I hired Glaze Master to resurface my peach bathtub. The technician arrived and proceeded to set up his equipment. Within fifteen minutes I heard some strange noises, went to investigate and found the man frantically plunging away at the bathtub drain. As soon as he saw me he said that there was a massive clog in the drain, which was strange because I took a shower that morning and everything was fine. Since he couldn't get out whatever he dropped down there he just continued on. Two and a half hours later he finished and I handed him a check for $325. As instructed I waited over 48 hours to let the epoxy cure. After two days of using the tub I saw that not only did it take 45 minutes for the tub to drain, but there was cracking around the entire drain. I called the company and spoke with James Zeffield the owner. At first he said that he wasn't sure what he could do for me??? After we spoke for a while he agreed to stop by and repair the cracking. At that time I also mentioned the mysterious clog and that I tried several things to try to remove it. He said that he was sorry and told me that he didn't know much about plumbing but he would try to do something when he came to make the repair. Jim came to my home and brought tools to see if you could do anything about the clog, tried and failed and then said that he would take responsibility for the repair. I thanked him for being an honest business owner and standing by the work done by his company. Well, I hired a plumber and had to pay $329 for them to spend an hour trying to dislodge whatever the technician dropped and/or poured down the drain. While the plumber was there I also had him replace the vanity and what he found was unbelievable. A 12" x 12" section of the outside of the tub next to the vanity looked like it had been smeared on with a hand. (see photo). Since the plumber was there for two services, they said that they would waive the service fee, which is what I was hoping for to keep the cost down. I mentioned that to Jim and he was appreciative. I scanned the invoice and attached it, along with the photo of the tub, to the first email I sent to Jim. Apparently that is where his word ended. After waiting a week for a response, leaving two phone messages and sending a second email, he has never replied. The entire experience costs me a total of $654 and left me with damaged plumbing and a terrible resurfacing job. So much for standing by your work.

Excellent example of a poor job.

My fiancée and I are renting out a pretty decent condo. However, our tub was about as gross as anyone could imagine; neither one of us ever took a bath in it, we just used the shower. The tub was peeling off huge flakes around the drain hole; caulk around the tub was molding. Well, you get the picture. Our landlord, who is pretty good about getting matters taken care of, hired this guy because of the reviews from Yelp. Jen called the company also and was able to get answers to her questions and it was decided this would be the business to go with. On the day of the scheduled appointment, the first guy to come out was half an hour late (we were told later that the woman who took our address had put in the wrong information). The poor guy had parked more than a block away and had to carry his heavy equipment to our place. At the time, there was nowhere to park on our street because of construction. To make matters worse for him he had to trek three flights to our landing. He was visibly irritated (I know I probably would have been as well). But he reeled it in after I informed him that he could park in our enclosed parking area. At the onset of working on our tub he explained everything he was about to do and that when he was finished another guy would come in to complete the process. I found this to be very helpful because at one stage it got very loud (we both work from home). After he finished with his part of the work and was packing up to leave, he informed me the other guy would be there at 12:00. It was about 11:30 when he finished and left. The other guy, who was the owner, didn't show up until 2:30. When I asked him what happened, he said he was at another job and that the other guy should have told us he was going to be late. He then blamed his secretary for giving the wrong address to the first guy also. I didn't say anything and actually helped him bring his equipment up the stairs. At no point did I show any disagreement; I just wanted him to get the job finished. After he completed his part of the job and left, I looked at the final results and was not impressed. There was pooling around the inside of the tub. You know how you can sometimes over spray using spray paint? Well that was how part of the tub was looking. There were also sharp nodules and tiny pocked-marked holes in other parts of the tub. I immediately called him to come back, which he did. All he did, however, was sand down the pooled area and the nodules. For the nodules that were sanded down along with the tiny holes, he patched up the work by dabbing the white finish on each area. So now the inside floor of the tub where he had to go over is no longer uniform and shiny because of the sanding. The tub looks spotted. Also, around the inside of the tub there were still sharp pins of finish that were sticking up; nothing really noticeable until you actually rubbed your hand across the surface. Imagine sitting with your back on that kind of surface. Need your back scratched? It was the worst job I had ever seen from looking at other refinished jobs online. I had some additional issues with this quality of work, namely that I think they should have taken down all the paper and tape they left all over the bathroom. Further, I had to wet-sand down the areas that were still prickly to the touch. I also had to re-caulk around the edges of the tub. From other reviews I noted he took down the tape and did the re-caulking; this was part of his process. I guess he picks and chooses who gets the full benefits of his services. We sure didn't. The landlord tried to call him back and left messages, but he never returned the call. Well, for $375 I guess you pay for what you get, and now I just wonder how much veracity is in some of these businesses on Yelp with all the stellar reviews. I would not recommend this business to anyone.

Wow, thanks Jim for the awesome job. He may be busy but that speaks to the quality of his work. I had two tubs glazed today and they look great!

GlazeMaster left paint all over my bathroom floor

GlazeMaster is no "master" at all. The poor quality of their service have cost me much time, energy, and money. The first time GlazeMaster came over, they left a lot of fish eyes and big drips on my bathtub, which had been a perfectly smooth, original bathtub that had been rarely used in our guest bathroom. After we saw the result of the first spraying, we asked that they come back to get the job done right, who only made it way worse by dabbing white paints over those poolings and drips. Now it feels prickly to the touch and uneven to the eye. They claim to offer 5-year warranty, yet when we insisted they come again to re-spray the tub, the owner of GlazeMaster Jim replied me with a one-word text message:"No". Um, that's the kind of service attitude you provide for your clients? We did get the refund, but that's not the point. Now we'll have to get the coat stripped off before we can get it repainted, which would cost us twice as much. Not to mention GlazeMaster left paint all over my bathroom floor - they were supposed to tape the floor well with paper, yet these genius left a huge strip of floor uncovered before they started spraying. As a result, the paint was left on the floor and impossible to get rid of now. I would not recommend the service of GlazeMaster to anybody.

They did touch up work on a shower after the shower doors were removed. It looked like new afterwards. We were very pleased.

Contacted 2times w/photos of tub. No reply? Again, a supplier that evidently doesn't want or need the business. Very frustrating!

After evaluating the scratches on the tub, Jim suggested a cheaper option as opposed to reglazing! Did an excellent job.

Great service, nice guy. We didn't actually need the full reglaze so they did a chemical wash and it looks great!
