This bowling alley is pretty old. It doesn't look too good from outside and the area is not too nice. But once you walk in you get the feeling of nostalgia, looks old but definitely not outdated. There is a nice smell it doesn't smell bad at all. The customer service was exceptional. I had Groupon voucher which was rendered with no issues at all. We didn't eat there but got drinks. Drinks were fairly priced. We did ask for pitcher of water which was given to us at no charge with cups. Overall great family outing. read more

Here today on 4th of July at 1:00pm. Just bought a Groupon for this place, and the phone message said "come on down, there are plenty of lanes available". But there is no one here, a sign on the door says "closed to the public- sorry". And the lounge looks like it is in the middle of renovation and there are chairs and cleaning supplies in the main entry area. Going out of business maybe? What's up with this!?! We came here during the Covid situation and we won't be coming back. At first it was going great but the last 10 minutes of our time, they opened the lane next to us and crammed us with another group of 6! I thought it was supposed to be every other lane?! Guess not. The later it got, the more people showed up and they were putting groups on every lane. So much for reserving a lane online to avoid crowding. They also don't clean after each use. Bathrooms were clean but the door didn't shut close. Food was okay. Staff was friendly. Area is rough though. Lanes are okay. Balls and pins kept getting stuck. This bowling alley definitely needs to be renovated. read more

We love coming to Glenfair lanes to bowl, have been coming here for years! Had my girls birthdays here as they love to bowl as well (we aren't great lol, but enjoy having a great time). If you do not want to wear a mask, this is the place to be! Signs saying that masks are required are posted , but it is not at all enforced. The lanes were clean and the staff was friendly enough, but again, on either side of us were families not wearing masks and throughout the bowling alley were mostly maskless people. They have a PA system and should use it to occasionally remind people to wera masks when they are not actively eating. I'd definitely come back after I am vaccinated. read more

I hate to give it 1 star but the food tasted like it was microwaved. We order nachos and cheese. When we got the nachos the cheese looked solid kinda like chedar cheese. Also the mix drink tasted more like water haha Now the bowling lanes needs a big makeover. The owner hopefully knows this. If one person needs the side skis rails then everyone uses the rails. Theyres no automation on this bowling alley. Also it was expensive. We could of gone to main event and it would of been 20 bucks cheaper. read more

I'm going to start out by saying that Glendale has made a viable effort to keep things historic, and this alley is no exception. From the wonderful placard on the outside to the outdated scoreboards, it has a very nostalgic feel. I went there on a Saturday with a Groupon. The gal at the desk was unable to redeem it because I hadn't waited 24 hours, but I was able to get a lane in the afternoon with shoes for two. Just over 50$ for two hours. I tried to book a lane at AMF and they wanted close to 100$. We ordered cheeseburgers, fries and drinks as we bowled. We didn't wait too long and the food was hot, the burger was 1/2 lb and we upgraded to bigger drinks and it was 25$. For thick fries and big burgers that is very reasonable. The staff at the counter and food area were friendly and pleasant. I had the lane lock up and it was fixed within 5 minutes. The balls were no great shakes, but I got pretty good movement from them. I had to look really good for the right size but that's not a big deal. We finished the day off with some billiards in the bar area and it capped off a nice day. The crowd had a good vibe and they had Bluey as well as Wimbledon on, so it's a very kid friendly place. I've been to AMF on Olive and 81st, Bowlero on Bell and 59th. Both places were tough to get a lane and overpriced. It's nice to know where this gem is. I'll definitely be returning to redeem that Groupon. The plaza that it sits in has been refurbished, and there seem to be some nice authentic Mexican food places up 59th as well. Don't let the haters tell you it's "ghetto". I'm a West Sider, grew up down here and still reside close by. I've seen worse in nicer areas. Do yourself a favor and give it a shot. read more

Wow, surprisingly good time going to Glenfair Lanes last night for the first time. My other half and I have pretty much gone to every bowling alley in the valley, just to see the different facilities. Glenfair was one of the lasts one's we visited but I'm sure glad we did. Just going once, it quickly jumped to the top of our list of cool, fun, bowling alley joints. Walked in and right away 2 guys behind the counter greeted us and welcomed us to the joint. They were sincerely nice - it was a natural for them (guys are just SO much better at basic customer relationships than the gals who really do tend to just phone it in...) It was a Tuesday after 6 so a GREAT deal for bowling until 9. BEST price for bowling in town, at east on Tuesday nights (and I think they have this 6-9 all you can bowl special a few times a week). The place is older but NOT RUN DOWN, unlike a place like Let It Roll Bowl, which has it's charm, but seriously... Let It Roll is a dump. Plus, this place is not another AMF or Brunswick corporate hell hole. God, I hate those joints. Glenfair had replaced the bowling return equipment (where the balls comes out) and that alone made a big difference. A working fan to dry your hands...hell yeah! Had some snakypoos, which were ok. Food prices seem reasonable overall. But again... people make all the difference, and I'm not sure who these two guys were working behind the counter, but even when we were walking out after bowling a ton of games, hands cramping, limping to the right... they called out, "Thanks for coming in!" So simple...so free...and works like a charm every time. read more

Great place at first ... it was our first Time visiting this location. All seemed well till I noticed the floor was way to slippery! Even with proper bowling shoes it was slippery ,and not to mention the raised floor which is a huge tripping hassard. We almost fell down several times and it was hard to bowl without slipping. My 4 year old wasn't so lucky and she slipped hit her chin on the ball and now she has 6 stitches! Made a complaint. Now waiting for them to call us back. read more

Let me start off by saying that I was at this bowling alley this past weekend, all day Saturday AND Sunday for my kid's bowling tournament. I must say, it was a hellish experience. I'll start on the outside and work my way in to the bowling alley. This alley is located at the corner of the busy intersection of 59th and Betheny Home Rd. It's in the Food City shopping center, so that should tell you exactly what kind of colorful people are roaming the parking lot. There is very little parking for the bowling alley. It's next to a strip mall with a cell phone and check cashing place. You might feel safer parking far away anyway. There is a security guard located at the front entrance of the bowling alley, making sure you don't smuggle any contraband, AKA real food in. He will stare you down and make you feel guilty, even if you didn't do anything. Inside, there are about 30 lanes. The place is small and the decor is set at circa 1970. It's fairly dim inside. I would have thought that they would have enough chairs there, seeing as they were sponsoring a bowling tournament! But apparently, they didn't get the memo. You had to show up over an hour early just to find a place to rest your weary bones. On the second day, the "chair police" tried to muscle me out of some chairs I was saving for my group. The lanes are fairly oily, if that's what you like. Lane 5 isn't very reliable. I would avoid that lane if possible. The food was standard bowling alley fare; nachos, pretzels, burgers, fries, etc. They serve breakfast, so that's a plus; however you would do better to order lunch at breakfast time. Our orders on both days took 40+ minutes to get to us. There is this creepy looking employee there, hereby known as the Trash Nazi. He paraded up and down the aisles in military form, taking your trash before it was actually trash. He glared at your unused napkins until you surrendered them to his eager, and waiting bucket. We gave him trash just to get him to go away for a while. The food was a decent price, but not worth the wait. The second day, half my party went down to the Food City, ate there, and returned before my food arrived. Oh, and before I forget, take a sweater! The keep it at a frosty 45 degrees in there. Maybe they got confused and thought is was an ice hockey tournament. Needless to say, there was a bowling alley full of cranky bowling tournament spectators, standing in the back, shivering because they got no heat, and no chairs. If you have a choice, go somewhere else. read more

I was here last night and I had a really nice time. The gentleman at the counter told us that if we waited a few minutes, we could get their unlimited bowling until 11pm deal. It was $10 for unlimited games & $3.95 for shoe rental. We wandered over to the bar to wait and had a couple beers and fries from a really nice bartender. They were playing a movie in the bar so we ended up staying in there a little longer than we expected. It was a good movie! When we went down to bowl, it was your standard glowing bowling experience and it wasn't packed. I really enjoyed my date because it was low key, people were polite, and it was cheap. No complaints. The bowling was fine, same old same old. Food was expensive considering the quality wasnt the best, and they really charged 75 cents for a cup of Hidden Valley ranch lol.... Besides the food, the guy at the front counter was so rude! Me and my friends were meeting other friends there and we're all new to Arizona so we have never been to this specific alley before. We weren't sure how much it cost and when we would ask the dude questions he answered them like we were bothering him or something. And I swear I wasn't asking with attitude or sassiness, I even apologized after asking a few questions since he seemed so irritated. There was no line, he wasn't busy, and our questions were valid. I apologized to him because I thought we were annoying him and he literally said nothing! I did not get a chance to ask his name but he was working 9/15 at 9 pm. Oh and when we asked if we could use the bumpers he said they were only for kids and when I said "its okay then nevermind" he literally ROLLED HIS EYES!! I highly doubt I will return to this place simply because of that, it absolutely turned me off. Plus it costs $15 a person to play, I can play for 50 cents on campus so it's safe to say I won't be back. And normally I wouldnt be so harsh based off one employee, but to have such a bad attitude towards new customers at a business says a lot about how to establishment is run. Bad vibes all around. But if you just look at their prices online first and come in knowing everything already, you might have a better time who knows. read more

We had a groupon for Glenfair and used it over the Christmas holidays. What a breeze! It was my first time using a groupon and all i had to do was show my phone to the cashier. Psst check out groupon if you havent...theres sooo many things to do without paying full price! Anyhow we had a great time and were given a lane without delay. The staff was wonderful and even gave us a 40% off coupon for bowling there again. The food was fast hot and tasty. The drinks were ice cold and reasonably priced and they have an assortment of cool arcade games in the bar area. They have a smoking area outside that you dont have to remove your rented shoes to get there, bonus! I never knew such a great place was tucked back in the corner of an older strip mall if it wasnt for groupon so thank you groupon and thank you Glenfair. We will be back and you should check it out too! read more

The staff is friendly and nice. Bowling alley can not compete with many of the others in the metro. It is very out dated, and much of the equipment and lanes need repair. Not the family friendly neighborhood or parking lot. If it's busy.... Good luck with parking!!! read more

Glenfair is awesome because they have great specials that you can't really find at the big name AMF & Brunswick Lanes! The location is a bit sketchy-it's in an older strip mall. I'd still feel OK coming here at night, though. The lanes are older and if one person in the lane needs the gutter ball blockers, everyone in that lane will need to bowl with them-they don't go up and down for each person like in the newer lanes. Prices are good-just be sure to get here before 5 PM for the best prices, or check out a Groupon deal. Food is typical concession food-microwave nachos, etc. read more

Came to enjoy a family night out of cosmic bowling but was left to be disappointed when there was cosmic lights with no music. Asked mgt about it and they stated a speaker blew out and it has to be replaced. It's unfortunate when you pay 80 for an evening out with the kids and have high hope to be let down. Other than that the facility is a little outdated but kept clean. Staff was nice even though they didn't give two cares about the music and the do have a full bar and snack bar as well. We will back again to give it a second chance to see if they fix the broken amp. read more

I work in the entertainment business so I am incredibly confused and frustrated with the service my family and I received today. I'm beyond disappointed! I asked for a pitcher of water and what advised that they don't give out pitchers of water and I would have to pay for it! (Uhhhh hello! We live in ARIZONA!) Then when I asked to change out one of the items in sampler platter I was rudely advised that couldn't be done. (And the sampler platter was disgusting and incredibly small!) After speaking to the manager he said that this is all due to the new owners. Clearly the owners don't know anything about customer service and do not require their staff to have any type customer service skills. Spend the extra money and go to Brunswick and AMF and actually enjoy yourself. read more

We decided to check out Glenfair Lanes with a good Groupon deal. 2 hours of bowling, with shoe rental, for $20. It is a bit off the beaten path for us, since we live at 36th st and Indian School, but we made the treck. Yelp indicated they were open at 11:00, but turns out not open until 4:00 midweek, so we had a couple of hours to kill before it opened. Oh well, checked out a nearby pub. Staff was friendly and got us on a lane quickly. The place is older, but clean. Ball selection was pretty poor, if you aren't a kid or a woman. It wasn't over crowded, but pretty busy. They had a bar area, but appeared no one was there. The scoring is done all automatically with digital screens. It was a good experience overall, especially for the price. read more

Okay, wow! I'm not sure what happened up there... :0/ I WILL agree that the location isn't spectacular...and the decor is a little outdated, but all in all, we had a good experience. ALL of the employees were nice and accommodating. There was no big, scary security guard (I went on a Tuesday night...and YES, there was league play), and the food lady was quick about bringing our food out to us. Starting right when we walked in, the guy working the counter was quick to tell us about the different specials going, and even set up a bowling ramp, provided lighter kid's bowling balls, AND put up the bumpers for my 5 year-old without me having to ask. The place is pretty big, with AT LEAST 34 lanes (we were 33 and there was at least one more to our right), the snack bar, an adult bar, and an arcade with pool tables.
