I can't speak to the quality or prices of the jewelry, but this is an excellent place to get repairs done. My husband purchased a necklace for me as a Christmas gift but the chain broke. The original designer provided a quote to fix it, but after two way shipping with insurance, it would have cost a fortune. The husband and wife team here matched the price, minus the shipping and handling fees. The repair was finished in a matter of days. Communication was excellent and the proprietor was a gentleman who put the restored necklace back on me so I wouldn't have to futz around with the clasp. I hope more broken jewelry isn't in my future, but if it was, I wouldn't hesitate to use their services again. read more

I came in to have a cross repaired (had one stone missing) and a thin wedding band to be dipped in rhodium. I had called the week before and spoken to Dan and he told me no problem they could do it and gave me a estimate on the band. He told me to come on in on Monday. So Monday came and I drove over there. However when I got there the customer service rep that was there really didn't know much, seemed confused, couldn't tell me how much the repair would be for the cross & couldn't tell me how much the fee would be for the band. It left me thinking that they don't really do this kind of stuff, so I left with my items. Seems like they have a lot of nice jewelry there, if you're just going into buy jewelry, but if you need repairs or to have a ring dipped in rhodium I would go elsewhere. I ended up calling three other Glenview/Northbrook jewelers and they were able to give exact numbers for both items and take it in right away. read more

Sometimes, the Yelp reviews don't lie. I needed a badly mangled necklace matched with a new chain. I sent an inquiry over their website and heard back within the hour. The necklace was dropped off the following morning, ready super fast, and not only did they somehow perform a miracle and save the chain, they didn't charge me for the repair. Unbelievable. They also offered my son a treat as we were leaving. I looked at some of Niki's custom work and enjoyed chatting with her about the process and the seeing the final outcome of her projects. My boyfriend and I have been looking around for engagement rings+wedding bands and we have had some frustrating experiences with pretentious and arrogant jewelers (those reviews will come later). We have probably been to about 10 different jewelers now but the one place that I can't get out of my mind is Onomoli. My boyfriend and I went to Onomoli this past Saturday and were greeted by possibly the sweetest and most friendly man, Dan (haha, that rhymes). He was very open and honest with my boyfriend and myself which we both truly respected and admired. He let us check out any rings without treating us like a hassle and was so patient when I was being so wishy-washy, demanding, and stressed out. I think he may be an angel in disguise! After just about 10 minutes with Dan, my boyfriend and I both knew that we really wanted to purchase our rings at Onomoli. The only reason why we haven't yet is because everyone is urging us to get quotes from a number of places and talking to different places before just rushing to choose. We told Dan that we would be back if we decided on Onomoli but that we truly enjoyed speaking with him and our experience there. I love this place so much that soon after my visit, I spoke with my friends and let them know about this gem of a place. I have been going to Onomoli almost exclusively since the day they opened in Glenview! The prices are incredibly fair and reasonable. I bought one of my favorite rings on the spot the first time I walked in the store, I knew a deal when I saw one after browsing at other jewelry stores and shows over the years. The staff is experienced and knowledgeable. I trust them to take and repair or reset any of my valuables. At Onomoli you know you are are dealing with honest and trustworthy people. I have had them reset my engagement ring, redesign a couple pieces of my mother's jewelry, my sister had them make a ring of hers into 2 separate necklaces. AMAZING! My husband and I went to a couple of other jewelry stores when we first started looking for an engagement ring. I remember leaving the other stores feeling defeated and like I was going to have to settle for a "satisfactory" ring within our budget. The other places also just didn't make us feel welcome and/or worthy. My gosh, from the moment we walked into Onomoli, we were greeted kindly and were treated like very important customers. I started looking at a couple rings in the display case thinking there was no way we could afford them based on what we had been shown in other shops. Out of curiosity, I asked to try on this beautiful band that I assumed there was no way we could afford. Dan took it out to show me and I fell in love with it instantly. Then, who would have guessed... Dan told us the price and it was in our budget! WHAT?! From that moment on, Dan and Niki did everything they could to make sure that we left with the ring of our dreams. Niki was able to show us multiple diamonds to choose from to put in the band. Every time we went back... to pick it up, to look at wedding bands, etc, Dan and Niki greeted us like old friends... they would pull up a chair and offer us a drink.
