Staying here was a good experience because of the the clean rooms, friendly staff and how helpful they were. Chris is great and he toasted our complimentary pop tarts to perfection. Lol. Tony, Jackie and Billy were great at the front desk. For the money it was worth the price. I only knocked it down a star because of how short the shower head was, BUT once I mentioned it they were Johnny on the spot to fix it quickly. Whoever stays in room 423 next, you're welcome. Where do I start? I recently stayed at this hotel and I must say the service was exceptional. I truly felt save with the COVID restrictions they have in place. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The staff was very knowledgeable about the area and had great suggestions for places to eat nearby. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. They also offer free parking which is really difficult to find in the area. I will definitely be booking here again! read more

I love the vibe at the Glendale Express Hotel! The grounds and Gardens and grass were impeccable. The attendant at the desk was so helpful and interested in what I was doing and why I was there oh, so we had great conversation. I had Some trouble finding my room because there were no wall signs for directions. They said they were working on installing these signs for use of finding your room. The staff walked me to my room and carried my bags it was very friendly about it! I was in a room that was accommodating to my dog and appreciated the hard floors instead of carpet. The room was clean and enjoyable . I'd just like to say that all of the towels and sheets do not reek of bleach ! I was very grateful for that. My room had a lovely view out the window oh, there were trees and magnificent flowers. The staff was very friendly and helpful! I did have some trouble trying to figure out the TV. I never could get it turned on but that's not why I was is it in California to watch TV LOL. I appreciated the entrance close to my room as I had cooler and bags and gear as I had camped my way to California. Oh and the lobby was so cool with neon lights and a turntable with records with comfortable places to Lounge for a while. read more

I'll start off by saying that the Glendale Express is overall, a nice play to stay. It's in a convenient location, has great customer service and is in a relatively quiet area. It was exactly what I needed for my last minute stay. But I think I should address a few safety concerns that I had while staying that may also be an issue for fellow solo-travelers. Right away I noticed the adjoining room door, which I wouldn't have minded so much if the lock had been able to close all the way but it seemed to be jammed so it just barely was able to lock in place. I was on the first floor and the first night there I double checked that the window was locked and saw that it had no screen and can be opened from the outside since the only lock is a chain one that allows the window to open about 6-8 inches. Maybe not a big deal to most, but to a female solo traveler on the ground floor next to a residential street, I was very uncomfortable. I say all of this out of the utmost respect to the business as they were accommodating and pet friendly, which I needed during this last minute trip. I just want to address safety concerns perhaps not thought of beforehand, at least not from the perspective of a solo traveller. read more

Pictures are worth a thousand words. The walls, paint, tub. Everything was much older than what was pictured. Practically no furniture. Used toilet paper that someone used with dirty hands. The napkins were rusted. They obviously don't deep clean. The rug smelled like dog. No microwave in the room. It was stated that there was an iron in the room but there was no iron. I asked the front desk for one in person but it was around 8 o clock pm. They said to ask in the morning. Even though I needed it then. An employee in the morning told me they didn't know why he didn't give me one that there was some in the room behind them. To top it off I called in the morning and they said they would bring one up but took over an hour and a half. Thank god I went down to the lobby and asked for one. The one they brought up was broken and leaking water everywhere they didn't even think to drain it or dump the water. We rented the room for the tub to take pictures but it was a little dirty looking. Absolutely not worth the time to set everything up for it. We requested an extra hour for checkout due the whole iron situation we were still ironing clothes for pictures and they told us no. We also haven't received our deposit back. It's still pending and it's been over 72 hours. The lights were dim and bent. The window was super dirty no one wiped it down it had dirty sticky fingerprints all over. It was an absolute terrible stay and I would recommend to anyone...STAY AWAY!!!! The TV was the smallest tv I've ever had at a hotel. No channels you have to log into your own accounts so if you don't have any accounts for movies or shows good luck watching tv. The beds weren't that comfortable. They were firm which was okay but not so comfortable. I really wish I was given a refund. I only got the room to take pregnancy pictures of my wife in the tub but it was not as pictured and ruined the whole experience. This is our first child and we don't have any more money to go rent another place to take pictures and felt like this was a once in a lifetime type of moment for us that was completely ruined. read more

Stayed for nearly a month during Covid and it was a great stay. The staff we polit and it was a very quite and relaxed visit. Everything I needed was within walking distance from the hotel and many upgrades were completed while I visitEd. Book early for weekends they fill up fast. read more

Hey yelpers! I have to say...this place is rated as a 2 star hotel...and as far as the rating system goes it probably fits there unfairly. The staff that I have encountered and had the pleasure of interacting with have been beyond wonderful! It's a very charming place simply highlighted by the wonderful staff. Think old school Route 66 motel/hotel charm with a room by room upgrade happening. My love has an affinity for the color dusty rose...old school sink top and flooring...yup, dusty rose! This was a one off thing that happened as we had to leave our residence for the night due to a big treatment. Couldn't be happier. Quaint, sure...even my high end lady is enjoying it. You shouldn't expect room service or over the top treatment. My personal thought is this is my Rock-a-Billy's crowd type of place. Calm, cool, relaxed, and inviting. Decent price, pet friendly for a non refundable fee, and very accommodating. The pool looks nice, about to sample it, hot tub while small looks ready to soak my bones! I highly recommend this place, with full knowledge that I'm just some rando doing a review. Definitely not for the prince/princess's that need everything thing handed to them...but for us normies and bit off the norms...so perfect! Much love to all! I was a little skeptical pulling up to this hotel at first until I walked in and was greeted at the front desk with a warm welcome. Billy made the entire check in process easy, he was helpful and accommodating. I'd recommend this hotel for anyone out here for travel or taking their State Board exam. had a pretty okay experience other than when we first came in. i know check-in is at 3, the problem was that after calling us up to tell us there was a newly available room, the guy at the front w/ black & grey hair immediately dropped his smile and rolled his eyes. my mom wasnt looking then, but i was. seriously???? what a great first impression, we never said or did anything rude. there was a couple that came to check in after about an hr of us waiting & you would think that we would be asked if we wanted the room first but maybe thats not how it works..? lastly i wish we were told that we need to request to have our room cleaned. anyway, there was a nice young man working the next night by himself and he made up for it since he was very personable and kind (dont know his name). the hotel itself is a decent place to stay for a short trip; its close to a lot of things, theres sufficient parking, & what's not in the room they can typically provide if you ask. read more

At this time, we are still staying at the hotel after being here for at least 15 days We could not leave this hotel without paying compliments to the amazing staff for their extraordinary customer service . By the way, the lobby looks great and we love the camel in the lobby and the whole arrangement and whoever did the lobby did a very good job decorating it . This hotel is very nice especially for the price that you are paying. The lobby area has different areas to sit at and they even provide board games. The front desk is welcoming and check in is effortless. The room is spacious along with the bathroom. It is a bit outdated, but you can see that they are remodeling. The bed was a bit hard for my liking which is why I give it 4 stars, but its not a deal breaker. The room seemed cleaned we slept fine without hearing anyone else. The staff was very kind and friendly - but the photos of the hotel are extremely misleading. The rooms feel grimy and gross, the WiFi wouldn't consistently work, and the tv was staticky and aged. Very very few amenities. The ac blew out black debris when turned on and the tv remote was covered in grime. Most of the surfaces in the room felt and looked like they hadn't been wiped down in quite a while. I can be understanding of a remodel, but the rooms should have at least been cleaned more thoroughly. read more

Just stayed here last weekend and it's an awesome place to stay! The hotel lobby is beautiful and the staff is super friendly. I love that they have little gifts for you like matchbooks, keychains and even little duckies! It is a little outdated but I love it and hope they keep that charm while remodeling. We noticed they were remodeling a bar area and a restaurant area and I can't wait to see what they do with the place! The pool area is very nice but it would be nice if they had some lounge chairs instead of just sitting chairs. We will definitely stay here again! read more
