First and foremost, I am eternally grateful that Kiara opened up Montebello's first Pilates studio. I attended her class on day 1 and have completed 4 classes so far. Kiara is patient, kind, and a thorough instructor. The Gloot studio has a wonderful ambiance that is calming and intimate. I have enjoyed going to each class and have felt it each time how much of a full body workout I am getting. I love that Kiara has created a space and community through wellness and health.

First of all, I am BEYOND ecstatic that Kiara opened up this studio in our little town of Montebello. We needed something like this DESPERATELY and we finally have it! When I passed by and saw it i thought OMG I've been wanting to try Pilates since FOREVER! So I quickly looked it up and booked my appointment. I havent worked out in a studio or group setting in over 2 years when I would kick box and so I was a bit nervous. I had NEVER tried reformer pilates, just mat pilates and I was unsure. As soon as you get in you notice the studio is small but intimate. Kiara greeted me right away and asked me if I had ever done pilates before and I told her no. She made sure during class to watch to make sure i was doing it correctly and would help me if needed. The first 25 min of class is A BEAST. I was shaking using muscles I havent used in over 2 years. The last 25 min is my fav because you're doing more stretching after the intense burn and it feels so good! I decided to buy some classes and I'm so excited to be on this pilates journey!!!!!!

    Let's sweat class

I've taken 6 classes so far and I'm already seeing a difference in my body Kiara is AMAZING at what she does. You can tell she really knows Pilates and takes the time to make sure you understand every movement. The studio is super clean, aesthetic, and such a good vibe. I love that she actually cares about you learning the workouts correctly instead of just rushing through them. So proud of this brand new business -- highly recommend!

Any plans for them to join classpass as some point?

Is this location fat friendly? I would hate to spend my money at a place that doesn't accept or support all body types

She instructs on Tuesdays in the morning. It's also been a minute since I did Lagree and the body shakes were crazy. We had a small class of six and Jen corrected our form to make sure we got the most out of her class. Definitely would come back.

Instructor Guan made the experience feel much more approachable. She did a great job explaining how everything worked, demonstrating proper form, and guiding the class through each movement clearly and patiently. She also made helpful adjustments when needed and encouraged people when they were on the right track, which made the class feel supportive without any pressure or judgment. By the end of class, my uneasiness had completely subsided and I felt great after the workout. Guan has a natural talent for creating a positive and welcoming environment, while still making the class challenging in a good way. I'd definitely recommend taking a class with her, especially if you're new to Lagree or nervous about trying it for the first time.

This is a lovely, quaint Pilates studio for all skill levels, the instructors are very kind and knowledgeable. Since the classes, I've noticed a much leaner physique, muscles in my legs and core, more energy. The classes are so fun and every instructor brings different styles, there are English, mandarin, Korean speaking instructors. While I unfortunately don't think I can come back here any time soon (each class they have is 15+ credits), I enjoyed my class with Hanna so much that I wanted to write her a good review. When I walked in, someone at the front desk checked me in right away and she had a warm personality! Very inviting. She shared with me that we leave our shoes by the door, then we walk down the hallway to our class. I noticed that the floor was a little dusty as we walked past the other rooms for aerial yoga and for private classes. The Pilates class room itself is clean and designed well. There was plenty of space between one reformer and the next. Hanna explained all the instructions clearly and she had good pacing. She made sure that our form was correct throughout. It was nice that there were only three of us during my class so it felt like we were getting more attention. I also appreciated how encouraging she was and the music selection on the background made the entire time pass by like a breeze. My feedback would be about the reformer machines themselves. The reformer machines felt a little cheap just because the ropes would make this sound while we would be pushing to get resistance that I haven't heard from other Pilates studio machines. I saw some fraying on my ropes specifically. The platform also felt more narrow than the average. I was still able to do the exercises but as a 5'3 girly, I felt like I had the longest legs in the world. Overall, I'm glad that there is another Pilates studio near me that has dedicated parking and talented instructors. I hope they consider checking the machines every now and then for wear and tear but other than that, I had a wonderful time!

I found them through ClassPass and noticed on their website that first-time clients are required to take the Luxe Fundamentals class, which I appreciated since it helped me get familiar with the studio and teaching style. I already had my own grip socks, but they do have grip socks available for purchase if needed. The studio itself is spacious, bright, and filled with natural light. They have eight custom Balanced Body reformers that felt incredibly comfortable to use. The reformers are slightly longer than standard ones, which was my personal preference. I'm sure others would like this as well! The layout is thoughtfully designed and never felt crowded, even during class. I also caught a glimpse of one of their private rooms, which looked lovely. I took Luxe Fundamentals with Myra, and she was fantastic. She incorporated a 10-pound Pilates circle into the workout, making it a surprisingly challenging full-body class while still offering modifications for those with back pain or other limitations. What stood out most was how she took the time to learn everyone's names, which made the experience feel personal and welcoming. The music was upbeat without being distracting, and Myra's instructions were easy to hear throughout class. There's a small bench near the entrance for personal belongings, though I would have appreciated a bit more space for bags and other items. One thing to keep in mind is parking. The lot is fairly small, so I would definitely recommend arriving early to secure a spot and settle in before class. Overall, I had a great first experience and can see why people love this studio. I'll definitely be back.

People's Yoga in Monterey Park (near ELAC) exceeds my wildest dreams. This single studio with wooden-floors and plants is homey and yet located on the second floor of a plaza and across from the metro station (Atlantic stop). It's truly a delight - not to mention the one and only Latina-owned yoga studio is the area (if not LA?). My favorite class is "Body Soft" on Thursday nights at 7pm with Diane. This class is for those that want to ease into yoga (a.k.a. Beginners) or those who need to chill from a long work week. But...please don't meditate into sleep. Yes, rarely does snorting ensue. On-site parking is available and the studio provides all the equipment and even water, just bring your own water bottle. Pre-registration is recommended as the studio only accommodates so many people. If the single class price is steep for your budget, check out their packages as they offer a built-in discount. Also, first timers can try out a monthly on a discount. For the yogis or yogis in training, you may be interested in their training program. Personally, I'm not a fan of virtual movement classes because I prefer to be in-person, but for those on a shoe string budget that may an option. Either way, I LOVE People's Yoga! Shout out to Leah and Lauren, co-founders, Latina mama business owners, and yoga instructors. Their dream to open this brick and mortar became a reality years ago and has been going strong for years.

My wife had already been…read moregoing for a while and encouraged me to try it, and it ended up becoming the best weekend workout I could've added to my routine. I'd been recovering from a herniated disc from years earlier, which left me with limited flexibility and reduced strength in my right hip. Lesley built sessions that targeted my core and the supporting muscle groups I'd been compensating for. After about a year of consistent weekend sessions, the improvement in strength, mobility, and stability was obvious. Lesley is intuitive, knowledgeable, and patient. She helped reduce pain, improve my posture, and rebuild core strength in a way that actually stuck. That foundation has made a real difference. Her background in physical therapy shows in everything she does. She understands muscles, joints, and personal limits, and she pays attention. She builds sessions around what each person needs, not a one‑size‑fits‑all routine. The studio itself elevates the experience. The variety of equipment--the Pilates reformer, Cadillac Reformer, barrel, and more--makes it easier to target specific muscle groups and perform different postures correctly. It keeps each session fresh, challenging, and genuinely next level. The progress really showed during travel. Long days of walking or climbing stairs used to be tough. Now I move better, hold better posture, and can enjoy places--like the uneven streets of Pompeii--without the same strain. I still have work to do, but Pilates of Pasadena has made that progress possible. I highly recommend Lesley and Pilates of Pasadena.
