Went to Glasshouse kitchen for a late lunch, excited to give it a try as there aren't many food options in that immediate area. Was definitely impressed with the building itself - airy, open and well designed. Then came the food - such a disappointment. I had the smash burger and fries. The burger was ok - nothing special, and the fries were cold and stale. Admittedly I was having a late lunch, but a place like this I would expect fresh fries. At first I was going to ask my server to see about getting a fresh order, but he never came around. Time was getting tight, and at this point I had finished my burger and needed to get back to work. He finally came back as I was putting on my jacket with the bill. I noticed that on top of my $18 burger and cold fries there was a kitchen gratuity!?! What's that?? I was now in a hurry to get back to work, so I didn't have time to even ask what that was about, but I definitely would not have given a special gratuity for a meal that no special care was given to make. As far as first impressions go - this was a disappointment. On the fence about whether to give it another chance - it's an expensive lunch to chance another disappointment. read more

Wonderful experience. I went for lunch. First, it is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant. Our server, Kristin, was great. We ordered the club sandwich and the fish sandwich. Both were delicious and came out quickly. My colleague ordered a pizza to go for her husband and the verdict was it was very good! I would love to come back to try many other items on their menu. I think the only negative is the parking. This is during the week so maybe with the next-door businesses, parking is tight. Four of us made a dinner reservation for this evening and I wasn't really sure what to expect. The on line photos showed a beautiful atmosphere, but I can't say that that I was super excited about the menu I saw on line, but went in with an open mind. I must say that the overall location was a bit surprising to me, sort of randomly placed in Research Triangle Park. The decor was beautiful. Our sever, Jeff was great! I think we needed up ordering 4 appetizers; all of which were really good, but I really enjoyed the burrata. The fried oysters were amazing! The bread was good too. I was not over ally impressed with my alcoholic beverage and I don't recall the specific name, it was something "flip flop" and it really didn't do much for me. I ordered the Lobster pizza as my meal and it was really good-there was a generous amount of lobster on the pizza and the crust was probably some of the best I've ever had. I also swapped a slice of my pizza for a slice of my cousins "meat lover" version and wow, the combination of flavors was amazing! I finished the meal with an order of crème brûlée and had a bite of the dessert donut, both of which were decent, but I'm not dying to have again. First of all, the table took about 10 minutes longer than host said it would and there were plenty of open tables. Ordered a mocktail which was basically glorified pineapple juice with a flower for $9. The buratta was expensive and small, but very good. I got the smoked turkey sandwich with fries for my main. It had bacon which I did not order and it was missing the tomato. Bread was hard to eat so I only ended up eating half and picked off the bacon. Server never asked how our food was, just the drinks. At the end, our bill was not brought and we were just charged with credit card. So I'm not actually sure if I paid extra for the bacon I did not order or want. The fries were nothing special, quite disappointing actually. Server was very nice. Atmosphere was nice. I would not return. read more

I had a wonderful leisurely lunch here this week, with a friend. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, though we chose to sit on the outdoor terrace, due to the lovely weather. Denzel was our server, and he definitely made the entire experience a fun and relaxing lunch date, with his warm and engaging presence. I had the trout, which was delicious, and my friend enjoyed the steak frites. We both had a mocktail, with pineapple, etc, that was a pretty purple hue, with a flower floating atop. My review is based on the value of the food. This place gets a ton of hype for the ambiance. It's beautiful inside. Very Instagram worthy. The service was decent , my biggest complaint is bang for your buck . I went for brunch on a Saturday, the menu was limited, which is fine, but none of the options were " amazing" . They charged $10 for a mimosa, for brunch that's a disappointment, especially for Prosecco and orange juice. I started with the avocado toast, the selection was small for $14, nothing special in taste or portion. Second plate was the smoked salmon Benedict, $24. Again nothing special and I finished my entire plate. I will say my eggs were cooked perfect for medium poached. I will say this, I'm no cheap skate, I love to eat good food. And I will pay for good food. But nothing here has me wanting to go back. My girlfriend had their grits, biscuits and smash potatoes, she threw her plates away. Was not worth a doggie bag. read more

Listen... if you haven't gone to Glasshouse yet you are seriously missing an EXPERIENCE. From the ambience 10/10 to the staff 15/10 and the food is just I got to try out their brunch menu when they held an event there and then recently went back for dinner and somehow they outdid themselves. We pretty much ordered the whole appetizer menu and some of the seasonal drinks and were just blown away at how good everything was. I had brunch with my girlfriends and I will start with the positives. It is a beautiful restaurant with glass walls, and some greenery. Just perfect for a brunch setting. Customer service was 2nd to none from the hostess to the server and everyone in between. The manager came over and greeted us and made sure all was well. Simply perfect all around. Unfortunately three of us ordered Shrimp and grits and two sent them back. No one thought their food was that great and I didn't find the menu too appealing to be honest, but there were thumbs up all around for the mimosas. Sooooo, I am going to say while I didn't love my dining experience, I am willing to give them another try. Maybe go for dinner with my family and see how that works out. Was interested after seeing the bar manager in a cocktail competition where their entry was really good so went back to see if the food matched. Both the cocktail and brunch menus were excellent. A lot of restaurants even pretty good ones tend to "phone it in" for brunch because the standard foods are such crowdpleasers and I was pleasantly surprised at how original and creative the brunch options here were. I went apart of an Offline event and aside from the ambiance the rest left much to be desired. Ambiance and decorations are hands down gorgeous vibes and views. The greenery all around helps it to be fit in the area yet still be a restaurant. It's such a beautiful environment. The food (specifically the entree brunch options) tried were just not that great. I had the turkish eggs and it was just lacking all around. The flavor infusions were so inconsistent and it seemed each veggie was cooked differently (examples onions were caramelized, snap peas tasted blanched, and green beans tasted sautéed. Definitely seemed not well put together and kind of a half done entree. The lime flavor seemed to be input with a dropper versus squeezed in whole dish. The lime was the redeeming quality of the otherwise bland dish. The veggies were almost tasteless and drowned out by eggs Benedict and the greek yogurt. As someone who loves veggies raw or cooked I really felt disappointed by this dish. It was already such a small serving and that left no room for inconsistencies. The sourdough pita bread was lacking sourdough flavor yet was perfect to get up the left over mix of flavor in bottom that was well combined. Nothing seemed to combine well. My friend had the xo fried rice and while it was more flavorful and filling, we both felt it needed something else to add to the flavor. I expected an umami flavor of which was lacking. The welcome mimosas along with other drinks (one in a melon and Kentucky Brunch) were very good and the beautiful bar set up just adds to the experience. The redeeming food factor was the snacks outside, many people felt they were better than the whole meal. Continued having good drinks and had some PHENOMENAL fresh pizza and tarts. So while I am not so convinced to return brunch food wise, definitely for drinks, pizza, and to possibly try something for dinner if the quality can accommodate for the price. The donut holes were yummy and the raw oysters were a hit! Service was amazing I honestly don't think more than a few minutes passed without my server coming by checking on us to which I appreciated. She was very helpful and attentive to where all my needs. Overall for a pricey brunch I cannot currently justify the price based on the brunch food offerings. For improvements we thought the addition of pepper to the fried rice and maybe rice vinegar would improve it, along with consistent vegetables cooking patterns, and some consistency with flavor profile would enhance the turkish eggs. We've read good things about this restaurant and remembered the chef from her previous restaurant. We had a special offer from a local dining club, so that gave us the nudge we needed. Came for an early dinner on a weekday and selected a hightop when we made our reservation. The restaurant is a little hard to find -- it's in a research office park. As its name implies, the space is open with big windows and lots of plants. We ordered an appetizer of fried oysters, the market fish entree (flounder), the salumi pizza, and a dessert of pistachio ice cream with a raspberry shell. Food was very good (shout out to the pizza which had pepperoni and a hot honey drizzle). Our mistake was selecting the high top since it it served by the bartenders and they got real busy after we arrived. It took a long time to get our orders. One of the managers ended up taking our payment. They also offer brunch and we are interested in trying that out sometime. read more

I've been here twice and both times has left me wanting more. The portion sizes are pretty small for the price that you pay. The food tastes good and it's high quality, but again the portion size is pretty small. The service is excellent, and the staff are always polite and the ambience is very modern and eco-friendly. The restaurant is in a unique location and the all glass exterior adds to the unique experience of eating there. The reservation was for the bar and therefore we assumed they reserved seats but that did not appear to be the case. The hostess wasn't able to give us an estimate on the wait time. I cannot say enough about Glasshouse! We had the most incredible dinner - duck confit, pizza, small plates galore...all the finish it up with an insanely good slice of cheesecake. A colleague recommended glasshouse for a team dinner and what a great recommendation! GlassHouse is a lovely space: airy, greenhouse vibes obviously aimed to reflect the surrounding buildings (the North Carolina agriculture research center). The menu has a handful of entrees but pizza seems to be the main draw, and it's very good. I got the lobster pizza and it was amazing, the crust was perfectly chewy and the flavor profile was spot on (which can be a challenge for seafood pizza). The one non-pizza entree at our table was salmon and it looked perfectly prepared. I didn't try their cocktails, but the bar looked like a fun place for solo dining. For a starter, we had the brussel sprouts which are fried and had a very interesting taste. I'm still not sure if I loved them or disliked them. I got the chicken which was the perfect portion, no leftovers and I thought it was good but too salty. Our group enjoyed lunch here. Parking was a bit challenging but we found a spot on the other side of an industrial-looking office complex and walked, appreciative of the nice weather. The area is not set up to welcome/guide visitors who aren't familiar with that remote area of RTP. We figured it out. Food was delicious except for cold fries which returned with the remade burgers which didn't come out as ordered the first time. Took a group of 8 colleagues here for dinner, and it was absolutely phenomenal! Having a bigger party, we ordered some appetizers and it would have been good for us to get two of each for the table (our waitress was lovely but would've been nice for her to recommend that to us as we aren't familiar with the serving sizes). All the food was absolutely amazing and the space was great. Amazing vibes, didn't feel crowded even with having many of the tables full, and it was good conversation. Sometimes it can be tough to talk with a group that big at a restaurant / with other groups or music, but it was super easy to have convos across the table.
