75 deposit. She did . I got myself ready with only 60 minutes left. Other makeup artist said Maritza asked her to do my makeup at 10.00. She was not stuck in traffic she was probably doing other clients makeup. She played with me all day telling me she was arriving. In my case she was irresponsible and unprofessional. She could of been honest with me on friday or Saturday and I would looked for somebody else. Instead I trusted that she was a professional and was let down big time.
