Hallmark is one of my favorite store to shop for cards and gifts. When I am in the area, I like visiting this store. Lots variety and this is one of the bigger Hallmark store. I like browsing here and I will come back again and again whenever I am in the area. Service is great! You can find something reasonable as a gift at this store. Gloria Hallmark Shop is located in Santa Clara. I come here often to collect redeem my Just Because or Shoe Box card each month. As any interactions with customer service representatives in stores at any Hallmark location on phone or online as I primarily communicative in English only. Plenty of items for cards, gifting, or just a whatever else you'll like to collect for fun for keepsake is located here. Poor advertisement on the free blanket when customers spend over $100. When questioned about it, the older worker yelled "are you a gold crown member?!" in a condescending manner. I stated I wasn't but sign never mentioned it was for gold crown members only. Left it as that, but they would save a lot of confusion if the store actually worded it correctly. Surprised as to how rude they are to customers who spent over $100 in their store. Beware of senior citizen worker. read more

This Hallmark Gold Crown store located in Santa Clara Town Center had everything I needed and more this past Sunday. But that's cuz I was just looking for a fitting greeting card for someone special. Still, I was seriously impressed by their selection of cute and clever bday cards galore. It was hard to choose as they had multiple options in the humor section alone and with appropriate themes for my recipient including gaming, marvel, dc, and I even got distracted by bigfoot and others that made me chuckle as my exploration in the greeting card section lost focus and got out of hand. I ended up finding a cool popup card superman themed, ideal for a superman fan (good for kids or adults). I also browsed through the holiday decorations aisle of course, and hit the button on the Little Mermaid ornament which played "Part of Your World." I'm a fan of Hallmark's musical disney ornaments, and this one's a good one. Service was standard when making my purchase, and we didn't encounter any problems or delays while there... except for my bf waiting for me to pick a card :P read more

Wonderful cards for every occasion and I mean every occasion! Cute special items to purchase for every occasion. I love the store.

Selection of goods is overall decent here. Came in for some of the Christmas products being on sale. However, service left a little bit to be desired. We were not greeted and the lady seemed to be not the most happy camper. When we finished paying and buying a bunch of stuff she didn't even offer a bag which seemed slightly bizarre. Overall, it's a nice location, but customer service is not where their talents lay. read more

A lot of greetings these days are electronic, though sending cards and so on using Hallmark will never go out of style. For the most part, you can probably find a card here if you need one. But that's about it, the selection of gift wrap and other items is poor. And the store is always a disaster--boxes and clutter everywhere, regardless of the time of year (I've attempted to shop here on multiple occasions). One thing they do have a lot of at this location: highly over-priced ceramic and crystal figurines. Don't bother shopping here. read more

Unfortunately the service here isn't very welcoming or friendly as the other Hallmarks. Which is a shame because merchandise wise they have quite a bit - especially of the itty bittys. I love the location of this hallmark as there is quite a bit of parking and I have found that each hallmark may have different specialty items. It's worth coming to check it out but wouldn't expect huge service expectations which sometimes it's fine when I just want to browse. read more

It's a Hallmark store, so you know what they have. Good selection of cards and gifts, as usual. However, the service I received here today was absolutely terrible. I came in with my EXTREMELY WELL-BEHAVED service dog to buy several cards. Had no problem whatsoever, my dog stayed at my feet as I shopped for about twenty minutes, as he is trained to do. When I approached the register to pay for my cards, the owner told me dogs were not allowed unless you can hold them. My service dog, like many service dogs, is not small enough to be carried. I told her I was sorry and proceeded to make my purchase so that I could quickly leave the store. Unfortunately in that short time, the owner and another customer began insulting me and my dog. One star for having good cards, etc. but I would not return to this location because they are so rude that they do not deserve my business. read more

I always enjoy going to Gloria's. The staff is friendly. They have a very extensive collection of cards for every occasion. They've also saved me a few times with last minute gifts. During the holidays they carry a lot of hard to find Hallmark ornaments, especially the Star Wars collection the kids love. read more

Apparently this never posted since I gave the store a well-deserved lower rating based on experience described below. Thanks to a friend letting me know & encouraging me to try again, here is my review: Dec 27, 2017 aprx 4pm pst. I spent an hour+ for my annual purchase of cards for the coming year - 35 cards totaling $145.00 + tax at Gloria's Hallmark in Santa Clara, CA. Upon checking out I asked for the free pocket calendar but the clerk said their store requires a purchase. I pointed to the many cards I was buying but she explained the purchase must be merchandise other than cards to receive the free calendar. I gave her my free birthday gift coupon that stated on the coupon "20% off your entire purchase". She explained that their store only applies the discount to merchandise not cards; even though cards were "my entire purchase". She offered to honor my $5 reward dollars towards the purchase of cards. She would not give me her name, the manager's name or the owner's name when I asked. Only that they had their own store policies separate from Hallmark on these matters. I could leave my contact info for someone to get back to me. I opted to leave the store without making a purchase. I went down the street to the Dollar Store and purchased 40 cards for $23.00! I have never been so ill-treated at any store but especially a Hallmark store. Any Hallmark store I've ever done bustiness with has honored the coupons as printed. They never required a purchase to receive a FREE item. They never rejected a 20% off coupon towards cards. They never made a distinction that cards are not merchandise. I contacted Hallmark on-line to let them know of Gloria's Horrible Hallmark store. Hallmark was kind enough to send me the free calendar. I will not only never set foot in that store again, I will purchase all my cards from the Dollar Store down the street. read more

I needed to do an exchange, but did not have the receipt with me so they declined. Asked if I could come back with the credit card i used to pull the purchase up. It has been 20 days, and the policy is 14 days. Everything is in original packaging, untouched. They pulled the small shop business card, which is absolutely ridiculous. I've spent tons and tons of money here over the years. I don't plan to spend another time there. read more

Stopped by here to pick up some birthday cards because I love Hallmark's variety! The store is big and they have all types of awesome stuff! But when I came in to this location it seems as if they were doing inventory or some type of restocking. I got my cards and headed to the cash register to check out. Next day I was looking at my online bank statement and I noticed I was charged $99.73 instead of $16.60, big mistake. So I called them and they told me to come in and they would fix it. When I went back to the store they were very apologetic and refunded the money they overcharged. I understand things happen and they were busy trying to focus on other things, but a way to fix this issue might be to have those who are doing inventory stick to that and someone just solely for the register and not intermingle because it takes away from the customers. read more

Lack of employee at register when I was ready to check out, check. Bell to ring to get lady to the front of the store to check me out, check. All-in-all this store served my needs. When I walked in, I asked the lady where I could find a card for what I needed. She told me exactly where to find it. I don't need awesome customer service to buy a card. If you need assistance, you are going to need to ask because they don't offer. There was a notice that they will be closed for remodeling June 10 - August 1, 2013. But the people get 1 star, they are out right rude, I go in today and am picking up my Hallmark 2019 ornaments and the cashier says "its amazing how we only see some people once a year" WHAT?!!! Hallmark stores and card stores in general are a dying breed. There are fewer and fewer stand alone card stores. So you would think the ones still around would appreciate their customers and give excelled customer service. Gloria's Hallmark shop has been at their Santa Clara location for over thirty years and through their renovations and remodeling, I have shopped there for as many years. This location has a wide selection of cards and gifts; things you wouldn't normally find in other Hallmark/gift stores. It's clean and gift displays are well done. But what the store has in cards and gifts selections, it lacks in staff associates personable polite customer service. Over the years, as other reviewers have noted, the customer service runs hot and cold, they do for some but not for all, that's not okay. You can't pick and choose who you want to give service to. They smile, they say hello but there is a lack of genuine sincerity and courtesy. A recent visit a few days ago, had me shopping for a Mother's Day gift. There were a number of customers in the store with me. While I'm looking at their gifts, I hear a few of the customers ask questions. The staff associates responses are borderline coarse and crude. The staff associates are not resourceful or helpful, suggesting another gift/card if they don't have what the customer wants. The response was "I don't know what you are talking about. We don't have anything like that." The staff associate just walked away. The customer walked out. Wow. Another customer was buying two large figurines and asked for the boxes. The staff associate replies they don't have the boxes any longer, that they threw them out long ago. It's the sarcastic tone in which it was said, like it was ridiculous they would even keep the boxes. Another customer was buying a holiday ornament that was advertised 3 for $10. The staff associate said "3 for $10." The customer said they wanted only one. The staff associate stared at the customer for a few seconds, then sighing, took out a calculator from a drawer. Are you kidding me? I also heard the staff talking to each other about other co-workers, their boss, how they support each other and guess other stores don't do the same. I'm done. I will not be back because it's not worth the caustic customer service. read more

I sure do think it is a nice gesture to offer a scarf to their customers . So what if it is in a grab bag ! It is free - it is called luck of the draw !! I am sure it cost the owner some money to do this and people still bitch ! If he offers a free lotto ticket to everyone would they bitch if it was not a winner ???? Come on , be thankful and move on ! Every time I go in this store Debbie who I think is a manager is hopping all over helping people all over the store offering to call another store if they don't have what they want . If you are standing there reading cards at closing time you know people might have stuff to do and need to be on their way . Give them a break , just like you when you are done with work you want to get home to your life . Zero stars should be an option. Anxiously went to Gloria's Hallmark in Santa Clara to redeem my Mother's Day mailer for a free scarf with any purchase. Hoped they would still have a purple or a pink. Since the mailer said "while supplies last". Very surprised to receive a "grab bag" rather than be able to make my choice. According to the saleswoman, every time they have a promotion, all the good items go first. I expected to get a floral print or spring color, one of the scarves in the photo on the mailer. I was very surprised and sorely disappointed to open the brown stapled bag and find a blue scarf that looked more like a table runner. I would bet none of the bags had any of the scarves pictured in the mailer. The next day my husband went back to the store to give them a chance to redeem themselves. He was met with a horrible reaction from the saleswoman. She said the mailer didn't have room for all the scarves they were giving out. To make matters even worse she didn't see there was a problem since it was free! Any establishment shouldn't participate in a promotion, if they don't want to. This is clearly false advertising and bait and switch. This location gives the Hallmark brand a horrible reputation. read more

Today I went into Gloria's Hallmark. I am a Platinum Gold Crown member and enjoy shopping during the season. Instead of being put in a holiday mood I got a bad vibe as soon as I entered the store. One of the sales people and the manager were answering each other harshly about merchandise that had been placed or priced wrong. The one employee kept blaming the shifts that were not there. The employees were not friendly at all. Upon checkout I spoke to the manager about my experience and let him know that the tone of voice and demeanor was not conducive to the holidays. He did not seem concerned the one employee that had been so complaining rolled her eyes and made a face at me. Not only will I never patronize this place again I plan to personally contact the Hallmark company. read more

This is absolutely the worst Hallmark store as far as customer service. I swear every time I come here, I walk out feeling terrible. The staff are SO rude and unwelcoming. For Hallmark, I NEVER feel like it's "HOME" when I walk in and definitely NOT when I leave. This place needs to close (SORRY). I just don't think I'll come back anymore cuz it's SO atypical was of what Hallmark represents. Maybe swap out your employees cuz the ones you have just aren't worthy of the Hallmark representation! Awful customer service! I bought my grandma's Christmas gift here. It was an angel. No one looked close at it and it was boxed up. When I got home I discovered the neck had a Crack. I brought it back the next day and apparently it had two more chipped pieces! I asked for a refund and the Indian woman sitting near the cashier says NO YOU BROKE IT! Basically she calls me a liar, getting aggressive and angry with me. She claims that no one would ever sell a chipped piece like that after looking at it.. Well they did.. Anyway this woman claims to be the manager of the store although she is just the owners wife. Gika I believe is her name. I had to find out from another employee since when I asked her name she said "I don't know" and walked away... What kind of establishment is this?? So unprofessional. The one they tried to exchange also had spots on the angels face and then tried to claim that's how they are made. When I asked why the first angel which is IDENTICAL has no spots they had no answer for me. Bunch of scam artists. Never coming back again. read more

A convenient location in a still being remodeled and expanded shopping strip mall center makes Gloria's Hallmark a perfect stop for gifts and more. After standing by the cash register for half an hour waiting for them to acknowledge me and offer assistance, I decided my time was best spent elsewhere. Most people here complained about the location being inside the Mervyn's plaza and that made the store hard to find. I don't think that is a reason to rate a place with 1 or 2 stars. Let me tell you a reason to rate this place with a low star rating. COUNTRY MUSIC! Yep, country music playing at an annoyingly loud volume as you is trying to pick out the perfect card for your perfect somebody. Apparently the speaker distribution prevents the music from being heard toward the front of the store, so they turn it up. Yet, the speakers are in the back of the store, you know, where they keep all the cards. So as you are thumbing through the "Shoebox" and reading that funny little line from Maxine, it will all be done to the tune of Keith Urban. It just makes it impossible to try and find a card. We have complained a few times and when we do so the staff act offended and say we are the only ones who say something. Outside of that, their stock is of any other Hallmark store. So if you are in a pinch, and are in the area of El Camino and Scott and are intelligent enough to go into the plaza to find the store AND have ear plugs, well then shop on young warrior, shop on! read more

I come once in a while to pick up cards and gifts. Its a nice place. They have a great Disney collection. Great card selection and precious moments. Hallmarks are known to have cute little gifts for all occasions. You will surely find them here. I'm usually in and out. Younger lady is never happy and can be a bit rude. However, there is another lady that works here who is sweet. I told her I worked for a hallmark for about 10 years. She wanted to offer me a position. Worst retail experience ever. The rude lady behind the counter with short hair couldn't be bothered at all to help me. She was not knowledgeable about any product, and she was more worried about texting on her phone. Then she kept calling out for a girl named Amanda to come help me. Amanda was awesome. Super helpful. Virginia This Hallmark store gets 1 star after my experience with lack of customer service. I purchased a gift on the 28th of December that was wrapped in tissue by an employee,when I got home to make sure the tag was removed I found the gift had been broken .I took the broken item back to the store with the intention of just getting store credit and buying something else.The ladies in the store were so rude and said that there was no way this could have broken in the store while being wrapped.I left the owner a note and asked him to contact me on Monday and when I returned on Thursday to find out what the owner had said the employee was on the phone talking about Party City going out of business and that Gloria's Hallmark can really benefit from selling balloons,and other party items.She continued to ignore me for about 5 mins. When she finally got off the phone I asked what the owner had decided,and she said "we cannot take the item back"I said fine please take my name off your mailing list.I have shopped at this Hallmark for 25 years and will never step my foot back in their store.
