So we drove from Pueblo to Denver for a weekend appointment. My husband pours concrete for a living and I am a manager at a call center. Neither of us "dress up" much and we live in an apartment because well, because we do. I think based on another person's review that profiling may be in play here. We were told that 2 people called in sick so we would have to reschedule our appointment and were given a gift card for our time. We have not returned and honestly, I'm not sure we will now since it seems like there are more rings than a hula hoop contest to jump through just to get the "free" vacation. If this is true, I'm not interested. I've been booking our annual vacation through online sites for years and we have been able to rent a car, get hotel stays and drive (we prefer driving) to our destinations (major cities usually,) eat and do tourist traps for 7-10 days for $1500-2000, including the I heart t-shirts. Went to the appointment. Facts: 1. Not a time share 2. They are selling website access to Tavel/vacation site. Much like Expedia.com. 3. They do get irritated if you go and don't buy their product (but they are not blatantly disrespectful, just subtle) e.g. they might say something like "I understand if you don't make enough money to do this" haha. 4. They did give us what was promised.... did not know that every date we wanted was a blackout date. So we can't use it. 5. So...... to get their best membership cost $18,000 ish apparently....... but if I bought it right at that moment would cost just under 6k...... but if you walk out the door the offer is gone. 6. There is an annual fee along with this large cash amount up front. My Assumptions: 1. This is an over priced Expedia... especially since Expedia is free. 2. I'm wondering if this is some sort of pyramid scheme.... I'm not sure tho. 3. They will more than likely respond to this review and say that I was never a customer. Lol. 4. I assume when you give your address to sign up for the brief...they look up where you live on Zillow. So they prolly know before you walk in about how much you make. Don't get pushed around.... know what your walking into. Ok, on 08/01/18 I was contacted by Mrs. Martin the business manager, asking me if she could rectify the situation, she gave me her personal number, she felt bad that there was such terrible miscommunication, a misunderstanding about how her company operates, she explained to me, that customer satisfaction was her number one priority. I boasted that having connections with Marriott and South West airlines, there was no way that her company could beat my deals, I was a VIP and when I retire in 2 years, her company would never come close to the vacation packages that I could get! Furthermore, I gave the heart breaking news that I was part of a travel club affiliated with Marriott. She posed a challenge, she could offer me a one time package deal at the members price. Here in Colorado, I pick the location and with no strings attached, I chose Vail. She found a condo for 2 days and 2 night for $520. At one days notice and she booked it for a family of 3. I did however, warn her that I was a writer by trade, and if the accommodation were sh--tty, like in a motel 6, the review would be scathing! She boldly replied, "You have nothing to worry about!" I was able to find a Marriott with the same package and with my discount it would be $475, but here was a problem, all rooms at Marriott were booked and I was limited to use only Marriott. I now realized, GTN members are not limited to just Marriott! They can book anywhere, Wow! what a cool perk! So tomorrow, we are going to check out our accommodation. We stayed in a condo operated by the Talisa Hotel Resorts!, heated pools, and a local spa, very nice! We arrived at our destination, in Vail, just look at the photo's! Here is the conclusion of my story. We have many friends and family that live in Aspen, and it was very nice to see them once again. Because of the rivalry between Aspen and Vail, well, we never let them know that we stayed in Vail. After they read this review, I will never here the end of it. The accommodations in Vail were stupendous! It was a wonderful experience! All provided by GTN! And yes Aspen has good accommodations as well! Ok here is my final review. There are 3 things that I admire about GTN: 1) Customer Service- The owner genuinely cares about his members and potential members! He has a wonderful business manager that works many sleepless hours, trying to please everyone, worrying about whether her members are happy or not. Its ok, Vanessa, just remember, you can please them, most of the time, you can satisfy them some of the time, but you can' t make them happy all of the time! As for the other scathing reviews, don't worry about it! You gave them your best that all you can do. Some of it may not be your fault, most of it may be do to the fact that the client, is just simply, not sure of themselves and/or really does not know what they want! 2) Customer Service Recovery- When a mistake is made this company can not travel back in time to prevent it, but what they can do is discover the problem and rectify the situation, promptly! Once again, because they care! I like the fact that I can pick up the phone at a moments notice, speak to a person who has an office base here in the US and not a person who is out sourced in Bangladesh, who claims that they speak English and it is just me, that doesn't understand their accent! 3) Adaptability - I like the fact that I can take a vacation at such a short notice and that I am not restricted to just one hotel or airline chain. The fact that booking maybe tight, yet a 4 or 5-star accommodations can be found, quickly, now that is VIP treatment. I am a non-member and I was treated like a Prince, Wow! I should hope to one day, become a member and to be treated like a King! I have but 2 regrets, I wish I would have joined when I had the chance and I am truly, sorry that I doubted GTN, integrity and service. You are a good company with a rare business philosophy. Wouldn't it be a true treasure for the public, if most American Businesses adopted such an honorable code? My wife and I have been members of Global for 4 years now. When we initially got invited to attend we were expecting a timeshare company. After a fun night with the local Denver branch, we decided to join the Global club. We spent 6500 on the package, and we can vacation up to 6 times per year! We have been on 14 vacations since we joined and have enjoyed every experience. The gifts they offer are free to attend their presentation, and we did not expect them to be very high quality. We used the free incentive, and found ourselves in a nice condo in Vegas for a few days. It was a decent experience, but we did have some hassles booking the freebie(expected). However the membership we own with them that we paid for has worked great every time, and I would recommend their services to anybody! I looked up the BBB report today for Global Travel Network, and recommend you do the same before trusting any review online. read more

I would have to agree with the last review. The membership really doesn't offer that much when you take into account the cost of membership and yearly fees. Plus, 3 plus hours of your time really takes up your day. The freebies to get you to come have so many restrictions that you wont use them and are incredibly difficult to redeem. They also lied and told us that we could use our week on two separate weekends but on attending were told it has to be all one week. They said "hey, if you're in Denver and ski you can use the freebie for a couple of free weekends accommodation" so first on attending they changed that to only one week and they didn't tell us the the ski season is a black out date and you can't stay during that period. Maybe for some people membership would work, I don't know. But if you have an appointment just to get your freebie - GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!! - and yes you are better to cut your losses with the $20 deposit. read more

What they are selling is not worth it. Just go to Kayak.com and you will get a better deal. I failed them right after the presentation. Yes they did give us the free gift for attending their seminar however what they call a resort is a literally Motel 6 in downtown area (not the beach as you see on the flyer, dont get fooled) which I found to cost about $30 bucks per night. So this was not a resort at all. Another scammy thing is the flight. We have several flights out to Mexico from where we live. The flight that they booked us in had multiple stops and long layovers to make it cheaper. I calculated a vacation package that I pay out of my pocket on the same hotel but flight with one stop and 1.5 hours layover in Phoenix was way lower than the tax amount and deposit that they told me. So if you want a free vacation, this is not the place to get one because it isnt free and their tax price is ridiculous. I am sure it is meant to cover their cost rather than an actual tax. The tax was $400, so even if the tax was 20%, the actual cost of the trip should be $2000. So ask yourself, would you pay $2000 for trip with multiple stops and long layovers and to stay on a Motel 6 quality hotel in downtown of some Mexico town just for 3 days? Recommend spending that presentation time somewhere else. read more

I was unsure what to expect when I received the call to come to their office and see what they had to offer. I figured whatever it was at least I would have the promotional vacation they offer for coming down and I could check out their services. I went with an open mind and I have to say I was not only surprised with what types of services were available but the bonus was the extra perks they offer to go along with their travel services. I love to travel and every year hotels get higher priced and that's for a little hotel room. I always thought I was amazing at finding the best deals off the internet and it would take forever hunting and even then it was never consistent and I never had resources like a travel agency would be able to get. The staff took the time to answer all my questions and it gave me the chance to travel more than ever before. Now It's been a little less than a year and I have already used their service twice. Setting up travel plans has been a breeze and I've been really happy with their services. I'm already planning a trip for 2019. I waited until I had used the service a couple times to write a review because I wanted to see how it would be when I was ready to travel and they have exceeded my expectations in every way so far. Did another sales presentation with them on 9/14. Started on time. Good presentation. The one on one info afterward was helpful. The membership seemed like a great deal and this time we bought 8 stars. We also chose the 7-night condo gift which was amazing last time we did it. This company is just a sales division of Global Discovery Vacations which is the company you want to review when considering a membership. Although the web is full of hundreds of negative reviews on Global Discovery Vacations (which scared me very much but I bought anyway), along with hundreds of positive ones too, I paid GDV $480 on a 2 week trip to Kauai at a condo where the rack rate is over $3,000 and I have found GDV to be wonderful to work with. I have called them 25 times with my numerous questions and schedule requests and they respond to everything quickly. I will leave a separate review of GDV but I am perplexed about the negative reviews that I read on both GTN and GDV as I couldn't be happier. The amt. you save is unbelievable. I may buy more stars. When my fiancé and I signed up for the free gift and sales presentation, I fully expected a scam. Being a smart shopper, I read all the reviews I could find before going. The reviews seemed to show that folks who sign up generally have a good experience with what they've purchased. So we followed through and attended. The sales rep and his wife seemed genuine and honest. We laughed a lot and thought they had a really great sales style despite the incredibly long pitch and process. We almost bought that night but decided to keep to our family agreement to sleep on any major purchase. At the end of the video pitch, they say that if you walk away the offer walks away with you, however our rep gave us a guarantee that they'd hold the deal until after we experienced the gift trip. We wanted to see how the customer service played out for the gift trip - figuring that the courtship experience would be telling. Well, if this is the customer service they give prospective members whose business they are trying to earn, I shudder to think what members experience in the event that they have a problem after they've purchased and GTN already has their money. This is what I was promised: - Short sales presentation. - $69 total cost for free gift trip that had only one restriction - no travel on major holidays. - We were shown the deluxe Royal Mayan Resort, we were told we could bring up to 4 friends for free. This is what I received: - Extremely long sales presentation (almost 3 hours) - $69 total cost for free gift with numerous restrictions (off-season travel only, no resorts - condo stays only, $200 security deposit, pick 2 dates and locations and after charging your $200 they pick which trip you get to take, pay extra for any additional guests) After getting home and reading all that fine print, I reached out to the rep who had promised he would be there for us to help get the gift trip booked. When I told him my concerns, he went into denial mode and claimed not to have shown us the resort property or promised to help with booking because the gift was through a separate company. That was disappointing! We went back and forth with me asking follow up questions and him sending long-winded denials. I'm a decent spirited person, so I was patient and even tried to relate to the challenge of having such high-volume traffic through his office and perhaps getting us mixed up with another couple. No luck. More denial. I even tried saying things like, "when a customer has a reasonable misrepresentation complaint a better tactic might be to validate their disappointment and and then work towards a mutual compromise." Not once did he practice active listening or any of the other customer service 101 things that someone does when they care about their customers' experience. All he did was repeatedly deny what he had told us in his office to get us to sign up. In the end he wrote me off with this statement: "I was not trying to get you to become a member because you didn't join on your 1st visit and the chances of you coming back in is slim to none in my and my wife's 20+ years of experience in this business. " Clearly all he had cared about was an instant sale and then covering his bum when we were unhappy with the misrepresentation. The sad part is that we had decided to join because it sounded like a good deal. We actually were that "slim to none" customer. This could have been a rave review even if we ultimately didn't get the trip promised to us. But after that kind of customer lack-of-service... Sorry, GTN. We have been members for 3 years and actually find it quite good. We travel a lot and have used this company's program about 15 times without any glitches. Whenever we have questions or issues, the reps have been helpful, polite and friendly. We did try booking through the travel agency arm but found it to be just as limiting as any other agency or the airlines. The only negative: lately we were asked to come in for a program update, which was a sales pitch to increase our benefits for a "mere" $1800. We decided after much discussion and research (in their office) to upgrade. Uh oh... the "deal" we signed is not being reflected on our account. OK, no biggie, we can have that corrected. EXCEPT! NO one seems to be able to correct the errors and so far, after two weeks of trying to work with them, NO ONE seems to be able to answer my emails or return my calls. So, a charge card challenge is in store.. But overall, if one uses the program and doesn't mind staying in resorts or condos out of city centers (a couple have been kinda remote, but worth it) then this is a good program. I went to the California State Fair in July of this year and filled out my information on a computer. I received a call back last week saying that I had won a vacation. I talked to this guy named Chris several times before I made any commitments. I won three vacations one of my choosing so I chose the 5 day 4 night cruise to Mexico all I have to pay is sales tax estimate is $400. He said all I had to do is go to Denver which is 8-9 hours from where I live sit through a 90 minute seminar explaining the company and then I would get my vacation. I decided what the hell so my man and I left our home at 6:30am today and got to Denver just in time for my appointment at 3:30pm. We talked with an agent for a minute or so a little bit about the company. After, we went into a room with a few other couples and listened to another agent talk about the company, what it offers and how it works. Once done with that we went back to the first agent and she explained what we get and for how much. We told them we were not interested got our cruise and left. It was about 5:30pm. Everything Chris told me was true, I got the vacation and it will only cost what I said but Global Travel I feel just want your money! They didn't have air conditioning in their building, they served us tap water which was nasty. All they are is just pushy salesman. If we took their offer right then it would have cost us $3,000-$10,000 if we decide later to take the offer it would be close to $19,000! Probably not worth your time and money. Global Travel Network gave us the 4 days and 3 nights offer by Grand Incentives after aggressively trying to sell their business. So we sent all the paperwork and $100 deposit. Grand Incentives cashed the deposit right away, but never heard back from them until I called them repeatedly to ask what's going on (941-552-5070). First they said wait a mont for processing, and then they said our offer was voided because we didn't send by Certified Mail (sure didn't stop them from cashing our money order). They say they'll send a refund in a few weeks, but I'm not holding my breath. Even if our offer went through, based on reviews of Grand Incentives, it sounds like a nightmare to claim. read more

I visited their booth at the Denver Golf Expo ref. golf vacations - I then attended the 90-minute presentation to earn the $229 weekly accommodations and to hear their pitch. I did not feel too high pressured, although for the ideal customer, their membership could be valuable. John H. and Sean S. were professional, courteous, informative, and facilitating. However, most of the negative reviews seem to be of folks not purchasing, and whining about the fine print that they clearly hadn't read. Going into the presentation, even I knew half the stuff, as it was clearly spoken on our invite. I confirmed every other detail as I went along in the process and personally, can only conclude that these negative reviewers do not read, do not ask questions and have no common sense or sense of timeliness. It wasn't bad for me at all I think as long as you know your going to a sales meeting then you will be fine. It did go a bit longer, I was there 2 hours. I also asked alot questions, I'm sure if I didn't, then I would of been out of there sooner. Long story short I never felt disrespected and they were friendly and professional. The last woman called me today and I finally shared one of the many reasons I am not interested in this scam after she would not accept my plea to take me off the calling list: I don't have time to go on a vacation even if it were a real offer because my mom has stage 4 cancer and I have been using all my time off to travel back and forth to Texas to see her - way more important then sitting through a scam. Zero stars would be given if possible! Here's my experience... We showed up at our scheduled time and were INSTANTLY profiled! We were told to sit in a small office to fill out paper work while EVERYONE else was in the conference room to view the presentation. We were not allowed in the presentation room, they were short on reps was the first excuse on why we couldn't go in there. We were asked if we were "really even serious" about this program (we didn't know anything about the program because we weren't in the room watching the presentation with everyone else). I am so disgusted with how unprofessional and rude Garth was. He also told us "memberships could cost anywhere from 1-7 thousand dollars and I am not sure how interested you would be at that point?" We were asked to come back in an hour for the next presentation and we would be treated as a "priority" with a food coupon thrown at us that we couldn't even make useful for our hour wait. I have had this service for over 2 years, I have been paying monthly for it for that period of time. I have yet to be able to use the service because every time I try there is nothing available. I was invited to attend a meeting today to get ID cards for the new and improved service. I get there and I find that I have today to pay them for the better service or just keep the old service and live with it. They called me about 7 times over the course of a week and never left a message. I screen calls from number I dont know. Finally in a moment of weakness I answered on of their calls to find out that I had won a package promotion to Disneyland. I accepted the package and set up a time to go listen to their presentation at their office. After looking online and seeing less than stellar reviews, we decided this was not something we wanted to deal with at this time. So I called back and released the package and canceled our meeting. Today, I get a different guy trying to tell me that I won the same package. I tell him that I already heard their pitch and have decline the package. My husband and I bought into the whole thing a couple years ago and 1st off, we were never able to use our FREE trip because of all the restrictions, 2nd we have never found a good deal going through then after talking to other places..including our time shares. However, we have found that it is still not of any benefit to us. So I reached out to the company and they told me that we could not sell back our membership. I just used my stars for this year for my daughter and ended up calling over 10 times to ask questions and the customer service has alwasy been outstanding. I really love the travel group and appreciate all the customer service and great resorts they have to offer. My only negative would be that I was not told there was a $200 reservation fee plus the refundable deposit when using the stars and I thought we only had a yearly maintenance fee and the deposit so was surprised when I made the reservation. They refused saying that we only get the deposit back after going to the consultation. WHY?!? Your company has not had any losses in relation to us, we cancelled our RSVP more than 24 hours beforehand, it's not like we'll be receiving dinner, you are not out any money whatsoever, give us our deposit back! We were promised it and then get B.S.'ed afterwards. My mother was considering on buying more stars for her package in the near future, but if this is how they treat people, I will definitely make sure to let her know how I feel about this company. There's all kinds of different reviews on this company and my wife and I thought to ourselves "Hell why not? Most we can do is say no and get a free trip". The presentation was awesome Nicole was super interactive and made it so much better. We met with our travel advisor Sam who was a tremendous help to us and wanted to get us to join so him and his Travel Director Donna really sat down with us and helped us through this awesome journey! Added perk even after we joined we still got our free 8 day 7 night trip to wherever we wanted to go in the next year. All in all we were only there about 2 1/2 hours but it didn't even feel like that long because of the family feel in there. Even if you don't join this club now I recommend it in the future because the star system they use is fantastic! I will review this further after we take our trip but so far my wife and I are all in all super impressed and we look forward to vacationing so much longer and at least once a year from here on out. read more

I received several phone calls from this company. They don't put their business name on the caller ID, just a local phone number. They have called both my home and cell numbers. I finally answered one of their calls. The person asked if I remembered registering for a prize at the Taste of Colorado? I said I did and they told me that I hadn't won the prize but I was eligible for a free trip for two. I asked them who won the prize? They didn't know and when I kept questioning them about who won, the became very flustered. I told them that this was a scam and don't call me again. Very professional staff. They work hard at their job just like anybody else. And yes, they are in sales, but honest and true to their word. We didn't buy, but we weren't treated badly because of it. They keep their end of the deal. read more

I do not know what these other people are talking about. We have been members with Global Travel Network for 9 years now and have taken numerous trips with them. We could not be happier. Global makes traveling affordable. We have had no problems booking trips to the locations we want. It may not be the exact resort we were originally looking at but it is the location we were wanting. It is always a condo, not a hotel, which we love because we love having a kitchen, plus the extra room and all the furnishings. These other people on yelp are complaining about the incentive gift which has nothing to do with Global Travel themselves. The incentive gift is from the marketer not from Global. Yes the marketers were persistent in calling us but we are glad we went in to learn about this travel program. Buying into Global was the best, smartest decision we made. If you enjoy traveling then you need to check them out because you will save thousands of dollars on your vacation trips and still be staying in some of the same resorts that would otherwise cost you thousands of dollars more. This company has been in business for over 44 years and for us that is saying something. We have had a very positive experience with Global and recommend them to our friends and family. In fact a couple of our friends have signed up with Global, taken trips and tell us how happy they are with Global. We just wanted to put our two cents in because, as owners, we have been very pleased. Global Travel Network is NOT a scam, they are the real deal!
