The best little dinette we've found. This place brings you back to the 1950's on Long Island. The food is perfect for breakfast, we have never tried other meals (lunch) here but it's the go-to place to ride your bike to on a Sunday morning, and know exactly what you are getting. There is typically always a wait on weekends, but it's not a long wait at all. They usually can get you in within 10-15 minutes. The staff is super friendly & helpful. The eggs are fluffy and delicious, and although I have not had them my husband swears by the pancakes & waffles. Get their famous hash if you are a hash fan. It is unreal, and made fresh there daily. The waitstaff is SO attentive that if you have a cup of coffee 1/2 full, another waitress will fill it for you without even asking. There is a reason they have been in their location for @ 60 years. The local memorabilia on the walls are just one more plus for this dinette. I just love it. The only reason they lost a star is because they are cash only, and my bank is not local so it's an inconvenience, but not a deal breaker by any means. Glen's is A+++++++! read more

Anytime I can get into Babylon I always make sure I get to Glen's for a Burger cause they have the best burgers that I can't get enough :) The owners are fantastic and always happy to see you.. Glen's Dinette is one of my favorite places to go for breakfast. We have been going here for years and have NEVER had a bad meal. The food is fresh, the waitstaff very friendly and helpful and the prices are very good for Long Island. For all the times I have been here, have never had anything but breakfast foods, so I can't comment on the burgers or anything else. read more

Like a trip into the 1950's. The food is good, the service seems to be spotty as some think they are at a celebrity venue. Has been around for a million years. Place packs them in and if you don't time it right you are destined to wait for a seating. The prices are a little inflated as well. Glen's has great food, great attitude, and isn't about to run you over for a buck like the people driving on 27A right outside. The wait staff has just the right balance of attitude and customer service, the coffee cup never empties, and the servings are generous for a decent price. Come here every week my favorite!! The omelettes are great..fresh coffee..Turkey in the straw is my favorite sandwich.. They have amazing cheeseburgers.. I love this place- a quintessential small town diner. Stick to the basics, though. For breakfast "The Traditional" is a favorite of mine: 2 eggs, toast, homefries. The coffee is not great. So grab a cup elsewhere in the village and drink it while you wait for a table. Or better yet, don't wait for a booth and grab a counter seat- the staff are friendly and it's nice to watch the cooks. Glens! What a treat. I imagine eating here is what restaurants used to be in the sixties. I love the decor on the inside. By the bar there's old license plates. In the dining area there are bits and pieces of local history. Now, the food. I love everything breakfast at glens. You just can't go wrong. Had the Idaho breakfast and it was so amazing!!!!! I had over easy eggs on top of a bed of home fries which were covered in cheese and mixed in scallions and I got turkey bacon instead of regular bacon it was sooooo delicious!! They also had egg creams which I haven't had in years and I totally enjoyed it....they lost a star only because of the service. All of our food came out at different times which was sort of annoying because we wanted to all start eating at the same time and we had four different waitresses drop off each one of our plates. Even though their communication amongst the staff was great because they all got our orders right I would've preferred the food to come out all at once. Also, the prices were steep too! 100 bucks including tip for four people to eat breakfast was sort of excessive didn't realize a cup of coffee was $3 bucks ...but if u want a good breakfast I will totally recommend this place the ambiance also was so cute!! read more

Great NY style hash. Homemade with strips or red corned beef and large chunks of roasted potatoes. Nice big portions and very consistent.

Glen's is one of the best places in Babylon. I love his place. The food is always amazing, and the staff are friendly. It's the cutest little place. On the weekends, make sure you leave a little time because there is always a line out the door- but that is just to show you how good the place is. Omg!! I'm arriving new at my job an hour early so I Yelp breakfast spots in the area. The 4/5 stars was very indicative that I'd have a great start right??? No! I ordered a simple bacon egg n cheese on a roll, now as I ate this sandwich the eggs did taste weird to me but being hungry person I always am I just scarfed it down this was like around 8:30/9:00am. At only 11am I began to get the sharpest pains in my stomach and a kind of sweats on my forehead, I absolutely NEVER get sick so I knew it was the sandwich. Figuring I'd just go to the bathroom and have some water I figured it would pass. No! These pains got worse and worse, scared I remembered I was the only Black girl who was in there, had they done something to my sandwich? The vibe was really off to me in there being I'm a person of color but I figured no way even though times are really different they wouldn't intentionally try to like get me sick. I almost fainted in my job, my manger actually had get me a glass of water and some tums after my third bathroom run. What I will say is if they didn't want me there rest assured as I'll never set foot in that place ever again! The eggs were terrible and the bacon was old tasting. The waitress never even looked me in the eyes when taking my order. I hope this is a case of fucked up food and not some disgusting racist tactic but these days you can never be to sure. Very disappointed experience with this entity and I'll never recommend to any of my co-workers as we are just down the block. read more

Maybe I'm missing the point, but it seems to me that people like Glen's for the quaintness of the place. Breakfast is mostly competent but nothing special--any diner within twenty miles will have the same selections or more, and executed with the same basic skill. Service is hit or miss. One day I was there and my guest and I had capable if not especially friendly service. Another time I stopped by on my own and received little wait service other than getting a menu after 5-10 minutes--a runner brought the food, and the waitress never came back to ask if things were OK or refill my coffee. Though it was mid-morning and not busy, I had to go to the counter to get my bill from my waitress (who was chatting with a co-worker), after waiting and waiting. More troublingly, I once sat at the counter and watched them prepare the platters. There was one man whose main job seemed to be prepping the toast. He'd put the bread into the toaster, then take the finished toast out, butter it, and PUTTING HIS BARE HAND ON THE BUTTERY TOAST, press a knife to cut it in half. Waitresses would come by sorting through the toast with their bare hands for what they needed and slap it on the plate. Once the same guy went around bussing tables and, after having brought the tray of dirty dishes back, resumed handling the buttered toast with bare hands, not having paused to wash them. He also went outside for several minutes and also resumed manhandling the toast. I didn't go back for a couple of years after this, and have never ordered toast again. read more

We love coming here for a fast simple good breakfast. Even though it is small the turn around is fast and we never have to wait long. The wait staff is always pleasant and very quick to greet and serve. We have gotten the eggs benedict, egg sandwhiches and hash browns which are always on point. What a great little place for breakfast, just went for my first time today and I couldn't have been happier. It's like a little piece of the city right in Babylon but way more personable. The only reason I have it 4 stars and not 5 is because when one of the women asked how my meal was behind the counter I asked for a glass of water and I think she forgot. So me and the wife decided to place a to go order. I go online to look at the menu and they have an app which was very easy to use to place an order. Now there is a snowstorm and it was coming down heavy and my wife prefers to not go inside if she doesn't have to given the way things are right now. So she calls and asks if they offer curbside and the gentleman say usually no but I will run it out to you. We pull up, she calls, 30 seconds later out comes who I am assuming to be the owner as I have seen him numerous times over the years. He hands us our food 2 Idaho's and an order of pancakes and 10 minutes later we are eating the most delicious breakfast we have had in quite some time. I have been to many places for breakfast thinking I will find some place new that I will enjoy more than Glen's and honestly it never happens. So if you've never been just go, order an Idaho with scrambled eggs and get ready to have a great meal. My favorites: A steaming hot stack of Buckwheat Blue Monkey Pancakes and hot coffee! Luv the atmosphere and the neighborhood charm. Do a great job with old school luncheonette food. Sandwiches and breakfast are great. I would luv if they a burger bun that matched the size of the burger. Luv the crinkle cut old school fries. What I consider the last type of fry that you can still taste potato. Servers are alittle comfortable for me - you sort of get what you get from them. Have to ask for everything. That loses a star for me. read more
