Heading from Texas to Silverton, Colorado and my 4.7l 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee started having a misfire just before Raton, NM. O'Reilly's Veriscan indicate code 1391 and A couple of crankcase sensor problems. I was able to pick up both sensors in Trinidad but could not find any mechanics to help me install them. Since I was staying overnight in South Fork, I called Glens Auto Repair in Del Norte, they were able to have me fixed up by noon the next day. The guys seemed real busy with all the vehicles but are willing to help out travelers. Reasonable prices and quality work. I highly recommend them. Five Stars read more

We are from out of town so imagine our panic when our Honda Pilot suddenly had "check emission system" error. Found this shop on yelp, the owner and the tech were super nice, they checked the car right away and told us to use high grade fuel and fuel additives and if the problem persist, it can be fixed by replacing a solenoid. If I could give more stars I would!!! Our cars check engine light came on while traveling through Del Norte, we looked online for a shop close by and found Glenn's. I can't say enough great things about this place. The owner was so nice and actually told us some things we did not know about our Subaru. They ran the code reader right away and had us on our way in about 20 minutes, didn't even charge us for the code read and reset. Everyone was nice as they could be and very professional. Had an appointment for a spark plug change..they promised to get to it first thing. I got there at 8:15 am, spoke with them, we'll take care of it. I even called the day before , explaining I had an appointment late morning, early afternoon..no prob they had the plugs. I waited over two hours watching someone literally push their car off the street into the one open bay...NO ONE said, we're running behind, well be with you soon or later. Nanda zip. I sat in my van waiting and watching them take in other cars. A two week appointment...what a joke! They didn't use to be that way but now are...a plug change for me is 3.5 hr job...id rather give the job to any other place....any place...and I have. Screw these guys. we were recently passing through del norte on vacation. we experienced ignition switch problems. we called glenns repair to see if could get it looked at. they got us right in and confirmed the problem. both genltlemen we talked with were very helpful! while they weren't able to make repairs due to parts not readily available, they did say it should get us home, which it did. they wouldn't accept any payment for their time. we need more people like this! read more

My husband and I were about 5 miles west of Del Norte in our motor home when we hit some road debris that tore off our exhaust pipe and did some other damage to the underside of our motor home. We limped into Glenn's and he assessed the situation and was willing to work on it, even though he wasn't set up to work on motor homes. So, I was on my way back to Denver, after visiting the Grand Canyon, before heading home to Minnesota and my car broke down a few miles outside of Del Norte. I was stuck and scared, while waiting for my insurance to provide me a tow. Glenn's was the 3rd shop I reached out to. First shop said they were booked until September, (it was the second week of August) second shop flat out told me "no." Then I phoned Glenn's, and spoke to Bryce. Bryce not only got me in touch with a tow truck driver, who got to me in about 40 minutes, but he assured me they'd take a look at my car, despite being booked two weeks solid! After we arrived, the situation was grim. Water pump needed to be replaced on my Chevy and it'd be a 4 hour job. I was told they'd get it taken care of the next day and they had me back on the road in about 24 hours! They put my car as a priority and I could not be more grateful. The price was what I'd have paid back home with my own trusty mechanic and that says a lot about their work ethic. The entire shop I owe a debt of gratitude. Their empathy is real and humbling. My next visit to Colorado will result with me visiting this amazing family of saviors! read more

We were in South Fork staying at Fun Valley for the week and noticed our truck began having problems. We had our truck towed to Glenn's due to some shifting issues. Even through they were swamped with business, they looked over our truck as soon as it arrived. They drove it and checked it over, but found nothing wrong. We picked it up and we're told they couldn't find a problem and there was no charge! I was amazed! No charge. That was a great blessing for us. I really don't like the damsel in distress role, but my car wouldn't start leaving me temporarily stranded at a gas station. Found this shop through yelp. I spoke to Jason with whom we devised a plan for me to wait thirty minutes then call and come over for a follow up. Fortunately my car came to life. I pulled into the shop and told them that I suspected it was my spark plugs. They assisted me immediately, determining the spark plugs did in fact need to be changed. They were quick in process and payment. My car once again started with a roar and I was back on my way on my road trip back to Oregon. Thank you! read more

Glenn's Auto Repair is the kind of hometown, high quality, high integrity mechanic shop you thought had gone out of style. Late on a Friday afternoon at the end of the summer, we had an incredibly stressful breakdown to our 2000 Ford Expedition as we were pulling our camper up into the mountains. We consulted Yelp and found Glenn's shop was just a 1/2 mile from where our vehicle had died, well within walking distance. We must have looked pretty forlorn because the manager of the premises, Miss Nina, personally walked out to greet us and quickly reassured us they could take care of us. The owner (her husband) came out next, and when we described our problem he put our stress to rest and told us he had done "hundreds" of that same exact repair. He asked us if we could go to the parts store to pick up the components ourselves, however, since his staff was so busy, but he offered us his CAR to run the errand! Despite the late hour at the end of the work week, the mechanics stopped what they were doing to make sure we could get back on the road, making short work of what we had felt might be a major undertaking.
