Coming into the studio it was very clean and nicely decorated with a coffee machine and ferrero rocher chocolates (yum!). The bed was super comfortable, I was ready to take a nap. I had Amber, the lash stylist, and she was amazing! We discussed the different options of lashes and opted to stay with the classic set. She was very gentle and skillful, my eyes didn't turn red afterwards (I have had precious experiences at other places where the glue sometimes leaks into my eyes, but that wasn't the case here). The appointment took almost two hours, but it went by quickly since I actually did take a nap (ha). We talked about proper aftercare for the extensions such as no pulling and rubbing the eyes as well as cleaning the area with a oil-free soapy water mixture to avoid getting debris at the base of the eyelashes. Especially with the summer heat, there can be extra oil on the eyelids and I'm glad Amber brought that to my attention to occasionally dap the eyelids dry (or wear a powder to help soak up the oils). Definitely would recommend this business to friends! Already signed up for my 2-week refill! :)

Please *note* I bought the "Full set Xtreme Eye Lash Extension" Groupon for much cheaper price than it is now. The inside of Lash Studio by Elle was very posh, clean and cute. There was coffee, and some chocolate in the sitting area. The studio was very clean and beautifully decorated. The certified Xtreme Lash stylist, Amber, was very nice and very informative about the difference between Xtreme lashes and other lashes. I've gotten my eyelashes done many times before in NYC. I was hoping Amber would be my monthly go-to eyelash stylist but unfortunately, my first visit and I wasn't 100% satisfied with the results. I am going to give a fair and honest review so here's why: I showed Amber a couple of pictures of how I want my eyelashes from Lash Studio's own Instagram and Facebook pictures of their before and after Eyelash extensions. I was very impressed with the photos Lash Studio by Elle had (hence why I bought the Groupon). The photos display women with long AND thick lashes. However when Amber asked me what I wanted and I showed her pics from their own website, she said she cant do volume/thickness, she can only "lengthen my eyelashes to give it a mascara effect"... Problem was that I already have naturally long eyelashes, I needed volume... I wanted her to be able to work with my type of eyelashes but she seemed to only know how to work with people who have eyelashes similar to hers which are short eyelashes. I even showed her a picture of two ladies on their company's website to indicate that's exactly what I want but Amber said I'd have to pay her an EXTRA $20 for VOLUME and THICKNESS on my eyelashes. I expressed what I want, as I've had previous eyelash stylist in NYC give me thick voluminous eyelash extensions many times before for the same price, and within the same amount of time. Amber repeated she can make it thick for $20 more otherwise she's just going to add eyelashes for length purposes and that she would try her best. (sigh) I laid down hoping for the best, like any girl on her first visit to a salon. After 3 very still tiring hours, I notice she did a nice job but not a great job. Her work was nice enough for me not to say anything negative, but not nice enough for me to want to come back to do it again. I know she tried her best,as putting on Eyelashes is very tedious and takes lots of patience on both ends, so the 3 stars I've given are going into Amber's effort, the interior decor of the studio, and the friendly atmosphere. I have really sensitive skin and always break out after getting my brows done, whether I do wax or threading. I decided I had nothing to lose by booking a brow appointment at Sugar and Hive. I thought I was booking an appointment to have sugaring done, but when I got there they clarified that it was wax, which was no problem. The area was bright, nicely decorated and squeaky clean. There's a large open treatment area where the facials and other skin services are done and then a couple of treatment rooms for body waxing. My waxer happened to be able to do my brows in one of the treatment rooms which I was glad about. I walked in and was floored by the over the top (see what I did there?) decor. The wallpaper on the ceiling is such a nice touch since you're laying down on the table. I love when businesses really hone in on the little details in order to make the space shine. After talking through my options, we decided to go with hard wax, instead of soft, for my sensitive skin. The treatment was painless and afterward she covered the area with hydrocortisone cream. My eyebrows looked very natural and nicely shaped. I was very happy with the service and the best part is that I didn't break out! The hydrocortisone cream must have been the golden ticket. I made my next appointment before I left and am looking forward to it.

I received a custom facial from Lani and it was a great experience. She was super friendly and explained exactly what products she'd use based on my skin from her observation and my concerns. Now the space itself was beautiful but could use some improvements for customer experience. First the room I received my facial didn't have a curtain it was open which made it hard to relax and wind down because I could hear people moving throughout the spa and talking. A lot of talking. Not obnoxiously just more than I'd care to hear since I came to relax. Lastly. The music choices could also be a bit more relaxing like calming/soothing instrumentals rather than music with lyrics. Overall I'd visit again but some changes could make this a much better experience.

I really loved having her do my lashes, but the distance made it necessary for me to find someone in the area to do my lashes if I wanted to continue having them done. I used Yelp to find luxe lashes. I booked an appointment with Anastasia. My first two times at luxe were a great experience, had no issues with the lashes. The third appointment was on Dec 23rd. It honestly seemed sorta short, I was wondering how my lashes were done so quickly. Well by the morning of Christmas, I realized all of my lashes were coming out. It was crazy- they were literally falling out in clumps in the middle of me talking to my patients! Which was sorta embarrassing. By the next morning they were almost completely gone, only the amount I had before the fill was left. I called luxe to ask what could be done. I was offered a free appointment for my lashes to get redone. I was leaving the area that day, and wouldn't be back until after the holidays, which was the whole reason I got my lashes done. After that I was scheduled for two months of 80hr work wks so I really didn't need lashes for that. Explained my situation and asked for a refund. By this point, it was clear no wanted to remedy my situation. I had to keep calling. Eventually I got in touch with the owner. Our whole convo I felt that she was accusing me of being the reason the lashes fell out (i.e. asking me if I showered or cried). However at the end of the convo she said she would refund me. The next day I was back home for the holidays. My friend looked at my lashes and said they had fallen out because they were placed way too far out on my lashes, and not enough glue was used. She removed the few left for me .... It's been over two weeks since then. I've called 2-3x to ask where my refund is. Refunds don't take over two weeks. I still feel like I'm being blamed for a bad lash job, and I feel that luxe cares more about money than making sure they do a good job.

So, I called to ask about the wait and they said probably around 15 mins, so I was about 10 mins away and felt this would be my best option. They weren't personable at all and no small talk at all, just confirmed what I wanted and the shape and thickness I like my brows. It wasn't the gentleness threading I'm used to, but she got the job done and my brows looked great. I felt like they hurt a bit after for a couple of days, so I was wondering if I'd been cut, but I just took care of it at home in my routine moisture care maintenance.
