We love Dr. Gries! He's calm, direct and offers great advice and direction for our new baby girl. The office team is always helpful and they really do a great job of keeping to schedule. Our little girl has made it a habit to evacuate once undressed for the visit.... generally on the office table but once right on the baby scale. We were embarrassed but the nurses laughed it off, assuring us it's a common occurrence :) We're always encouraged to breastfeed in the office after the visit- lifesaving when you have a hungry baby who recently emptied her tank. The front desk is always friendly, helpful and efficient. The offices are clean and brightly lit. The front office is decorated for the holidays and is very welcoming! We're grateful to have them helping us grow our tiny human :) read more

Advocate ruined this once wonderful place. It is not the same caring office it once was. I called today (which now you deal with very unhappy advocate operators and they are so surly and rude, you used to talk to the gals at the front desk who knew you) and I was not able to make an appointment with my daughters primary because "they aren't doing that for the rest of the summer". The doctors are all great as is the team of nurses who are very responsive. My frustration lies with their system. They continue to upgade or switch systems every year or so and they lose data and pull in data that is a decade or more old that should have been blocked to begin with. Seems it all has to be provided again every year. This just hit home for us when my son did not get his epi pen ordered over a month ago. It seems the epi pen provider was given data [my old number from over 11 years ago when we lived in Wisconsin]. Here is an example where health can be implicated due to sloppiness with a patients data. Please get your system upgrades right once and for all. read more

I've been increasingly disappointed in the practice since it has grown. Every time I go there I seem to have some type of issue! I use to refer friends/family to the practice but not anymore. Front office staff has declined (rude/not helpful), we never see "our" doctor anymore--even when you schedule WELL in advance. I can't stand that they charge for every single form that needs to be competed for school, camp, etc.. ($10 or more each form) it is expensive! Aren't doctors suppose to do this! never had any office ever do this. I went to this practice for personalized attention which no longer exists. I know others are disappointed too. read more

My two children were patients at this practice for 15 years. About two months ago, we had an appointment and were seven minutes late because of traffic. The nurse coldly told us we had to reschedule our appointment because we were late.My jaw was on the ground. I seriously could not believe someone would treat a customer like this after15 years. I never even got a call afterwards with any effort to retain us. These people absolutely disgust me. How cold and unappreciative they are in regards to loyal clients. We have been with Glenbrook Pediatrics for almost 7 years. I am saddened to read these negative reviews when this practice is as good as it gets. My daughter started with Dr. Walsh when she was in NICU in Evanston and we continued seeing all of their doctors over the years. With preemie asthma we clocked in 25 visits in one year alone. Yes, they have decent turnover in medical staff so it's not easy to constantly get used to someone new. But the ones we have been seeing for years are pleasant and professional. While Dr. Walsh is our favorite, Dr. Higgins and Dr. Gries are both phenomenal. We also see Dr. Singla on weekends/emergencies since he is new and has wonderful way with kids. Never in 7 years did I have an issue with their forms, staff, medication, etc. As a parent you have to take on responsibility to follow up on things so if you do your part they will do theirs. Front desk could use some improvements in customer service both when checking in and calling...Again difference between new staff and staff we have seen for 7 years now. Most important part of my review would be on quality of medical advice. These doctors are experienced, reasonable, very caring and firm in their advice and methodology so don't expect to push your way like most parents do. I learned so much from them on managing illness, medication, expectations etc. One thing that is true is that you have to book an appointment with the primary pediatrician months in advance. For emergencies it's anyone who is available, but I don't mind that since they are all great. read more

We have been going to this practice for 3 years now and have seen nearly all the doctors at one time or another, including Dr. Higgins, Dr. Groboski, Dr. Singla and Dr. Gries. They are all very competent, caring, and take the time to listen. I have never felt rushed during an appointment with any of these pediatricians. I also like that they are open seven days a week. For routine visits like physicals and checkups, I've found it's really helpful to schedule well in advance. For school medical forms, they get so many that it does take a while for them to process those-- about 10 business days after you hand it in. They'll mail it back to you or you can come pick it up. At check-ups, when our children get shots, oftentimes they will have two nurses come at once to help make the process go as quickly as possible. When you call, press 1 to make an appointment. I called this morning and spoke to the regular receptionist at the front desk, Jackie. I don't know what happened with the Yelp reviewer who said she spoke with an advocate operator; that wasn't my experience. They have a fish tank and a train table in the waiting room (it's missing a piece, but whatever) as well as ice pops for sore throats. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because it's not perfect (wait times for medical forms, not every doctor is there in the office every day, and some of the interior exam rooms are small). This is where medical schools should send students to learn how to actually practice medicine, beyond the science of the field. There have been some bumps in the road, with the take over by Advocate, but the physicians in this practice are what matter and they're outstanding. One benefit from the Advocate take-over is we no longer have to pay (out of pocket) for completion of school/sports medical forms. You're likely to cool your heels waiting, but when it's your turn to be seen, you too (or, more specifically, your child) will be given as much time and attention as needed; you will not be rushed through your appointment. Any concerns you raise will be addressed, in a meaningful and comprehensive fashion. The physicians in this practice are well-read and aware of "the latest" insights and information in all areas of pediatric practice. Our family began with Dr. Walsh, and she remains our preferred doctor; however, we've also seen many of the other physicians at this practice. Not a clinker in the bunch. read more

I just moved to the area and needed to see a pediatrician quickly for a suspected ear infection with my son. After striking out with other groups who wouldn't ate a new patient for a same day appointment (which is annoying), these guys fit me in right away. We are new to the area and hadn't found a pediatrician yet. I had tried two other times but got the brush off from two different offices. My daughter got sick and I needed to see someone immediately. I called the office at Lutheran General and the scheduled me for 1 week out after my daughter's ear had already ruptured. After going there and sending medical records, I decided to make more calls and am so glad I did. Glenbrook Pediatrics got us in within an hour and a half of my call at 3PM. Dr. Singla came in with a Grover puppet and did the voice. My daughter loved it. He was very nice and asked lots of questions. My son was a patient for about a year when the practice was bought by Glenbrook Peds. Our insurance was no longer accepted and we were never notified. After having 2 appointments we received a bill and when we called to discuss we were told it was not their responsibility to have to inform us! We appealed with our insurance company on the off chance they'd cover it and notified the office that it'd take some time. We recently learned that they sent our info to a collection agency- which is the 1st time in my life. Again we called the office and asked them why they didn't contact us first and we were told once again it's not their responsibility. Terrible experience. read more

Advocate, thanks for ruining this amazing practice! We have been going to this place for 6 years and since Advocate bought it the service went from 10/10 to 1/10! In the past I was able to get through to speak with a nurse within 3 minute wait on the phone. Now - you are lucky if they call you back in 3 hours! In the past I was able to schedule an appointment same day - not any more! And now I wanted to schedule a follow up appointment and the doctor (!) said it's not necessary! I walked in as a new patient, I stood by front of the desk for 30 seconds without a greeting, when the front desk lady finally looked up from her computer, we made eye contact and right when I thought she was going to greet me, she got up and continued her work, pulling charts etc. I was so offended, that I left. If this was the first impression of the office, i didn't want to know what the rest of the visit would have been like. Very unprofessional. I've been with Glenbrook Pediatrics for a while because of the proximity, the doctors had been very good, and my wife liked them when our kids were very young. Now the doctor we see is very good but the office and nursing staff are ridiculously inept. My son has been without his meds for a week 3 times in the last four months because of the silly call system and their lack of any effort. I have been left waiting in the office while 3 or 4 staff members mill around. None of them ask if they can help and when I speak up they give you the stink eye and tell you to wait or reluctantly help. Right now their phone system is down so they can't be reached. I've been trying to talk to someone for 5 days. You are always asked to leave a message and they rarely get back to you. I wish my son didn't like his doctor otherwise I'd be gone. You have to wait 2 months to schedule an appointment for a physical. Unfriendly staff on the phone. It is always a problem to get a form for school or camp, at least it is always for me. I wish I had negative stars to give.One of the staff members( front desk) harassed us for insurance or else she stated that pay for the services right on the spot. We have been coming to this practice since we moved here to Glenview , which is from 2010. The remarks made to us were hostile in nature. A bit of background , my son was suffering from fever and complaining about headaches.My wife was at the office with three kids and was asked to produce proof of insurance or call the insurance company right then and there to get our group ID and ID card information.What is wrong with this place?, last time doctors wanted to perform Jaundice test on my new born twice within a week , the needle for the test is really big , well it the sword of needles, my wife literary picked up my son and asked the nurse to leave. The only person we usually deal with is Dr Walsh and she is part time employee. I have made the same comment before , we do not like to come to a Doctor's office, it is not Toys R us or Six flags for us. We were already tensed with the trauma and our older kid being sick with a temperature , their staff chose to serve us with their hostile tone ,as if they completely objected to our existence in this world.
