Definitely one of the best restaurants in Orange County! We have been followers of Chef Rob Wilson's cuisine for years and were thrilled when we learned he was opening up a restaurant in Dana Point. Have now been twice and tried several dishes on the menu and everything has been epic. Favorites have been the calamari, ahi tuna, sword fish and maple sweet potatoes. The cocktails are fantastic as are the desserts. We also had friendly knowledgeable servers. Overall a great dining experience with some of the best, most creative food. We were really looking for a late seafood lunch, but decided to wait at Glasspar until they opened at four. We were among the first to be seated, but the place was PACKED when we left around 5:45 (doubt we would have been seated without a reservation much later). Every. Single. Plate. Was. Exceptional. Brussels sprouts were flavorful and perfectly cooked. My father, who typically only eats a few of them otherwise, took several spoonfuls. Three entrees: IPA fish & chips (regular shoestring fries) for dad, lobster roll for mom, and the "Catalina Flyer" for me (with duck fat fries). VERY generous servings across the board. The "Desserted Island" was impossibly delectable. The best seafood restaurant meal I've had in at least four years. The tagline "thoughtfully sourced, respectfully prepared and creatively presented" is used in both descriptions AND recent magazine/newspaper reviews, so it felt a bit pretentious. There is nothing pretentious about this gem of a restaurant. The price point is similar to nearby seafood restaurants, but a universe away in preparation and flavor. I wouldn't be remotely surprised if this place gets a Michelin star if they keep it up. read more

Ok ... so full disclosure I wanted to hate Glasspar. The first time we came we made reservations for 6 at 5 PM. They took the reservation wrong and said 5 at 6 PM. I caught the reservation mistake on the phone and corrected it. Apparently they didn't fix the reservation in the system. We showed up they couldn't find seat us after standing around for another 15 minutes. I had my older parents with me and we ended up having to head home as we couldn't find anywhere with a table. My wife still wanted to try it so we went this evening. This was the best seafood meal and the first I've enjoyed in Orange County in a very very long time. We had the Balboa to start. With the exception of the shooters (to much alcohol) it was GREAT. The Oysters were out of this world. All the seafood was fresh and still had that great briney flavor. Next we had the Calamari. They soak it in buttermilk for 24 hours and man it showed. The batter had good flavoring they aioli was amazing. We moved on to the Parpadelle WOW. The homemade nooodles were soft and velvety, the bur blanc was tasty but not heavy. The toasted garlic pulled it all together. We also had the mushrooms and duck fat fries. Man they were great to. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly. Done but still springy in texture. Last the service. Oh my god the service. Our waitress Sunshine was amazing as was the manager Marcos. No one took sauces or plates away while we were eating which I appreciated. Finally somewhere good to eat Seafood in South Orange County! read more

There are many options for places to eat in Dana Point. I am so glad we chose Glasspar. We sat at the oyster bar and where entertained and welcomed by the chefs there. Josh made each type of oyster sound like a poem. I wasn't an oyster girl before this visit...but Now I am! Josh and Will were kind and fun and kept a clean and organized workspace. Food safety at its finest!! Plus the added bonus of watching them use the blow torch for the French Onion soup. I wish I had taken photos, but I was having too much fun. We also had the cod and salmon. Delicious. Perfectly cooked with beautiful presentations. We finished off the meal with a vegan and gluten free "Sea Treasures" (I think!) dessert that was not too sweet, a little tang and texture. The perfect end to a fab night. Just had our first dinner here and will be back, again and again. The food was spot on and the local chef owner has a pedigree that explains how good it was. I did the clams and the french fries and it will be hard to branch out on future visits they were so good. I have faith though and will fore myself to try other things on the menu. Love this place! Great food and great service thanks to Jess and Max at the bar! Been here many times and go-to's are oysters, lobster roll with a mai-tai. I am pretty picky about eating raw oysters but this plus delivers with a fresh and tasty selection of oysters from around the US and Baja. Lobster roll is stacked with lobster and buttery goodness. Exactly what you want if you are in the mood for a lobster roll. The offer duck fat fries that are really good but their regular fries also do the trick. I think they make their own ketchup that's pretty tasty. If a mai-tai is not your thing, they have a great selection of beers, wine and cocktails. I do recommend giving the mai-tai a try though. It's unique and delicious. We usually swing by for lunch but recently had dinner there for the first time and it was also wonderful. I had a cod dish with coconut curry. We have been here several times now. Our first experience was sitting on the patio. Service was good, not great. A large baby or bridal shower was occurring at a nearby table and the manager was sure to spend 20 minutes chatting with them while the other tables were slow served due to the servers being overwhelmed. I did enjoy their oysters and the food was good, just slow. The last couple of times we have gone in for brunch, we have elected to sit at the bar. GREAT experience. Service is great, very friendly bartenders. We enjoy the smoked salmon avocado toast and the egg Benedict. They have some great cocktail options as well. Did I mention the bartenders, they are experts and were trying new cocktail combinations and sharing their thoughts about what they were trying out. Horrible service this weekend. We were ignored by servers, bartenders, etc. When we finally ordered a drink from the bartender, we got a fake smile and never received our drinks. I understand if you are a server or bartender and in the weeds but ignoring customers who are polite and big tippers is NOT the way to go. Food is nothing special and overrated. We came here to celebrate our anniversary on 6/8/2021. It was our best meal of the year so far. Alex was our server and he was excellent. My husband had the salmon and I tried the scallops. Everything was cooked perfectly. We started with the octopus and some great cocktails. It's a beautiful restaurant and the food was outstanding. Walked in and The hostess was a complete bitch. She discouraged us for dinning there. Open tables all over the place but they were only for complete dining only. Did not offer any other options. We walked across the parking lot to Jimmy Famous and where met with a gracious greeting. We were seated right away and had a great experience. Had a fabulous dinner the other night at Glasspar. One of my friends was wheelchair bound and they did everything to make her comfortable. Comprehensive wine and cocktail list. Everything with a twist. The food was excellent. First the chef offered us an amuse-bouche--a delicate ceviche with a slightly spicy pop. Delicious salads and appetizers. Very fresh oysters. I enjoyed the homemade gnocchi. My husband loved the lobster; the steaks were done to perfection. Ella, who took care of our table went all out as did Marcos, the manager. So disappointing. Second time here. Went with a group of friends. I started with the Hamachi Crudo - usually one of my favorites at sushi restaurants. It smelled and tasted fishy, like it wasn't fresh. Main entrees come - I had the seabass special. Seabass is one of my favorite fish, and it should be cooked so that it's like butter and almost falls apart when you eat it. Mine was totally overdone and almost tough, chewy. My hubby got the swordfish. It was also tough, smelled and tasted like it was not fresh. Chocolate dessert with toasted coconut was good. Service was very good. Accommodating waiters. The ambience is relaxing. The drinks are not watered down. They only have booths, no large tables for parties. They set up long tables in the entranceway bar for about 25 people which they called an event room. They made the best of it. They served 3 small frozen tasting appetizers that you might find in a cheap market. The salad was not worthy of a special event. No Choice of dressing. The steaks were not moist and were overcooked. Even Sizzler asks how you how would like your steak cooked. No one had a choice of how you would like it done. Vegetables were roasted but not anything special. The mashed potatoes were good. The dessert was so amateur. A Carmel chocolate pudding cup with an Oreo cookie stuck on top. Like from a recipe on a side box of pudding mix a child helped make. Ok, so we've all had our share of cafeteria cuisine however, not for the extravagant prices they charge. They think they're Ruths Chris. It's just a cheap cafe. read more

The ambiance is the first attraction to entering this beautiful establishment. However, the food and libations were top notch! What an art they have created here combining flavors and textures. The octopus, scallops, and swordfish were spectacular. To top It off our waiter was highly knowledgeable about everything to offer and gave excellent descriptions and recommendations. Finally got to try Glasspar. Let me tell you if you enjoy oysters, this is the place to come. By far the absolute best oysters I've ever had. I had the fish n chips. They were very good. I've had better but the quality of the fish and batter was good. My wife had the octopus and loved it. Wasn't enough of it though. Also has a delicious Cesar's Salad. Kind of like a wedge style. Delicious. Dessert was the chocolate butter cake with the most incredible coconut ice cream I've ever had. I'll be back for sure. My husband and myself were extremely disappointed and mildly horrified at the poor service coupled with unsatisfactory food at this 'fine-dining' restaurant. We may have been a little more forgiving of the small, overpriced plates had the hostess been more on the gracious and friendly side. Or perhaps we would have considered this less than highway robbery had the $38 plate left us feeling full and satisfied with wholesome flavors and unique tasting notes; this was not the case. An AMAZING dinner with my Valentine @glasspardanapoint We absolutely love this restaurant. The food is delicious and artistically presented with vibrant colors from sauces made from ingredients like curry or red peppers. I had an octopus appetizer that melted in my mouth, yes octopus! Salmon and sliced scallops with cream and fresh dill, and lobster that was cooked to perfection! I love to cook and home and try to emulate the chef's creativity and skill but it's never near as tasty! If you haven't been to Glasspar yet, I highly encourage you to go! You'll be glad you did! Make sure you order a craft cocktail from the bar too! The G-3 is one of our favorites! They have great outdoor seating with heaters that will keep you nice and toasty AND they are open for brunch!
