I have to highly praise Tom who has been our initial contact with the company. We never felt he was…read moretrying to push us, or glossing over some rather thorny issues that cropped up with the project we wanted to build. He generously spent two visits trying to help us solve them and honestly educate us through his own experiences as a contractor, dealing with city inspectors, and the extra financial challenges older properties potentially face built before current codes. He certainly made us want to work with MY Home Builders as a trustworthy company if we can pull this project together because he specifically addressed the myriad of details. We so appreciated this rather than rushing partway into the project and then either be told "oops here's an expensive problem" we didn't discuss (we've had that happen on three projects with other companies that went outrageously over budget), or get shut down by an inspector after we've paid for a very expensive building permit and ripped into the building. Thank you, Tom!

That alone is huge since it's an industry that has a reputation of adding 50% to the time commitment but not with this group. Our contractor, Liron was incredibly helpful. He replied to questions quickly, gave realistic expectations and gave great feedback. Our first week he set up a group access on the notes app. As I found different interests in lighting, tile, flooring, etc. I'd add links to the notes. He'd make important observations and suggestions helping me before I made purchase commitments. This saved so much time and allowed for quick communication. Was a brilliant idea. Liron also works closely with Maya, a truly incredible Forperson. She really, really knows her stuff. No nonsense, get it done. It's very difficult to remodel your home but I had a team of experts to help.

(Note: The furniture bar cabinets and library were added later on and were not part of this contractor's project). From start to finish, the entire team was extremely professional, dedicated, and highly skilled. On the very first day we met, Nir helped design a 3D view of the project that perfectly captured exactly what we had envisioned. Throughout the build, we had a weekly walkthrough with Nir to check if we had any questions or concerns, which kept communication incredibly clear. Elba was also an excellent project coordinator who was always available to answer our questions and keep everything on track daily. The construction crew themselves were clearly very experienced and knowledgeable; they followed our approved plans meticulously and were happy to accommodate extra requests along the way. You can truly gauge the quality of their work by the fact that every single city inspector visit passed on the first try--nothing ever had to be rescheduled or redone because everything was built perfectly to plan. Additionally, all of the finishes--from the drywalling to the trim work and paint--were done with high-quality materials and top-tier craftsmanship. Overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend them!

I was first referred to Preferred Builders by my tax preparer, Happily, my first repair/remodel turned out wonderfully so I immediately started a remodel on my own home. Scope of work: remove all the carpeting in the house and install laminate plank flooring in those areas. The travertine flooring in the entry, kitchen and hallway had large craters which collected dirt and water residue after washing. I had the floor steamed, the craters filled and the whole floor resealed. I had a gasline installed in the kitchen and a new gas oven installed. I also had a complete bathroom remodel which included removing a huge jacuzzi tub and installing an elegant and safe walk in shower. For the bathroom Nir listened to my concerns and needs and then gave me two 3-D renderings of my options. Elba was fabulous and fast with permits, a purchase list and provided weekly job schedules and updates. I have now completed this remodel and I can't be happier. My Preferred Builders team was pure gold! I highly recommend Nir, Elba and Orel, the Foreman. Orel was caring and his experience was invaluable, Roman, (drywall, moldings, paint, flooring) Carlo (beautiful tile work) and Abnir were all professional, caring and kind. My remodel was reasonable and fast. I definitely recommend Preferred and I already have.

As retired seniors, we had been thinking about some small upgrades to our home -- both for esthetic…read moreand personal safety reasons. Our exterior paint had faded significantly over the last 25+ years and looked dull and boring. Inside, the kitchen and bathrooms were well worn from decades of renter abuse when we'd lived out of state, and we'd always worried about the electrical wiring and service capacity of our 1950s-era home. Normally, we ignore solicitors and flyers, but a knock on our door and brief conversation piqued our interests and we agreed to meet with Build Force Remodeling's representative the next day. Honestly, we just wanted to get an idea about how much a new exterior paint job, kitchen and master bathroom remodel might cost and if we could afford it. The following day, we met with Steve Morris and his associate, Benjamin. After showing them our kitchen and bathroom, we discussed several options regarding the scope of work, materials, etc. and finally got a cost estimate. Initially, we balked at the cost due to what we believed were our financial constraints of living on a fixed income. Steve asked about our mortgage and duration of ownership, suggesting that we might be able to refinance our home loan and use our equity to pay for the project with no out-of-pocket expenses. This brightened our outlook, and we then discussed adding a complete electrical rewiring and capacity upgrade. All in all, we determined that the expanded project was "doable", and we signed a contract. Demolition work began immediately and we were impressed with the care they showed handling our furniture and belongings. The exterior painting crew, led by "Francisco", did a fabulous job that included replacing rotted wood, patching broken stucco. We love the new Forest Green color and the "curb appeal" alone is awesome! The interior remodel work was expertly done by "Diego" who's personal attention to craftsmanship, detail, and our customer satisfaction overwhelmed us! "Shay" and his team of electricians made several helpful suggestions to the rewiring work that provided not only greatly improved lighting throughout, but also improved functional access to outlets, identified previously unknown branch circuits, and greatly increased our home's service capacity! My wife and I are thrilled with the end results and wish to recognize and commend the entire Build Force Remodeling team for their help to realize our dreams. Everyone from the project managers, construction craftsmen, office support staff, finance personnel treated us with respect and gave us their personal attention.  Build Force Remodeling has earned our highest recommendation!!

If they respondent had taken the time to read my review, then he would have seen that I cancelled the contract before the work had begun, so there would be no invoice or completed contract in their system. I was very clear and detailed with my review about the details. The HIS (Home Improvement Salesperson) that came to my home was Yael Rosenbaum. I have attached a short text thread from her, after my visit. I also included a screenshot showing that she was unlicensed at the time she came to my house and only got licensed as the result of me filing a claim with the California State Contractors Board. In addition, I have copies of the contract and other paperwork, yet they "have no record of me". More lies. In my initial review, I also included a copy of the letter from the CSLB confirming that BFR had committed violations, so to try and take a stance that you don't know who I am, or have any record of me, is completely nonsensical. Another lie. If this doesn't reinforce to you, what kind of a company they are, then I don't know what will. Do better.

The pavers and driveway are honestly stunning - our neighbors have given us so many compliments already! The team was easy to work with, showed up when they said they would, and explained the process clearly along the way. Communicating over Whatsapp with them was great. We went back and forth proposing solutions to the drainage issues and where to put the stairs - they really listened to all our ideas and improved them. Their proposed amazing drainage solutions are effective and work great. The quality of their work and planning was top tier. They were respectful of our property and left the place clean when the job was done. It's not easy to find contractors you trust, but these guys absolutely delivered. We're extremely happy with the results and would recommend them without hesitation.

Later, "Jacob" called me back later and expressed condescending concern that I had ONLY a $150K budget. I told him that's where the budget starts, not ends and asked him what the true cost was. He responded back that it's between $300 and $450 a square foot. So I told him, "Okay, if my calculations are correct, if I go with $350 a square foot so I'm not at the rock bottom, and I multiply that by 600 sq ft for a small ADU, that is roughly $210K for a price starting point with your company?" "Well no it's not exactly... "Then what did I miss?" "Well there's all sorts of other things blah blah blah..." Overall the tone was condescending and he made it clear that I didn't know what I was talking about, when in fact I have 15 years experience as a home designer that designs and budgets facelifts on houses that are about to go up for sale. I have dealt with contractors for many, many years. Eventually I got fed up with his tone and told him to cancel the appointment. I highly recommend him. The crews they brought in were also fantastic. We had many different workers for various parts of the project, and almost all of them were very polite and friendly, even if their English wasn't perfect. This was a much better experience than many of my past renovations for both my business and home. I can't recommend them enough. Communication is crucial in renovation projects, and there are bound to be times when expectations don't quite match reality. There were also times when we wanted to change something after it had already been installed. During these typically stressful situations, Bar was always patient and kind. He would explain things to us and discuss solutions. I'm truly grateful for their work and would definitely hire them again for future renovations.

We were clear we wanted a quote and their understanding of the project, costs etc. Waited for several days and finally got an incomplete quote with several items missing for scope of work. I contacted the project manager....he apologized and said he will go back and detail out the remaining items....after another 2 days, we got an even shorter quote with many items missing and price went down by $17K. The updated quote included kitchen cabinets which surprised me how with inclusion of cabinets, the price of entire project will go down by almost $30K+. I do not trust this company and doesn't seem like a reliable company to deal with.
