We accidentally discovered this gem while waiting for Sampa to open. We parked across the street and couldn't ignore the lively beats coming from the lot next door. Naturally, we followed the music... and wow, what a vibe! This place is such a vibe-y outdoor hangout spot. Super cute, super chill. The first thing you see? A full bar built into a refurbished 1954 Spartan Trailercoach and yes, it's as cool as it sounds, serving beer and craft cocktails. The music was bumpin', the energy was up, but it still had this cozy, intimate feel. Perfect combo. My boyfriend and I both got the Paloma and we snagged a spot in the back to catch the DJ doing his thing. Our table was a little wobbly and my cocktail tipped! Such a bummer but the bartender didn't miss a beat. She sent someone to clean it up immediately and replaced my drink with a fresh one. Didn't catch her name but shoutout to her for the amazing service! There was a big group nearby just vibing, laughing, and living their best life. The whole place felt like a spontaneous backyard party you never want to leave. So glad we wandered in this is definitely a new fave. read more

Back at the resident for New Year's Eve a second year in a row. The bar tenders are so nice and make beautiful cocktails! I like the variety of drinks they have! They also had a good option this year! Yummy tacos, quesadillas and nachos were available for purchase. The staff was really on it, always making rounds to clear empty glasses outside. Fun 90's and 2000's music going all night. There were plenty of tables outside and quite a few heaters to keep you warm! So fun! DJ Libra was wonderful, music was uplifting and hitting the right vibe. Drinks were really good. The bartender, Becks, was really accommodating and patient. Frozen Strawberry lemonade cocktail - tasted exactly like a starburst, very sweet, but fun. I couldn't finish it. I've come to Resident for NYE for the past couple of years with my friend and it's always been a blast. We come earlier in the night to get prime seats by a heater so we're set for the night. There's vendors selling food throughout the night, but you're able to Uber Eats some McDonalds and Pizza to the bar as the night goes on when the drunchies kick in. read more

There is parking, but you either have to pay for nearby lots or go a few blocks away and park on the street. This is a fairly nice area, so I don't mind parking blocks away and walking. Really fun spot to grab a drink in the downtown LA area. I've been here a few times. At least once during the day to meet up with someone for a drink, and at least once during the night when they actually had a small show here with a musician that I was following (Porcelain Raft). The bartenders here are pretty efficient. The cocktails look good and the selection of spirits is solid, but I think I stuck to beers the times I was here. Just moved to LA and luckily landed here one night with my girlfriend for some late night fun. We love this place, coming for a day time function or night time slide we have a great time. Overall the crowd is always real expressive with their outfits, socially outgoing, and friendly. I like that there are options for an outside and indoor seating/dance floors. Having just moved from atx it's real cool that this place has so much talent coming through for entertainment. It was real nice seeing some artists from Texas make their way out here to put on. I always try to keep a good ear out for the music anywhere I choose to spend demon time at and this place is it. There isn't anything I don't love about this place. Staff and service is a 10/10. The bartenders are so friendly and staff comes around to pick up empty glasses and arrange for more seating throughout the night quickly. The drinks are AMAZING. Happy hour ends at 7 pm making beers $6 and cocktails $12. The inside doesn't open until 9 pm but the outdoor bar tending trailer is super cool (seen in photo). The margaritas and palomas are (rightfully) so popular that they are served on tap outside. I was nervous what the alcohol ratio would be like because of this but it was still yummy and gave a great buzz. The ambience is also 10/10 with an outdoor DJ playing chill music, string lights hanging across the patio, and lots of greenery throughout. It feels like a zen den hidden in the busy night life of the arts district. Location is great, given LA's reputation for parking. Right across from Urth Caffe, I never struggle to find parking by the Arts District Co Op. So much to do in this area! read more

Once you walk in, a space opens up to food trucks, a large outdoor dining area, there's a bar that looks like it was a club pre-covid that you can walk into to order your drinks as well. I've been here two times now and both around the same time of the year (January) however once pre-COVID and the other in 2023. Both times I've enjoyed my time here and they have a great outdoor patio seating. There's trees and nice space to seat near the fires going out there for a great place to drink. This last time I came here it was absolutely pouring outside so we had to have our drinks inside. The place was dead on a Monday night but understandable given it was about 5:30pm with a torrential downpour outside. They do have happy hour specials which is nice, and they also have margaritas and Paloma's on tap which is pretty cool. Will hopefully return sometime again! read more

New obsession! I had no idea this place existed before yesterday when I stumbled by after brunch. Me and a group of girlfriends checked it out and we could have stayed all day. Large outdoor space with big tables and lots of privacy. Drinks we easy to get at the trailer and there was never a line whenever we went up for more. We ordered two drinks - a canned Laguintas Maximus IPA and a mezcal drink (i think it was Como La Flor but might be wrong). Either way both were good. The mezcal one was really earthy and strong. Worth the price. The ambiance was a bit two sided for me. It was mellow and quiet at first like a lounge but as the night progressed it became more congested and loud like a club feel. The way this place operates is deeply disappointing. People are being removed without clear explanation, and when questioned, the staff respond in an unprofessional manner. Security behavior is especially concerning pulling out tasers unnecessarily when there was no aggression or threat on our part. This kind of response was completely uncalled for. Nights like that are no fun for me. You barely have room to dance. We also came to a 90s night and that was an great vibe and not as packed. I feel compelled to warn others about our experience at residency. My girlfriend, who doesn't drink much, ordered one drink here and quickly began exhibiting symptoms consistent with being drugged. This is not something we take lightly. We immediately sought medical attention. A bar should be a safe place to enjoy yourself, but what happened here was nothing short of horrifying. This rating is about experience: My partner and I ventured to check out this bar based on recommendation, and we were pleasantly surprised with our experience. We came in the evening, so the lights were strung up, and most of the heating aka the bonfire-like machines were working... and actually except ours! We bought our drinks and attempted to sit by one but it simply wasn't working. My partner ended up asking for help and one of the managers came out to assist us (Todd!). Long and fun story cut short: Todd couldn't quite get it to work (because I think the machine itself was busted), but he continued to take care of us the rest of the night that it felt like fam.
