Great Food at a fair price! Love the decor, I am considering to have a family party there this summer.

Came here with family and we all enjoyed!…read more We each got a different type of omelette, Cobb, Ruben, broccoli and cheese, cheddar cheese, plain and someone also ordered pancakes. Everyone stated how great everything tasted! I ordered the Cobb omelette which had bacon, avocado and cheddar and it was delicious! Omelettes were severed with a choice of potato; tator tots, fries or home fries. We all basically had one of each and again, all delicious! Coffee was great too, and never empty. Our server (I wish I got his name!) was great! Bathrooms were also very clean. Our only complaint was the small parking lot.

Okay, now I love this place, i wouldn't change anything about it. That was before they changed…read moretheir french fry recipe. I have a medical condition called PKU, where I can't break down protein like everyone else. I've eaten at this diner for as long as i've been in farmingdale, and at most restaurants, french fries are usually the only things i can eat when going out because of it being gluten free and lower in protein. Their fries were the only things i was able to eat there, but I can't anymore because the fries are coated in some sort of breading, which is dangerous for me to eat. I know many other people who are disappointed with this, and especially others who are gluten free or have extremely strict dietary restriction/requirements. It's really sad that I can't eat here anymore when places i can eat at are so scarce. The fact that the recipe change wasn't made known to us was very disappointing as well. No harm is meant from this.. I just wanted to put it out there.

The service was fantastic; our server was very attentive with drinks and took our orders promptly. The whole family loved the food! We ordered the Huevos Rancheros, almond pancakes, cannoli French toast, eggs Benedict, a grilled cheese sandwich, and the Salvadoran platter. Everything we get here is consistently delicious, zero complaints! The drinks were great too, including the watermelon juice, regular coffee, and lattes. We couldn't be happier with the service and the food. I will always recommend My Grandmother's Kitchen for brunch!

We went on Juneteenth, and I guess the restaurant didn't realize that people were off from school…read moreand work. My group was slightly bigger, so we were sat upstairs. They asked for drink orders and we were left alone for a long time until the drinks arrived. Though we were ready to order, the server just dropped off our drinks and went to bring another table upstairs. I went down to the counter to get someone to take our order, and it took nearly an hour before our order was in (and even then, they took the order of the second table before taking our party's order). It was almost an hour and a half since we entered the restaurant when the food finally arrived at our table, and then it took so long for someone to come with our check and process payment, we went down to the counter to do it. During this time, another family was seated upstairs and left due to not being attended to. This caused big delays in our day and I had to cancel an appointment because we spent over two hours at this restaurant when we didn't want to. That said, food was good. I got the lemon blueberry pancake, which was a little bit gummy but mostly tasted fine. My brother got the mangu, which is kinda hard to find around here, let alone on the menu of a breakfast brunch restaurant. It was my brother's first time having it, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Besides him choosing scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs, it was very classic mangu breakfast. The real crabmeat omelet was another hit-- crabmeat was so real there were little pieces of shell lining-- really ambitious and deliciously executed. The menu is really fun and the food was overall good. Again, I think the very slow service wasn't on purpose and it's because they didn't anticipate such a large crowd on a Friday, but I would say run if they try to seat you upstairs and you're the only ones up there. Be prepared to wait for a long time if you want the reward of nice food.
