I contacted Valerie about a month before my wedding since I wasn't happy with the previous hair and makeup trials I had had, and did my trial with her June 5th. Valerie has a great personality and her work is amazing. During the trial, she took her time to find out exactly what I was looking for for my bridal hair and makeup. She was super nice and attentive and actually listened to my requests. After the trial, I knew she was the one for my wedding day! My wedding was July 9th, 2016. Valerie came to the hotel where I was getting ready in the morning and she did my hair and makeup as well as my sister's and my mom's makeup. She also brought a second stylist to do my sister's and my mom's hair. I was 100% satisfied with Valerie's work on my wedding day. I absolutely loved my hair and makeup. It was exactly what I wanted. Both my hair and makeup lasted all day. The products Valerie uses are high quality. She finished doing my hair and makeup around 11:30am, my ceremony was at 12:00pm and my pictures were right after. I didn't have to retouch for the pictures (which were from 1:00-5:00pm). My cocktail hour was from 5:00-6:00pm and my reception from 6:00pm to midnight. I retouched my makeup (removed oil form my face and reapplied lipgloss) two times during the ceremony using the touch-up kit Valerie provided (it included lipgloss, sheer oil removing sheets, q-tips, and a few other useful items). My sister's wedding was this past Friday (9/23/16) and we hired Valerie for hair and makeup for a total of 5 individuals. My sister the bride, 2 bridesmaids (myself and our other sister), our mother and the groom's mother. Up until the wedding day Valerie had been great about everything, communication, bridal trial, engagement shoot. But on her wedding day the most important day she completely and utterly FAILED us. She showed up almost TWO hours late, failed to communicate with us properly and didn't even provide a reason other than her uber driver was a creep and got lost. Her game plan was to do everyone's hair except the brides (she would be last) and then makeup. Her plan again FAILED us, she did my mom and sister's hair rushed and simply put mediocre. My hair was a complete mess, I wanted extensions put in, a braid and curls. The way she put in my extensions was terrible, my hair did not blend, the braid looked sloppy and the curls were coming undone, after 45mins she tells me I'm done, how could she honestly say my hair looked ok? My hair looked so bad I could not see myself walking out of the house looking the way it did. By the time she was done with my hair it was 11am and no one was ready. The photographers were set to arrive at 12pm we had to be at the church at 1:30pm. We literally had to tell her that she needed to get started on the bride because we have a schedule to maintain. At this point it becomes clear to us that we need help and we literally have to call a friend to help us do our makeup because she was not going to be able to do what we hired her to do. Our friend shows up and helps with our makeup but mind you she is not a professional so she doesn't have the tools she needs and we have to ASK Valerie to let her use some of her items which she almost seemed reluctant to do. The photographers arrive and still no one is ready, because of Valerie we did not get to take pictures with my sister getting ready, being relaxed and enjoying her special day. She stressed everyone out, at one point my sister broke down in tears because of everything Valerie had caused us. I can't express how upset I still am about the events that transpired that morning. She spent TEN minutes on the mother of the grooms hair 10! The only credit I will give Valerie is that she did good by the bride honestly the least thing she could do after what she put her through. But the horror continued Valerie still demanded to be paid the full amount. She charged the grooms mother $70!! when she practically did nothing to her. She said the best she could do was a give us a $10 discount since the other person only did our eye makeup. $10 discount after what she put us through. We missed so many moments with our sister, moments we can never re-create because of her unprofessionalism, if I could give this woman ZERO stars I would. Her behavior and attitude that day showed what little regard she had for the bride on one of the most important days of her life. Valerie I really hope you understand how much stress and hurt you caused us that day. You took away so many moments for my sister's and I. You stressed us and made us upset right before such an important event in our family's life. But we managed to compose ourselves and deal with our nappy hair and makeup and made the most of the beautiful wedding my sister and brother-in-law had. I honestly hope people think twice before hiring you and I still hope you understand how wrong you were and credit us back our money because you did NOT deserve to get paid what we paid you and know that the only reason you were paid what you were is because we wanted you to leave. I recently hired Valerie to do the hair and make-up for my wedding (10-8-16) for a total of 5 people, including myself. I had worked with her a few months prior to the wedding and had a makeup and hair trial which I took advantage of and used to take my engagement pictures. Once I received my photos back I knew that I would be hiring her! She was great throughout the whole process and communicated with me via e-mail regarding our prospective timeline for the day of the wedding. She had initially wanted everyone to be at the venue at 7am, but my bridal party wasn't having it! After making a few changes she let me know she could bring in another hair stylist to do the hair for my girls and she would do the make-up (changing our start time to noon, which we appreciated). The only con to the entire experience was that the hair stylist she brought in was about 30 minutes late and through off the timeline a bit. My sister (maid of honor) was the last person to finish getting ready right before my ceremony and we ended up having to stall a bit to give her enough time to finish. If the hair artist would have been on time, I think it would have prevented that delay in our timeline. But overall, everyone's hair and make-up turned our great and lasted the entire night! I would definitely recommend Valerie and would hire her again. My only recommendation would be to start your day earlier than later just in case you have any hiccups with your timeline like we did. read more

I learned from her that she used to do makeup for TV shows, runway, and other entertainment-type things, which is obvious in the professionalism of her work. The price is also a good deal, because she travels to you for both the trial and day-of with no additional travel fees.
