I was running my dad around and he wanted to get tacos for Cinco de Mayo. This seemed like as good an opportunity as any to try out, El Guapo. We came by shortly after they opened for lunch. It is very spacious inside the first thing I noticed was how large their bar is. We were seated right away and the waitress brought out water while we looked at the menu. I just had to get a margarita and my dad chose to get a corona light beer. Wow we were still trying to decide. The waitress dropped off some chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and crisp like they had just been made in house. The salsa also tasted like it was homemade. It was very mild with a little bit of a smoky flavor, but not too spicy. It was also not very chunky which I prefer. For my meal I went with the Birria tacos. It came with three tacos, a side of black beans, and rice. The tacos were delicious. The meat had a good flavor and they provided plenty of the Birria sauce to dip them in. They play started to get packed around 1 o'clock when we were leaving. I'll be interested in coming back for a happy hour or a late night evening to sit at the bar.

They say there are signs posted about it but I cannot recall seeing one nor was I actually looking for one What expenses are restaurant owners expecting to shoulder anymore? Since the 1980s tips have always been a means to supplement their HR expenses. I will still accept that if I'm served by a wait staff. Now they want their patrons to supplement their credit card processing expenses. That's going too far for me.

An interesting place clearly inspired by the various cuisines of the Spanish-speaking world. I…read morewould not call any of this place traditional Mexican, Salvadoran, Spanish, etc. but a lot of the food is reminiscent of those cuisines. You walk in and there's a counter, a few tables, and a fridge with some to-go desserts. Several folks were standing waiting for a to-go order. We dined in, so we walked down the narrow hallway to the back room full of booths and tables. With lots of art for sale on the walls, it's got a nice cozy vibe going on. We were there on the later end on a random Tuesday, so we were the only people there. Our waiter brought us a basket of chips and salsa and after looking over the menu, I took his suggestion to get the paella. Their paella is not a traditional paella valenciana by any stretch, but it's sort of a cross between that and a jambalaya: rice-based with shrimp, chicken, and sausage, pleasantly spicy with some veggies thrown in too. While I originally balked at the price ($28 as of this writing), it was dinner and then two more meals when I took it home; it's easily 2-3 servings, making that price less daunting. My wife got the Tapas Platter, which was a great way to sample the variety of appetizers. A tasty chicken tamal, some spinach empanada (which had a kind of "meh" dough), a cheesy pupusa, and a salchipapa (potato stuffed with ground sausage and cheese) which my wife went mad for. There is a kids menu and Child #1 opted for a cheese quesadilla which seemed standard and Child #2 opted for a burger and fries which was pretty big for a kids meal, but I'm not complaining! BYOB - they even have a sign encouraging folks to go a few doors down to the liquor store if customers want to bring something in. The service wasn't very fast, but it wasn't bad. The food was decent, but it does seem a bit streamlined, so don't come here for a big variety of street tacos or the whole gamut of pupusas. That said, it was an overall solid dining experience.

We have been seeing on Social Media for quite some time this place so we finally was able to go…read more They have sooo many options, when we first arrived here we grabbed a menu and sat off to the side just to take a moment and read everything. They have a late night menu and they are open until 1 am. We ended up getting two bowls one salmon and the other was grilled chicken. The grilled chicken was seasoned to perfection. It wasn't hot it was room temperature. What lost me was the sauces that go on top. I ordered all 3 so that I could see which one I liked. White sauce taste like yogurt .... Ahhh no thank you I wasn't expecting that. The red sauce is like a spicy ketchup but it just didn't do it for me. The green sauce was mild somewhat but not good enough for me to spread across my bowl. That's the one sauce that is close to my liking but it's not quite there yet. The salmon bowl we ordered the purple rice and it taste like regular rice just colored in my opinion. Corn was cold .The salmon wasn't hot when I dug my fork into it no steam or anything came out so I'm not sure how long it sat before we received it. Mind you we ate inside of the restaurant so there was no gapped time in between preparation and delivery. We did order french fries and I must say they were really good. Again not hot but room temperature. We did try the signature lemonades, rose and mango flavored. The mango flavored was delicious the rose was okay. I did have something floating inside of my lemonade that was green mind you I didn't order anything green ( lettuce or guacamole) but once I told the guy at the register he quickly corrected it and gave me a newer one. I went on a Sunday evening and it wasn't busy. I'm on the fence about this place I may go back but if I do I may just get chicken wings and the loaded fries. They are open late so you never know.

I ordered the bulgogi bowl with rice - my husband got bulgogi with fries thingy, my son a Gogi burger and Spicey bacon fries and we got daughter the carne with fries. My daughter's carne with fries - which we specifically asked for no sauce or cheese - bc she's a very picky eater - took well over 25 minutes to make. All of us had our food and she was crying (she's 7) bc she was so hungry and didn't like anything we had. The food cost over $70 and honestly I was semi pleased at best. My bowl was so so rice heavy with not enough meat - and it didn't taste like Korean bulgogi. It was good - but not bulgogi. The meat and fries combo was almost all fries with little meat - so again - we paid $70 for fries and rice - and my daughter didn't like the carne at all and ate her fries. My husband likes the bulgogi fries but again - little bulgogi - large amounts of sauce and fries. The best thing was the churros. The reason I'm giving a 3 is bc I was to love this place. This is my dream combo - I love Korean and Mexican food! And you can't find halal everywhere. I just am disappointed at the wait time and the prices for what we got.
