New vanity installed in the master bathroom

We contacted Mr. Stanley for a quote to remove the two old bathroom vanities in our home and install their replacements, as well as install two new faucets along with any needed plumbing modifications. We also requested to have two sets of grab bars installed in the bath and the shower, as well as have some of the old grouting replaced in those same areas and the kitchen. Mr. Stanley provided us with a very competitive quote within a few days of our initial contact, the proposal included a warranty of one year, and he was able to schedule the work during the time frame we requested. Mr. Stanley and his assistant, Mr. Janek, completed the project in two days. All aspects of the quoted job were addressed professionally, and we believe that the work product was completed very well and exceeded our expectations. We are extremely grateful to Mr. Stanley, and we plan on contacting GLOBAL HOME IMPROVEMENTS INC. for our future home improvement projects. Thank you, Mr. Stanley. Thank you, sir!

Brand new bathroom build with custom shelving

Stanley is so friendly and easy to work with. They built a bathroom from scratch and it's gorgeous! I also literally could not beat the price anywhere else. I'm looking forward to working with Stanley and his workers on future home projects. Thank you so much!

Unfinished basement
Gary G.

Stan finished our basement. He was a pleasure to deal with, his guys were hard working and efficient. We looked at pricing from 6 different companies, Stan was not the cheapest, but the quote was clear and covered everything. The job was done in time and we're super happy.

Global home improvements helped remove a partial wall in-between these two rooms. Looks like it wasn't even there!

I would like to highly recommend Global Home Improvements! They are real professionals and masters of their craft. Especially their contractor Leo, who can literally build you a whole house on his own. I couldn't be happier with the work they provided for me and their prices were more than fair. I've been working with Stanley and his team for the past 6 months. I'm a new home owner who got stuck with purchasing a home with a broken sump pump system. This meant removing the drywall 4 feet up from ground around the entire basement perimeter, including disconnecting the toilet and removing a section of the staircase. Global home provided the demolition and rebuilding around the installation for a new sump pump system. Stanley's contractors were very efficient and provided quality work. Throughout the job, we discovered more deficits in the house that the previous home owners decided to cut corners on; plumbing, electricity, lack of insulation, etc. All of which Global Home Improvements addressed and reassured everything was working properly before the work was complete. I receive lots of compliments about our newly renovated basement! I really couldn't be happier with the work Global home has done and I know this adds to the overall value of the house when I do decide to put it up for sale. 10/10 would hire again!

New flooring, vanity, toilet and wall cabinet. Fresh paint.

Beautiful work and great to work with! If you're looking for a contractor for renovations, I would recommend Stanley and his team! They recently finished putting in all new flooring throughout my condo, painting and renovating my bathroom and I am very happy with the final products! I met with 5 contractors to talk through the projects and get estimates and Stanley was not only the most fair priced, but he gave suggestions and ideas, and as someone living in a high rise, he was the only one to speak about the importance of installing new flooring with the right sound proofing. Plus, he was one of the few contractors who will order the materials and bring them at the start. I sent him the materials I wanted and his team brought what was needed which made the project so much easier. Since I live in a high rise, I had to deal with an HOA and rules which he understood and addressed as needed. When the project started, his team showed up on time every day ready to go. They always explained what they would be doing on that day so there were no surprises, and they asked questions to confirm what needed to be done. I also appreciated their attention to detail. The team does great work and they're efficient! You won't be waiting with incomplete projects because they come to work hard, do good work and finish the job. Would recommend you consider Stanley for your next project!

Bad paint prep, bad touchup

We closed on our home in November of 2021. Stanley, the owner of Global Home Improvements came in at a affordable price (for us) and was personable and enthusiastic about the job. The work to be done was extensive. 3 bathroom remodels, basement finishing with a theater room, recessed lighting throughout the house, paint, baseboards and casing, galvanized piping replacement, some windows, new stairway railing, and a number of other smaller tasks. But, at the outset, Stanley said that the work would be done in 3 months. Demolition began at the end of January/beginning of February. We didn't move in until the middle of October, and even then the house was not fully done. It still isn't. Over the course of the project Stanley ran into labor issues and rising material costs. He started pushing back his completion date and asking for money ahead of schedule (according to our contract) We were assured at the beginning that Stanley had a group of 12 guys that could be working on our project. As it turned out, at no point did he ever have more than 2 guys assigned to the work on a consistent basis. He would constantly ask me to remind him what was in the contract, or which e-mail I'd sent to him about project details. We had new bedroom doors specified in the contract, and Stanley had requested for us to send him what we wanted him to buy. In the end, we sent him exactly what we were going to buy, then made the order ourselves. He picked up the doors, took them to the house, then later complained that it was more work to finish and paint the doors than anticipated and that he wanted to charge us more on labor, because we "should have bought pre-primed doors." He ended up letting it go after we reminded him we had sent him the doors we were going to buy, and that he hadn't said anything. By August, we had had enough. In exchange for a money advance, we had Stanley agree to complete the project by September 07. While the workmanship up to that point had been quite fair, it dropped off a cliff once the project was on a real deadline, especially patching and painting. Take a walk around my house and I can point out any number of paint mistakes, bad lines, really really excessive caulk beads, completely unpatched holes for electrical sockets, large patched areas that were left unsanded but then painted over, paint runs, cracks, etc. We had purchased some expensive Saltillo tiles for a bathroom floor, and during the install the workers introduced a grout haze, paint, and oils into the tiles, then sealed the floor. We had to spend nearly $1000 hiring an expert to come mitigate the damage and even then the floor will never look new. Near the end, getting Stanley to do anything that required spending his own money was like squeezing water from a rock. He would complain constantly about how expensive things were and the "extra work" his guys had to do. The arrangement became such that we were purchasing construction materials for him and deducting it from the overall contract amount. There were so many things Stanley could have done to save himself time and money and he elected to do something else instead. For instance, he let his guys who were inexperienced with modern style stair railings take two weeks to educate themselves on the subject and complete the work, rather than subcontracting it out to someone who could have done it in a few days. And now my railings are crooked. We found out that the windows that he'd ordered and installed were not up to code due to a high U factor of 0.44. Yet, in the State of Illinois, residential windows must be rated at 0.30 or lower in new construction, and I pointed that out to him in my city code. So what's left to do? Window pane replacements to get them to code, a missing hand rail for the stairs going to the basement, and missing basement circuits, and probably some other stuff that I have yet to discover. At this point, after all our haranguing for him to finish the job, Stanley has apparently decided to ghost us after taking one last payment (that we didn't contractually owe him). It must be that the rest of the money isn't worth the remaining work. You might read all of this and think Stanley is a bad guy. He's not. And you'll find that he has plenty of 5-star reviews. But I really didn't like being put into the position where I felt like if we didn't dangle a money carrot over his head, he wouldn't finish the job. Unfortunately, the work is still not finished and evidently won't be. If you are considering Global Home Improvements, think hard about the size and scope of your project, and whether you'll be okay taking on the GC role yourself when **** hits the fan, because that is what we ended up having to do. I really wanted things to work out. But, this experience was incredibly disappointing, especially at the end. Last year we started the business relationship with Stanley with so much promise; but it has ended on a very sour note.

I worked with Stanley from Global Home Improvements on two projects, both of which turned out great! Project #1 - Large room ceiling reframing and replacement. I had a sagging ceiling caused by poor previous construction. The job consisted of demolishing ceiling, installing new framing with additional supports, hanging new drywall, and finishing with paint. The team finished the entire job in seven days. Project #2 - Installation of recessed lighting and central ceiling fan, along with repair of window blind drywall mount . The first part of the job required doing the full installation and wiring of all new ceiling fixtures and replacement wall switch, and finishing with patching and paint. The other part required repairing the drywall which failed to hold mounted heavy blinds and remounting the blinds to the window frame. I was very satisfied with the final products of both jobs. The new ceiling and blinds are well-supported and the fixtures work and look great. The finishes did have smoothing issues in a few areas. However, I don't know enough about this kind of work to know if this is unavoidable in certain situations. I'd also like to share a few things about the overall experience. Stanley was patient and attentive throughout the planning process. I had many questions and decisions to make before committing, and Stanley answered my questions and did not pressure me to go under contract. Overall Stanley prefers communicating over phone rather than email. While phone calls were an efficient way to discuss many matters, I would have liked a bit more thoroughness in our written correspondence for documentation purposes. I would particularly like to see the estimate and contract which were in the form of short emails to be a bit more formalized. Some aspects of my lighting project demanded a bit more nuance, but Stanley worked with me as much as he could. For example, I wanted a smart fan and smart lights installed. Stanley was not experienced with these products, so I researched and bought them myself. He then deducted the cost of the traditional parts from the estimate which I was happy about. I also struggled to determine the best lighting configuration for the room which would give enough light but not be too distracting. Stanley gave a general recommendation, but when it came down to exact positioning he deferred to me to choose the exact placement. This was hard because I also was not sure how it would best fit, but I researched and decided on the geometrical positioning I thought would look best, and it worked out in the end. Once we agreed on the contract, Stanley was very eager to begin on both occasions. One one hand, I appreciated that I would not have to wait to begin. On the other hand, I would have liked a little time to prepare my schedule and condo for the work. It was stressful that for both projects, Stanley said if I could not start right away, I would have to wait several weeks or possibly months. When work began on both projects, Stanley's team arrived promptly each day and worked efficiently without any gaps or delays. Stanley himself came on site only when the project started or by special request, and he was reachable by phone to work through issues. During the projects I regularly engaged with the teams to ask or answer questions as well as to simply observe the progress. I found it worthwhile to do so, as I did need to make sure some aspects were finished to my likeness. For example, I insisted on a specific switch configuration for the smart lights and fans I picked out, I had to ask the team to reconnect the fixtures in the first project, and I also had to make sure they did not discard my product manuals. These were minor issues, and I was happy they all got worked out. One thing more to add is that not all of the workers were fluent in English. However, every team had at least one who was with whom I could communicate effectively. All in all, everyone I worked with were friendly as well as skilled, and overall found everyone a pleasure to work with. In summary, Stanley and his team do very efficient and quality work for a very fair price. While my projects had some challenges in both planning and execution, I was happy with Stanley's attentiveness and I am extremely pleased with the end results. I definitely recommend Global Home Improvements and look forward to working with them again!

Installed original restored woodwork around windows and doors. Added three-piece baseboards and crown moulding. Installed window above back door. Frank did an incredible job with the trim work. We were working with a limited supply of restored wood and he didn't waste a single piece. He even made a couple of suggestions that made the finished product better than I expected. Peter caulked and painted everything very tidily, which was nice because we had just painted all of the walls. Also, they were very clean considering the work being done. Nice people to work with as well. I'd definitely consider them again for our next project.

Stanley and his team installed a custom double door on our garage. The goal was to be able to drive a three wheeler through into the back yard. They cut the concrete, widened the opening, built a custom concrete ramp, and installed the new door. Stanley is an honest guy, when the final payment came around he said, " It didn't take as long as we thought, I'm not going to charge you what I had previously quoted you, let me get back to you tonight with an updated price. " You don't find contractors like that anymore. Such a standup guy. Pleasure doing business with him. Will keep him in mind next time something else pops up. Excellent communicator and excellent work.

Really enjoyed working with Stanley and Mariuz (Mario)! We choose Global Home Improvement after getting several quotes and meeting with several contractors. GHI pricing as competitive but Stanley really took his time with us during the quote to make sure he fully understood the project and was also very patient and thorough in his answers. He was also very communicative during as we went back and forth several times on what we wanted to include in the scope. We ended up having GHI completely gut and re-do our smaller bath and then redo the vanity, lighting, and toilet in our larger bathroom. Stanley would come by or call every few days to check on the project and then Mariuz completed the work. Mariuz was on-time, professional, and helpful as we made various decisions throughout the project. He even repainted our radiator cover to make it look brand new and save us the cost of purchasing a new one. We ran into a few issues (with the age of our building) which increased overall budget by about 15% but Stanley was able to keep us informed about this and it also impacted timeline which increased from 4 weeks to 6 weeks. We also felt Stanley did a good job communicating the timeline change as well so we were not totally surprised. We have already recommended GHI to a few friends and would definitely work with Stanley and team again!

After reviewing the scope of the project, it was estimated that it would take a week and a half to complete. Not only did it take over a month to eventually complete, the days that the team would work were unpredictable. On several occasions, as the team would leave for the day, they would tell us they will be back tomorrow, and then not show up. Or, they wouldn't be able to tell us when they would come next, and would surprise us a few days later. They ended up needing to complete this project after I had delivered my baby (original timeline would've been completed weeks prior to my due date). Additionally, we noticed there were a few design decisions that were made without consulting us, like the drywall of the shower/re-installation of the water gauge (it's now not flush with the wall and very loose) and the selection of tile at the base of the shower that doesn't match the floor. He had offered to come fix the water gauge, but after coming to look at the issue, he has not gotten back to us in 5 weeks. I had high hopes for this project, and while it still looks nice, the lack of communication made it really difficult to want to recommend Peter or use his team again for future projects.

We have nothing but the highest praise to give to them for delivering such a fantastic end result. The team we worked with was fantastic. We really enjoyed the hands on process of working with Elizabeth, our designer, who helped guide us through the entire process of creating our dream primary bathroom. We had a fair bit of back and forth throughout the design process but it resulted in some highly detailed and thorough design plans, which included realistic renderings, all the selected hardware and finishes, and overall layouts. We felt like we got great advice from Elizabeth, and she really listened to what kind of look and feel we were going for. We then got with Daniel, our project manager, who helped turn the plans we received into reality.
