    Mango sticky rice

Cute and intimate Thai spot that just opened; the interior is very cute and jazz-like with it's wooden finishes. We came for an early dinner and had a good time, the service was extremely kind and attentive. The pacing of the dishes wasn't great and did throw off the meal. We had two dishes arrive and had enough time to finish and waited a bit before our final entree arrived. At that point, we were too full to finish the dish since we sat for awhile. I know they just opened last month so I will give them the benefit of the doubt and hope it's resolved by my next visit :) Morning Glory Salad - the star of the show. We didn't think we'd enjoy the dish as much but it was so good. The morning glory is fried and compliments well with the dressing (sour and spicy) with fresh tomatoes, onions, etc. Crispy Garlic Duck - good, but the duck was a bit bland and dry. Pad Thai - good, a bit more salty than previous dishes. Did not have the traditional sweet element. Mango Sticky Rice - delicious, no notes!

Hello, Morning Glory! The veggie, ya pervs. If you're like me....find salads boring and a poor value at restos, Glom's Morning Glory Salad will change that. It was so bomb. I. Could. Not. Stop. Eating. It. But, more on that later. Opening last month, Glom is serving Thai comfort food with a modern, elevated flair and natural wines to pair. They feature monthly specials. All sauces and curries are made from scratch. It's a small, intimate space so rezzies are recommended for weekend dinner. F O O D * Crispy Morning Glory Salad w/ ground pork, cherry tomatoes, shallots, cashews, and lime dressing ($22): https://tinyurl.com/5n6pzmdz An explosion of flavors and textures, this salad combines feathery-light, crispy tempura-battered water spinach with savory ground pork, sweet cherry tomatoes, and buttery toasted cashews. The sweet, sour, and spicy lime dressing brings everything together... adding a bright kick that keeps each bite balanced and interesting. * Stuffed Wings: Thai-style stuffed chicken wings filled w/ pork, sticky rice, chili, toasted rice powder, house spice ($17): https://tinyurl.com/3cd2ayu8 The wings were fried beautifully with a light, shatteringly crispy exterior. Unfortunately, the sticky rice was mushy and bland, and I couldn't detect any pork. Perhaps adding shallots and mushrooms would give the filling more flavor? * Braised Beef Penang: Phanaeng curry w/ braised wagyu beef cheek, jasmine rice ($27): https://tinyurl.com/4ktuuzsc Rich and creamy with mild heat and subtle sweetness, this bold, flavorful curry has layers of complexity. Its velvety, gravy-like consistency from the peanuts clings to the meltingly tender wagyu beef cheeks. While it includes a bowl of white rice, you'll def need to order another to share. * Crying Tiger: Grilled ribeye steak w/ house tamarind dipping sauce ($24): https://tinyurl.com/4n8j8sdh Charcoal grilled, the ribeye was perfectly medium rare - juicy and tender with a smoky charred flavor. Served with a punchy nam jim jaew for dipping and fresh herbs to cut through the richness. S E R V I C E Warm and gracious Thai hospitality from start to finish. Our server, Nina, was fantastic...despite being the only person on the floor, she remained attentive throughout our meal, keeping our water glasses full, clearing empty plates promptly, and thoughtfully packing up our leftovers. Courses arrive at a relaxed pace. A M B I A N C E Vintage retro vibes with soft moody lighting ideal for date night or GNO. Small dining room with seven tables, three high tops, and two outdoor tables. Awesome jazz covers of popular r&b, pop, and edm songs. P A R K I N G Street parking. Easily found during lunch but I can imagine it being challenging during peak dinner time. Overall, we had a very enjoyable meal at Glom. The resto feels like an extension of someone's cozy home where beloved Thai dishes are served with bold yet approachable flavors and thoughtful modern touches. We'll def be back to try the Garlic Pepper Jumbo River Prawns!

    Grilled Herb Chicken Khao Soi

$7 Iced Pandan: a sweet banana leaf drink. Good $22 Grilled Herb Chicken Khao Soi: curry sauce, noodles with herb chicken. I tried my 1st Khao Soi (with steak) down in Monterey and enjoyed it immensely. This is my 2nd Khao Soi. I would say the chicken lost its gamey taste once I pushed it down into the sauce. I think the recipe deserves a high quality chicken or a variety of chicken prevalent in south east Asia. Lovely atmosphere. It's an intimate, slightly upscaled rendition of something from the 50's or 60's but very Thai coded.

We started with the lightly battered oyster mushrooms, which were crispy, flavorful, and made a great appetizer. The roasted duck curry was also really good and had an unexpected combination of lychee and pineapple that added a nice touch of sweetness to the rich curry. The highlight of the meal was definitely the morning glory dish that everyone recommends. It absolutely lived up to the hype! It had so much flavor with the perfect crunch in every bite. I'd definitely come back again. The only downside is parking--it can be pretty difficult to find a spot, especially during busy hours. Other than that, the food was well worth the visit!

Best Thai food in the area! Cute and tasty place Nice staffs Lighting is great for a date night Go!!

Probably the best Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. The Khao Soi is easily the standout dish -- the chef makes the curry paste from scratch, and you can taste the difference. The broth is rich, fragrant, and deeply flavorful, with a level of freshness and complexity that makes this one of the best Khao Soi dishes I've had, including those in Thailand. The Green Apple Pork Belly Salad is another must-order. The bright, crisp green apple adds a refreshing contrast to the tender, savory pork belly, creating a perfect balance of flavors and textures. Beyond the food, the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with chill pop music that gives the space a relaxed, modern feel. Everything feels authentic and thoughtfully prepared, with an honest approach to quality ingredients and flavors.

Came here for a date night and the vibe was cozy, intimate, and upscale. The mustard-yellow leather seating, warm lighting, and soft jazz covers in the background made for a very romantic atmosphere. My bf had mentioned on the reservation that we were celebrating something, and after we were seated, the staff surprised us with a couple glasses of champagne. Such a thoughtful touch. Service throughout the night was warm, attentive, and welcoming. Highlights from the meal: - Prawn & Minced Pork Kuakling - Packed with flavor and definitely brought the heat. The house-made curry paste was rich, spicy, and incredibly aromatic. A must-order if you enjoy authentic Thai spice. - Grilled Herb Chicken Khao Soi - Very juicy grilled chicken thighs. The lime, pickled greens, and red onion balanced the rich coconut curry perfectly. - Morning Glory - Simple but delicious. The crisp stir-fried greens were a great contrast to the richer dishes. - Iced Pandan (to-go) - Refreshing and not overly sweet. My bf is a huge pandan fan and loved it. Looking forward to coming back and trying the crispy garlic roast duck!

I came here with friends during their soft opening and it was such a cute experience. The place feels perfect for a date night, and the service was super warm and friendly. The flavors were a little different from what I'm used to, but everything was really delicious. My favorite dishes were the crab fried rice and the grilled fish. If you're someone who enjoys trying new flavors and experiences, I definitely recommend giving this place a try!

Loved this cozy Thai spot! The food was delicious and beautifully served. My favorites were the crispy Stuffed Wings, Crispy Morning Glory Salad, Whole Fried Fish with Thai Herb Salad, and the tender Massaman Lamb. We finished with the Brown Butter Banana Toast, which was so good with the melting vanilla ice cream. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Such a lovely experience - I'll definitely be back

I came with five friends, and it came out to about $50 -$60 per person. The food was absolutely delicious :) it really felt like we were eating in Thailand. My favorite dishes were the chicken larb, glass noodle salad, and the herb-topped whole fish ( Pla lui Suan ) The only thing I didn't love was the amount of garlic in some dishes; because I'm not bid fan garlic Next time, I'd love to try some of the other menu items. The restaurant is well managed, and the service was excellent and very good vibes

Food and atmosphere here are phenomenal! Fried chicken is a must!! Love here and I will recommend my friends for sure :)

My wife and I entered and it was not crowded. However, there were 2 groups of people there and they seemed to be enjoying themselves. We were immediately greeted and seated. Once seated, we were greeted by the owner (Did not know she was the owner at the time..lml). She informed us of what came with the Charcuterie Board and we chose Fontaine over Goat cheese (My wife does not like goat cheese). We ordered the codfish cakes. She provided us with some wine selections and even offered some to be tried (Free) to help with deciding. My wife chose a Rose and I chose a Malbec. When the Board came, we were amazed at the presentation. When are tasted it, we fell in love lml. Everything went together so well.. including the wine we decided to pair with it. We complimented every bite to once another. The codfish cake was seasoned, lightly battered and full of fish. It was served with olive oil and lime. So so so good!!!! We enjoyed 2 glasses of wine during our time. The Board was enough to share between 2 ppl. If it is more than 2 ppl, you will need to add/pay for additional items. We received great conversation from the owner. My wife at some point asked her she was the in fact the owner and she did yes. Her name is Diva (Might be misspelled...def get real name, but that is exactly how she is). She was so personalable, honest, transparent, and full of smiles. Oh.. they have live music on Saturdays beginning at 7pm. They rotate the genres. They spay have a heated outdoor patio with seating that we will try next time. I think we found out wine bar joy. Thank you for an exceptional 5 star treatment, without even trying. It was so natural!!!

I've been a patron of Vintage for years, and what's not to like? The location is gorgeous (a former pumping plant thats been transformed into a cozy, intimate space with a garden out front that changes with the seasons). And the shop is nestled right in the heart of Berkeley's Gourmet District with Peets, Saul's Deli, Cheeseboard Coop and Pizza, Andronico's, and Chez Panisse as next door neighbors. Inside you will find wines by color, grape, and region. It's not an enormous collection, but a lot of thought and experience has gone into presenting customers with something new and surprising. If I can't find myself making an easy decision, the staff have always been patient and helpful in finding the right bottle for my needs. Vintage also offers several different wine clubs for people who like a monthly or bimonthly grab bag of adult grape juice (including the occasional bubbles!). This is the wine store I wish I had as a neighborhood shop. For now, it's a well deserved destination (along with Kermit Lynch Wine Shop) that has yet to disappoint. Give it a try!

I really wanted to like this place. I'd walked by several times and loved the interior design, and the videos on Instagram made it seem like such a great spot. I stopped in one evening by myself, ordered a glass of wine and the warm olives (which were delicious), and was looking forward to a relaxing night. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest disappointment. The restaurant was packed, and the atmosphere felt more concerned with maintaining an image than making guests feel welcome. I understand some restaurants embrace a more reserved European style of service, but this came across as cold and pretentious rather than intentional hospitality. As a solo diner especially, I didn't feel acknowledged or valued as a guest. It also didn't help that the dining room had a noticeable body odor smell that took away from the experience. On a positive note, the bathroom was clean and beautifully designed. I originally thought this would become my go-to place to grab a glass of wine while waiting for a table at the ramen spot next door, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Reading through other reviews, it seems I'm not the only one who had this impression. Oakland's charm has always been its people. You can open a French-inspired wine bar, but hospitality translates into every language. If you're going to bring a Parisian aesthetic to Oakland, don't mistake indifference for sophistication. Guests should leave feeling welcomed, not judged.
