Shame!! I booked Jim to strip and refinish my tenant's tub. He told me very specifically over the phone that the refinishing was $275, plus an extra $75 for stripping if the tub had previously been glazed for a total of $350. When it was time to pay he said "That will be $375." I asked why because he had quoted me $350. He said "Well, it's an extra $25 to caulk the tub." (The caulking consisted of him running a bead of caulk around the top of the tub with his finger.) I was so turned off by his last minute bogus shakedown that I am not going to give him repeat business for additional units. read more

When I set the appointment, I was concerned because there was only a few places that did bathtubs, and Jim was cheaper than some. But, after talking to him I decided that if he did this for 28 years, he must be good. Jim was prompt, professional and clean. But the best part was that the bathtub that looked like it should have been thrown out before he came, looks brand new after he was done! It is clear that he takes his job very seriously. I am still amazed that our bathtub looks brand new. Also, he was able to match it perfectly to the toilet and the tile. There was a small fee for that, but it was worth it. For no additional charge he can do it in several basic colors. He kept the house clean. When he was done, he left instructions, just like the hospital gives you. read more

Normally, I would only write a review if I worked with the company, but I never got the chance. :( I had money saved to have my bathtub and fully tiled bathroom reglazed and regrouted. I sent two emails, and called 6 times leaving messages, detailed, each time. Not one phone call back. I am really sad. :( Please find a way to return people's phone calls or messages. I understand people are busy and things happen when you're a business owner, but to not give one courtesy call of "I've got it and I'm getting to you." That's completely unacceptable. read more

I would not recommend this company to anyone. The person came to do the work just shy of a year ago. The person was not very approachable or friendly. When the job was done, they took the paper down off and some particles fell on the wet tub and it created a spot. The person showed it to me and said it should be fine, just let it dry for 24 hours and it'll wipe off. I followed all the instructions and there was a clear spot left where the particles fell. I called them back several times with no response or call back. Within a couple of months, we started to get bubbles in the tub, and again no one would return my calls or text messages. I am not searching for another company to fix their poor job. read more

I was on the fence about doing a full bathroom renovation for one of the units in the 2-flat building I own, but after having some major expenses on the basement unit- it made it pretty clear that a tub resurfacing on the one was all I could afford at the moment. I'm not the type to do things on the cheap, so they're pricing left me right on the line of not knowing if I could trust good work to be done. After the great responsiveness on my first call to them and being able to get scheduling taken care of really easily, the work was just done today and I couldn't be happier. It wasn't Jim himself but one of his guys- Curty (sp?)- who was great. Great with me the homeowner and with the tenants of the unit. We figured out that we were replacing a multiple-times refinished tub and for that reason the tub would need to be Bondo-d before the actual resurfacing, which is time intensive and requires more material and labor- but our price didn't change and (unlike the last guys) they took the time to clean, re-clean, bond-o, sand, then re-clean to make sure of a perfect new surface- the job was done right. I highly recommend these guys. Even if your goal is to save money- this is one of the (apparently very few- trust me as a new landlord) companies you can trust to do really solid work at a fair price. I've had a year full of contractor challenges and this is some of the best money I've spent all year. read more

ZERO STARS. Jim is terrible, unprofessional, does shoddy work and will not honor a warranty. He glazed my tub and I thought it was OK...until it started peeling after 1.2 years and then he refused to come back and honor his work. I called him several times. First he said he was "injured and to call back in 6 weeks," then I called in 6 weeks and he said he was "out of the country" and when I texted him asking him to honor his work, he ignored me. I left him 3 more voicemails over 9 weeks following him being "out of country" and he has refused to return any calls or honor his work. Did a beautiful job on a tub that was previously done by two other tub refinishing services over the last 10 years and failed. If you have a tub that you want to look brand new, call Jim. My tub had worn down and looked dirty all the time, although it was perfectly clean. I called Jim, who answered right away, and we set up an appointment. (Which is different than some places, where you call and leave a message and nobody calls you back). Jim came out with his son and within two hours my bathtub looked brand new and beautiful! Jim was efficient and quick, but took the time to explain the procedure and any questions we had. I don't even want to close my shower curtain now that my tub looks so beautiful. An added bonus is that Jim guarantees the work for five years. My only regret is that I didn't do this earlier! Gave Jim a call on Saturday morning. I explained we had a fiberglass tub with a hole punched on the side of tub. He estimated a $165 to do repair. Schedule call for Friday, Jim arrived on time and within an hour and a half he filled hole and repainted the patch. Looks great and a perfect match on paint.
