Honey, what are you even DOING in Valley Glen? It's a peaceful, quiet neighborhood canyon filled with the upscale and their Harvard-educated servants, and they don't need the lurid likes of you slumming it up, my love. (or DO they?) -- but in all seriousness (really, shut up now!), this quiet, through-the-mountain shortcut dividing the West Valley (like, y'know?) from Beverly Hills (9021-HO!) is punctuated near Mulholland Drive by a sleepy little liquor shoppe whose calling card is curiously shaped like a Svedka bottle and lottery scratcher with an ice cream sandwich cradled in the nook of your elbow as you sashay your way to the cashier knowing "this is my last chance to get slizzered before hitting Sunset..." Whether you're hitting The Roxy, Whiskey A Go-Go, Viper Room, House of Blues, or your ex-who-you-still-bang's condo, Glen Market is the perfect pit stop to preflight it. You know what I mean ;-). Prices are high, but not Las Vegas high or Midtown Manhattan high. There's an ATM reader but they prefer cash. "They" being the pleasant young woman who usually works there, or the gruff-but-friendly guy who sometimes stands outside like ersatz security to make sure you don't take too many complimentary LA Weeklies or apartment guides. I think they might be married, or going out. ANYnoneofmyeffingbusinessway... The store's open 'till 10pm, even on Sundays, so Glen is there for you like your boyfriend/girlfriend in middle school never was, and he won't move to another town over the summer and not tell you, either. Also there's a small selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, and even baby food in case you want to go back to being a responsible mom after coming home at three in the morning all rocked out and crazy. Our local market, honestly, we come here only when we don't feel like driving any further. The store is pretty dirty and dusty, it could really use an overhaul. Prices are of course, too high, but it will do in a pitch. Not much terms of service, but the convenience works in a pinch. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the employee of this business. I am a girl with Crohns Disease and in the middle of the canyon I needed to use the bathroom. I have a medical card stating that I need to use restrooms when not available to the public and the employee refused to let me into the bathroom. From woman to woman this is unacceptable. Worst store ever!!!!! My boyfriend went to take $200 out of the ATM when he had significantly more money than that. The ATM CHARGED the 2.50 fee printed a receipt saying the balance that he took out 200 and got charged the fee. But no cash came out!!!!!!!!!!! We told the cashier and then I tried with my debit card for the smallest amount which was $20. I also got charged the fee and the receipt said it gave me the cash when it didn't!!! The cashier watched the entire thing and said "wow it did it to you also. Let me call the owner." She proceeds to call the owner of the store and explained she saw that both of us withdrew money had receipts showing that we had the funds but the cash was never dispensed. The cashier then tells us to come back at 10am lmfao which was over 2 hours later. Granted we love locally and have been here A MILLION times but still. Wtf????????? The owner told the cashier over the phone for us to come back with our receipts and she would give us the cash. (Obviously there is also a million cameras in the store) so my boyfriend goes back at 9:30 and oh look the owner is there even though she said 10am?? Lol shady much. The owner then proceeds to tell my boyfriend it's not her problem and to "dispute it with his bank." we call the bank in front of the owners face and ask if we should call the police ect and even the bank told us the store should of NEVER charged us the merchant fee since we never got any money out of the atm because clearly something shady is going on!!! The bank then said on speaker phone that the owner would need to refund us the merchant fee the bank would only refund us the actual amount that we withdrew from our accounts. Well the cheap ass owner refused to refund us each the 2.50$ merchant fee! Lol what a joke. We don't care about 6 dollars but it's the fact that we have lived here in the area FOR YEARS and come to this store MULTIPLE times a week yet they can't refund us 6 dollars!!!!!!!! Clearly they are running some type of scam because no atm should say it dispenses money when it didn't!!!!! And charge the merchant fee when nothing happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we have spent so much money here over the last few years multiple times a week to be screwed over like this and disrespected is damn near a joke!!!! Oh and when the owner did come in and we asked for the refund she said "oh I misunderstood the cashier when she called. Oh I never said I would refund you." Lol yeah okay lady. Worst mart and worst customer service been coming here for years friends have a house a block away they wont be coming here anymore either and neither will i the new owners tell there employee to kick Customers out of there parking lot even after spending $25 on food which i simply was gonna eat in my car safely parked. They said you can't be in the parking lot even as a paying Customer who came here weekly really big mistake and at the time i was the only car in the entire parking lot thats just horrible customer service! Love this pit stop. Used it many a time to grab some booze or goodies while cutting up BG to get to Mullholand (which is, secret of secrets, perhaps the best way to get to HW/Los Feliz/East Side when all hell is breaking loose traffic-wise on Sunset and Hollywood Blvd during rush hour, not to mention it's a more beautiful drive)...the people who run the store are delightful and they have a nice selection of goods. read more

For a small market that's on a narrow windy road in the middle of Beverly Hills, it's not bad. Great service, great selection, I couldn't say much for the "Market" side of things, but it does have a great selection of liquor and beer. But slightly higher priced than other larger stores, but that's expected. If you're looking for that great bottle of wine for dinner or that expensive bottle of whiskey for the boss, they'll have it here. It's worth stopping by - it took me 10 years to finally stop by here and I totally see myself stopping by again. Plus they're open till 11pm which is great on those Fri/Sat night trips between the westside and the valley. enjoy. read more

This little market has every kind of wine, beer, liquor, and spirits you could think of. I also like the fact that it's off of Beverly Glen Blvd. Of course it's a little pricier than your typical liquor store in the hood, but it's because of the area. Duh. read more

Convenient little mart on beverly glen. They've got pretty much all you need. The parking lot can be a little crowded or a pain, but if I need something while I'm in the area, easy spot to stop at. They also sell hard liquor and wine for those who live in the area. Its not like there is a convenient grocery story (chains like whole foods, ralphs, etc) close by, so this place works out for everyone who lives on beverly glen. The register person is always super nice and I always grab a LA weekly when I stop here. read more

The Glen Market is about a mile from my house and they have my favorite Kombucha, yay! It is over priced but it's okay because it's convenient and employees are super friendly. I love that this Market is so close and it has a great selection. Everyone is super nice that works there. They offer delivery for $20 but unfortunately when you call, the employees have no idea what they have on their shelves. I spent 20 minutes describing items and telling the guy where to find them.
