Cheese Nachos
Kymbaly W.

I think that I probably should of ate inside instead of ordering to go. Especially something like nachos. So maybe that was my fault. The cheese tasted really good and I'm sure it would of been even better if I ate it when the cheese was freshly poured. The rice was nothing exciting. I was expecting it to be a little more flavorful and not as mushy as it was. I didn't really enjoy the rice too much. The chicken quesadilla was just okay. Not the best I've had but not the worse either. No really complaints but I feel like it was missing a little something. Maybe a little more char on the chicken which helps the grill taste permeate through the quesadilla. I still ate it and next time I will just eat inside instead of picking up my food. Therefor the flavors will be fresher.

Food was amazing! It's small place but food quality is top notch! Authentic flavors and great amount of foods!

El Patron is my go-to, neighborhood taqueria. It is a small location, but I only order pick up so I never spend much time inside. The staff is friendly, but sometimes the wait is a bit extreme. But their food is worth the extra wait, I just suggest that you order well ahead instead of just showing up! I am a fan of corn taco shells, which is what they use, and their tacos come double-shelled. They over-stuff the tacos with tons of meat, onions and my favorite, cilantro! The fresh vegetables that they serve with the tacos are always fresh and the perfect addition! They used to include verde sauce with their tacos, but now they give the red sauce pictured. Personally, I don't care for any type of spicy sauce, luckily; I keep a jar of verde sauce in my fridge! :-) They also used to give you chips and salsa on the side, but they stopped. It would be great if they decided to bring them back! During this trip, I decided to try one of their dips. Boy, am I glad that I did! The chorizo dip was so good! They give you a ton if it and they are not stingy with the chips either! It was just the right amount of spicy, and the queso was creamy and delicious. El Patron is highly recommended, order today!

The food was pretty good. I had the floutas and enchiladas and my friend had the shrimp and steak fajitas. The service was fairly quick and the ambiance was pleasant.

Absolutely delicious food! Couldn't have asked for a more delicious meal!! Everything was hot and scrumptious. Generous portions for not a lot of $$.

Who knew Paraside had such a great place? We finally ordered to go from el Patron, and the experience was very interesting. First off, it's small, but homey, clean and inviting inside. The gentleman behind the counter and I spoke in Spanish, but his English was good too. Very friendly and appreciative of our business. Food was a mixed bag. The best items include the killer guac, and the tacos. I'd never had tacos de lengua before, but it was so well cooked that it was very tender and delicious. The carnitas taco was also quite delicious. I normally get a taco al pastor, but you can get a taco meat on your nachos, so I got it there. Surprisingly, the nachos had pineapple on them (I don't know if that was because of the al pastor, which sometimes has pineapple, or if it's standard), which wasn't bad, but unusual to say the least. It was overall delicious and very filling. I think my wife was underwhelmed by her chicken burrito. A lot of rice and peas and carrots (??!) - again, quite an unusual filler. Prices are decent, service is great, and the atmosphere friendly. Grab a bottle of Jarritos and you've got a solid Mexican culinary experience! I look forward to coming back.

Patrons nachos. I asked and ordered beef as the meat. Came out with steak, the guy who brought my food out said they didnt have beef...

Moved to the area a few weeks ago and drive past this place nearly every day, so today i finally had time to stop in. Ordered the Patron nachos with Beef. When the food came out, it was steak. I was told by the man who placed the food on the table they did not have beef and he apologized. A woman took my order and a guy closed me out. I did not recieve the standard salsa and chips for the wait. When i went to pay, i saved 40 cents on the change on my bill because of the beef steak issue lol. they do not have a liquor license so no margaritas. I may stop in whenever i don't feel like going to Mezcal

El Patron has really good food. The quesadillas and burritos are good. I love the Patron nachos with chicken and the cheese dip is amazing! Good customer service. Food is authentic in flavors and nice portions. I recommend if you are in the mood for Mexican food.

Yeah, I've had beef, chicken and cheese. Never carnitas. At first I thought they were good but nothing special but as I kept eating, they kept growing on me and I realized that these are really freaking good enchiladas, probably my favorite of all enchiladas. The exterior looks worn down and unassuming. The interior is small but was able to accommodate our party. The service was good, with both bartenders taking turns serving our table. I ordered happy hour chips and queso, and the queso felt very unfresh and can-like. They only offer one basket of chips & salsa complimentary per the menu but we were a party of 5 and received two. My happy hour app was rung up as regular price. The hard shell bean tacos I ordered had very little beans in them and only beans, no other toppings. There was lettuce, tomato, and cheese on the plate on the side, so I had to dress my own tacos. They tasted okay, not great, not bad. The $6 Monday margaritas are for the 12 oz and are made strong. It's a $1 more for a flavor and $1 more for a larger size (16 oz). The men's bathroom is small and had two urinals that are right next to the bathroom door. I will probably stick with my usual spot in Laurel, called Chido's.

I ordered the bulgogi bowl with rice - my husband got bulgogi with fries thingy, my son a Gogi burger and Spicey bacon fries and we got daughter the carne with fries. My daughter's carne with fries - which we specifically asked for no sauce or cheese - bc she's a very picky eater - took well over 25 minutes to make. All of us had our food and she was crying (she's 7) bc she was so hungry and didn't like anything we had. The food cost over $70 and honestly I was semi pleased at best. My bowl was so so rice heavy with not enough meat - and it didn't taste like Korean bulgogi. It was good - but not bulgogi. The meat and fries combo was almost all fries with little meat - so again - we paid $70 for fries and rice - and my daughter didn't like the carne at all and ate her fries. My husband likes the bulgogi fries but again - little bulgogi - large amounts of sauce and fries. The best thing was the churros. The reason I'm giving a 3 is bc I was to love this place. This is my dream combo - I love Korean and Mexican food! And you can't find halal everywhere. I just am disappointed at the wait time and the prices for what we got.

I was running my dad around and he wanted to get tacos for Cinco de Mayo. This seemed like as good an opportunity as any to try out, El Guapo. We came by shortly after they opened for lunch. It is very spacious inside the first thing I noticed was how large their bar is. We were seated right away and the waitress brought out water while we looked at the menu. I just had to get a margarita and my dad chose to get a corona light beer. Wow we were still trying to decide. The waitress dropped off some chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and crisp like they had just been made in house. The salsa also tasted like it was homemade. It was very mild with a little bit of a smoky flavor, but not too spicy. It was also not very chunky which I prefer. For my meal I went with the Birria tacos. It came with three tacos, a side of black beans, and rice. The tacos were delicious. The meat had a good flavor and they provided plenty of the Birria sauce to dip them in. They play started to get packed around 1 o'clock when we were leaving. I'll be interested in coming back for a happy hour or a late night evening to sit at the bar.

Each reservation is for 2 hrs. You get to order as much as you want from their brunch menu. Servings are tapas style. The style reminds me of the old cava brunch style. While here I had the following: French toast- nicely cooked. Loved the flavor and blueberry and whipped toppings. Steak and eggs- evenly cooked and prepped to perfection. I loved the chimi sauce on top of the steak. Chicken taquitos- packs a punch. Crisp and deelish. Birria Quesadilla-meaty and adequately cooked. Loved the serving size. Spicy Bloody Maria- very boozy and did not disappoint. Would've loved some horseradish in it as well. Our server Taylor was awesome. She was on top of service and had a great personality. The manager Dixon came over to greet our table. He let us know that in addition to the upstairs, they have a barcade speakeasy in the basement. We checked that out on this visit as well. The game room was chock full of throwback games and new! Also going on during this visit was a day party. Talk about one stop shopping. I'll definitely check them out again for brunch!

When taquería-trucking, I always go for tacos and pupusas if available; they had both and I tried to get one of every flavor (don't judge me and my foodie FOMO). The pupusas were all great, probably the largest pupusas I've ever seen. The bean and cheese were my favorite. Only critique is the cabbage slaw wasn't what I'm used to. It wasn't bad; I'm just used to a slaw that's a little thinner, not quite as crispy, and carries a slightly unnatural orange color. But at $2 a pupusa, they're still good. The tacos were all fabulous. My favorites were the lengua (rich and tender), and carnitas but the al pastor, carne asada, and barbacoa were all decent as well. My only complaint is that Mexican street tacos usually have two tortillas, and some of these tacos tore a bit with their solo tortilla. Going to be honest, not sure how much English they speak, but they do speak at least a little bit (ordered on the phone in Spanish, spoke both when picking up). Their prices are reasonable and the food is tasty and filling, so I will definitely be back!
