I haven't been here in a number of years. What happened? Not many in staff, shelves not well stocked, prepared foods section used to be great, not very appealing now. Came here for a Challah. Actually had a few different ones, which was good, but no pricing and no freshness dates on the product. Seemed like no heat in the store. I came here for one thing and i found it. The place was packed with pre-holiday shoppers. I'm not kosher nor do I normally shop for kosher foods per se. I knew that most items -- especially meats -- are more expensive if kosher, but did not realize how much everything now costs. I now know why one of my friends is a pescatarian/vegetarian as she can no longer afford to buy kosher meats. I'd been to Publix and Walmart to find matzah kosher for Passover for my friends. It turned out that both stores had boxes of matzah, but in the small print on the front of the box, it said on each box "not for Passover" (!) which I found strange. Anyhow, they had several different brands at various price points here so I was in luck. They have a bit of all groceries here. And items are clearly marked. I was a bit shell shocked by the prices, but I'm assuming those who regularly come here are used to it. read more

I want to change the name to 'Glicks Dirty Market', bordering on disgusting. The manager walks around useless, doing nothing but bossing the others around like dogs. Such chutzpah, the one with the dark hair, kippa and beard. This place needs to be sterilized. The Health Dept needs to inspect them once a month, they run so hot and cold, always filthy. Bathrooms? A stench like the men's urinals at Penn Station, NYC. 60% of the products on the shelves are without prices. That's illegal in Florida, fyi. The place is usually a mess, empty stock in the aisles. The only person in there that knows where EVERYTHING is....is Erica. Highway robbery. They should be ashamed of themselves for selling low-quality food at nosebleed prices. New Yorkers are shocked by the prices, I hear them complain all the time. Costco has an aisle of kosher food in Boca Raton at 1/3rd the prices. The owners, along with this guy, Rotem, have zero boosha responding to complaints here on Yelp. I just read a review here where the people are saying the food was not edible, rancid, spoiled, but Rotem stops short of saying, "Come back for a refund. You are our customer. We are sorry for giving you shitty food for your hard-earned money." They cannot bring themselves to say this, because they are pompous and so full of themselves. Am I being extreme? Some people might say " hey your in delray for few weeks that's in middle of nowhere" Well if it's in middle of nowhere at least they have good places with good food. Just hanging at the rents condo for a few weeks and was looking for something to eat. I had some chicken salad and tuna salad this past Monday. Silly me I thought the $6.99 price was for 1 lb of chicken salad but this place charges that for actually 1/2 ! Lb. Why? I'm no expert but i think it's because the nearest kosher store like it is in fort lauderdale which is like 40 min away. I had the pastrami wrap...you got to give them kudos for cutting it so small. It wasnt till I was halfway thru it that I noticed that I was eating the paper around the wrap also. But it still turned out great and at $9.00 is a really good price and is $ 15.00 cheaper then what Essex on Cony in New york charges for their pastrami sandwhich which despite me eating some paper turned out to be just swell read more

I recently stopped buying the gluten-free cheese blintz even though I did love them at one time. The last couple times I made them there was maybe a tablespoon of cheese in them. Evan added ricotta cheese for some protein. Also, I stopped buying the beef stew a year ago because I got a couple really tough ones so tonight I decided I will try the beef stew. It was horrible so tough. Couldn't even eat it really disheartening. I used to really enjoy that it used to fall apart on the fork, this time was so tough. It went in the trash. I don't think I'll be going there anymore. I don't even keep kosher, but I used to like their food, but they're cutting corners too much. read more

Love this place. So much really good prepared food. Lots of pretty typical things like chicken teriyaki, meatloaf, eggplant parmigiana, etc. but also lots of smoked fish, lox, sable, whitefish salad, and so on. Some more unusual things that you're not going to find at Publix too that are just yummy. The store also has a small amount of fresh meats and fish, and a small grocery store with typical items like cheese, yogurt, bread, etc. Because everything is kosher, it's all pretty pricey, but if you need kosher, this is a great place. And even if you dont, it's still worth coming into. They have some delicious things. read more

Ignore the Snowbird "Kvetchers" and "Yentahs" - Glicks quickly stepped up and became our "Go To" spot for Kosher Rations. "The Team" - Max, Victor, Max and Erica are very unique, friendly and kind. I can't seem to remember everyone's name - Nevertheless, since moving to the region this past Summer of 2022 - I have quickly become a regular at this location. I often visit Glicks 2-3 times per week. My wife and I love the Rotisserie Chickens, the Eggplant and the Homemade Pasta Salads. My wife also loves the Pea Soup. Glick's has a very respectful stock of the necessities. The Cashier staff are unique and friendly and always go out of their way to say hello to me. Appetizing / Fresh Good sections are typically stocked well and clean. I've never had any quality problems. Prices recently have gone up - but, what can you say. I suspect many of Glick's patrons voted for "Old Man Joe" and all I can say is that "You reap what you sow" - so shut up with your complaining! Wish they could continue the "In Season" display and set up all year round - but, I get it. The French Canadian clientele are amusing! Overall - the scene towards Shabbos can be amusing. Great Kosher Supermarket! I appreciate the variety of foods both raw (meats) and cooked in addition to the dry goods. Nice selection of baked goods but REALLY wish that they had bagels! I traveled over from the non-NY side of Florida (Sarasota) and found this to be a real treat as I wasn't able to get a raw kosher brisket at Jo-El's in St. Pete and this place had plenty. I have a BBQ catering gig next weekend and couldn't get one at Jo-El's. I called before driving and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly service I got both on the phone and when I went in. People working there actually stopped what they were doing to answer and address my questions. Prices were pretty much where I expected them to be and I didn't feel completely ripped off or have check shock. The interior was clean and everything was very well organized. As usual, I did find treats that I wasn't looking for that I also bought. If ever I am in need of kosher meats and I'm on that side of the state I'll definitely go back. Bsnanas $1.19 a pound when the broken sign said 89 cents a pound. price signs all over meaning nothing . Do u want to buy a whole chicken cut in quarters or eights, open the package and find the chicken has no wings . When u ask about it you are told that is the way the chickens are delivered. Stopped in to shop at Glicks today July 2, 2023- Sunday. There was 1 customer at the deli. On a Sunday? In the 25 years I've been patronizing Glicks, Sunday was always busy and customers waiting 10 deep. So I'm thinking what's happened here??? Drove from North Miami a couple of times to get turkey chops (yes, turkey chops) from here. It's one of those things found normally in the Northeast but we got to Florida and none of the butchers knew what I was requesting until I found Glicks. The staff here are the kindest and today I had to write a note to let them know. I called earlier today to ask if they had the chops and the butcher said they just sold the last package. I told her I am coming from Miami and she said "let me see if we can make more for you." She got back on the phone and told me to come through and they would have them for me. Meanwhile, I was at another kosher "Grove" market where I've gotten the chops in the past, but the new butcher looked at me as if I was speaking Greek when I asked for turkey chops. NOTE to GROVE butchers in Surfside and all kosher and individuals that consider themselves meat butchers --study your craft! This is a common cut of turkey (comes in white or dark meat btw). So I drove 57 minutes to Delray and seems I may have to do that again if I want turkey chops. Thank you Glicks Kosher Market!! Bought all they managed to make for me. So kind!! Being that I live in Ft. Lauderdale and I was going to celebrate Thanksgiving in West Palm with my brother, I asked him to buy a kosher turkey from Glicks Kosher Market, for my family to have. To my absolute dismay, the turkey cost 90.99 for a 14 lbs (approx) turkey. To further add to my anguish, I found the same size GLATT Kosher turkey at Trader Joe's for half the price $41.65. I immediately called Glicks/Grove and spoke to Ericka, the manager. I explained that the price difference was tough to swallow in today's economy. I asked for a refund. Ericka said to bring the turkey back and they would do so. When my brother brought the turkey back, Ericka said that they could not refund his card. They would have give him a store credit gift card (deceptive practice #1). Since I live in another county, my brother's follow up question asked if Glicks/Grove had other stores in Broward County. Ericka said "absolutely" they had locations near my address. I later called Ericka to obtain the address of other locations and she changed the story again. She said I could only use the card at their store and that my brother was distorting her words (deceptive practice #2). WHY would I go back to a place that absolutely price gouges consumers? I am so furious I just left there and 1st the cashier. then the bagger, then this big lady came for me. I was bringing back the butternut squash that I actually wrote another review about. They were all mad that I didn't have a receipt for my soup. The soup was awful it was butternut squash and I threw out the other container of butternut squash, it was so badd. The big lady asked who I talk to and I told her it was some white lady! She didn't like that but we had been arguing for a while before I finally said that. I think that's what she was hoping I'd say. She was that kind of girl. She wanted to give me half a credit for the soup. This was after a while of arguing and arguing about the soup and no receipt. I was about to walk out leaving the soup behind just ready to throw in the towel with these people. The big girl got me a matzo ball soup with broth I guess as the exchange. I was treated like crap! I love going to Glicks Kosher Market. They are a butcher shop. Cooked foods are delicious. They have a deli and the appetizing is great. We stocked up for the next two months. We returned to Glicks yesterday. I was extremely dissatisfied. I went to they deli department to pick up food for Passover. In addition I went to the deli department. My wife loves stuffed breast of veal. They didn't have any. Next I asked for potato latkes. Guess what? They didn't have any. Next I asked for plate pastrami. They only had first cut. I like a juicy piece of meat. I asked for egg barley and mushrooms. They had that. When I got home it was old and dried out. I threw it away. My wife asked for an eggplant cutlet. She really enjoyed it. She ordered chopped liver. It was very tasty but it was more like a pate'. It was mush. Like "kinder dreck". I took one piece of stuffed cabbage. Let's just say it's been better. I dropped a few hundred dollars. I'll be back. I hope next time it will back to the way it used to be. With new competition please keep up. You guys opened another store to get back at them for opening in your neighborhood. Keep up the quality. You invested a lot in both stores. Thanks. Happy Passover. read more

visiting my sister from California. She wanted fried fish. fillet's. The man behind the counter said they never had such an item. My sister insisted and he finally said that perhaps 3 years ago. She said that she bought it no more than 6 months ago. Finally she gave up arguing with him. When we wanted to checkout our purchases, there were no cashiers available. I stood at the checkout stand and waited while my sister looked for one. Finally a woman appeared with no identification to check us out. This being the first time I was here I was disappointed at the way the inside looked, I'm told they been doing renovations but that's been going on for months and months. Hands down, the BEST quality (hand sliced) nova ever, I'm not a big Kosher deli purchaser, growing up Jewish in Mississippi, however love the gefilte fish and soups. Haven't purchased other things so cannot speculate. It is pricey, but worth it! read more

As far as specialty markets go, Glick's is a superior one. It has a good size selection of kosher items, a fresh deli, and plenty of other items for vegans and such. The actual store itself isn't huge, but manages to pack a lot of stuff in there. Minor problem being that when it is crowded, it can be difficult to move around. The deli area is obviously the highlight of the market, all the foods are made/sliced fresh and the service is good. They even know my whole family's names and what we like to eat. It can get very crowded at the deli counter, especially on Friday before the Shabbos rush, but it moves pretty quickly even then. One area I find to be a major plus is their homemade food section. Their homemade meals are very good and you have a large variety to choose from. Briskets, chicken, veal, and many more meals all come prepackaged and fresh. They even have a special deal where you can get a meal, soup, and side for about $20, and all that could feed a family of 3 or 4. My favorite being the Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup, Old Fashioned Mushroom and Barley, and Sliced Brisket in Beef Gravy. Glick's can be a tad bit pricier on some items because they are strict glatt kosher, but for the most part the price difference is negligible from the food you'd get anywhere else. I'd like to see the prices come down on the soups, but other than that, I'm content with what it costs me here. I don't keep strict kosher, but we go to Glick's anyway because it has a higher standard of service and quality compared to most other places. The food is always fresh, and the food quality is better than at most places. Specialty kosher markets like these are a dying breed, so it's always good to support them, especially when they provide a good product. Keep kosher, don't keep kosher, it doesn't matter, Glick's is a nice small market where you can come for quality. read more

I Just Cannot Believe it!!!! I drove up from Plantation since your Stirling Road store does not carry. I usually purchase 2 pkgs of your baked chicken legs and thighs. The price for this item is $18.99 and then increased to $19.99. Much to my shock and amazement the price shot up to $26.99!!. That's an increase of 35%. This is f---ing ridiculous. How do you have the baytzim to charge such a price. Can I afford it, yes but will I pay it Hell No!!. I truly feel you are taking advantage of your customers who wish to keep kosher. I feel sorry for the elderly poor who live on a fixed income. It's price gouging like this that makes me consider going traif. KFC is looking better every day. read more

I was skeptical having read some of the negative reviews, but my first experience here was very good. I got some raw chicken which was fresh and high quality, I enjoyed it. I got one of their prepared dishes (stuffed turkey with string beans) and it was very delicious, fresh, not too salty. Got a few deli items and they were also excellent. Excellent selection of packaged kosher foods on the shelves. Prices didn't seem very high, bone-in, skin-on chicken was fairly cheap, the dinner was enough to fill two people for $11. Customers and staff were happy and friendly, saw I was new and recommended things, like their pizza which I will try next time. Cashier cracked a joke about the hurricane that made me belly laugh, which is rare. My only criticism is the deli staff seemed confused by a very simple order, the girl asked another guy who asked me to repeat it. Not sure if there was a language barrier. But at least they were friendly and eager to help. Update: Went back for the pizza. It was awesome - the customer who recommended it did not lie. Kosher pizza has a unique style and flavor, which can be very yummy if done right, and at Glicks it's as good as it gets. Highly recommended. Tried their homemade coleslaw and it was way too sweet. This is the only thing I didn't like in a huge variety of food they offer. I say it not to criticize, but to let them know so they might improve it. Coming from a cultured home that included food, food, food I thank god I don't do the traditions my family does... When I visit and it's Saturday/Shabbat I feel like I will explode, lunch & dinners in one day - and each meal has courses - Fish, Soup, Meat, Dessert & Challa bread galore... Sometimes I get the yearning for that old school Jewish food... The potato Kugel, the lox, the tongue, the brisket.... It's awesome that I have Glick's when I crave that heavy shmaltzy (fatty) yummies... They have stuff that can be popped in the microwave, and yes heed the heads up by other Yelpers, avoid Pre Shabbat shopping... You will get slaughtered... What is also great is I can stop in there to buy my nephews in NY some Holiday Themed treats which are Kosher and shaped in the holiday colors, styles etc.... Yes, prepared to be cut off for the checkout lines by the ballsy older folks - yes, most of them hail from the East Coast and they are speedy devils... They all play the "age card" and then shmooze it up with the 60+ cashiers while showing pictures of the "mishpacha" - family... Pricey, but as a treat worth it. read more

Now that Glick's management has converted the store from being a "kosher style" establishment to undergoing strict kosher supervision, I finally had the opportunity while in the area to check out this place, and also to seek something different from the only other full kosher market in Boca, where I live. I had a very good first experience and I would definitely return. Here are some of my thoughts: Pros -Selection! So many different prepared foods and deli, all of which looked very fresh and appetizing. There are also many packaged/baked/can goods, frozen items, bottled drinks, and more to choose from. -Very clean and well-lit. Two elements that are most important to the quality of a store than many people think. -Staff was friendly and helpful. The gentleman that assisted me at the deli counter (I believe his name is David) was courteous, professional and welcoming, and the cashier was nice also. Cons -The parking lot can be a challenge, especially at peak times of the day. While it is a shopping center and there are plenty of spaces available, be extra careful maneuvering as there are always people outside walking about. -Prices are expensive, and some of the deals they have aren't really good deals. -The store is reasonably spread out, but I can easily picture this place getting super crowded before Shabbat or the holidays.
