Love the Burger Monday and am never disappointed in the Burger or fries or broccoli if I am being good.

I have always been a fan of Glory Days. My fiance's eyes light up anytime I mention wanting to go their for dinner. Their ribs literally fall of the bone every time I order them. It is your traditional sports bar atmosphere that is unique in the sense that each table has their own speaker box that you can connect to any TV in the restaurant to hear the sound. Of all the times I've been, I was displeased with one entree (Philly cheese steak) that I can remember, which is a nice feat for me! Although this review is for the west end location, I would prefer going to the newer location on Hull St. The long wait time (30mins.+) can be the same at both locations on a weekend and both are good, food wise, but it usually seems to be an older crowd at the Chester location. read more

I went to Glory Days Grill to watch football with friends. Glory Days has one huge projector television and a lot of smaller television throughout the sports bar. I ordered a couple of appetizers while I was watching football. I decided on the crab dip and the cheese fries with bacon. The crab dip was tasty for a sports bar but the portion was a bit small. The dip came with warm bread. The cheese fries with bacon was good. Glory Days Grill has a good beer selection. The service was good. The employees were nice. I sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive. For a sports bar, glory Days Grill has a family atmosphere. This Glory Days Grill didn't have the crazy sports fan atmosphere like most sports bars. Came here last night in a hangry stupor. The fiancé had a craving for wings, so to Glory Days we went. I'm glad that we decided to come here instead of good old Buffalo Wild Wings. Although Buffalo Wild Wing's mild sauce is a guilty pleasure of mine, it's nice to branch out every once in a while for all of your fat food needs. What instantly sets Glory Days apart from all the other late night wing spots is the service. Our server was excellent. She was pleasant, attentive, and conversational without being annoying. You can tell she was a happy-go-lucky person with a can-do attitude. I love being around people like that. I saw quite a few things on the menu that I would like to try in the future (next cheat day I swear I'm going for the chicken penne with vodka cream sauce), but I ended up with the grilled buffalo chicken salad. I was really surprised that a grilled version was available. I'm glad that I tried it because it was delicious! The chicken was perfectly cooked, the buffalo sauce was delicious, and the salad tasted fresh. I could have done without the celery, but it was still great. I can already tell that this is going to be a go-to spot for a sinful dinner! read more

When it first opened this place was hands down one of the coolest sports bars in Richmond. However it's slipped a little bit, still has TVs everywhere and can watch any game you want, but some of them are still the original box TVs that were there when they opened. Looks a little tacky with half of them newer. As for the food and service though--definitely do a good job. Always can get a delicious burger or sandwich with friendly and quick service for a good value. If you're going for a casual dinner or to see a game, it's a cool spot. Their two projectors definitely make it a big game destination. It'll be hard for them to keep it rolling with the current shopping center they're in continually nosediving, but a little facelift and they should be back to their glory days. read more

I'll echo a previous reviewer who stated to not go here for the food - it wasn't that good and there was a hair in my food, too. It wasn't a long, obvious hair either if you get my meaning. Nope. It was one of those moments where you recognize it immediately and need to hurl. The scariest part was that I found it laying on my tortilla chips.. which requires no prep work, really, so it's one of the least likely places you'd expect it to accidentally get there. I'm convinced at this point there's some questionable employee putting hair in people's food for kicks. The waitress was nice and quick. A little disappointed with the Sports Grill experience. NCAA conference tournament weekend and they only have one screen showing CBS Sports Network game. Granted, it was the MountainWest conference so probably not a lot of fans around here. Manager came to turn on a 2nd TV that we could see from our table, but returned 90 minutes later to switch to a different channel. With 2 minutes left in the game. Looks like they change tv stations on the hour not according to the game. So that's a bummer when we come specifically to watch a game. The food is mediocre, service is courteous but not prompt by any means. Which was acceptable as we anticipated enjoying a game. read more

This place is hidden from the hustle and bustle of short pump but has a pleasantly surprising good menu with tasty bar foods. I had a beer battered fish and chips plate that was so good I ate every crumb of it.... with a plate of fries on the side. I have a hard time criticizing places that are neighborhood legends, especially if they are falling on fairly difficult circumstances, like the anchor supermarket pulling out of their strip mall, but I have to say that this place has slipped a bit since its glory days in the early 2Ks. I know it's a sports bar, and a good one for that displaced Green Bay fan who hasn't ponied up the 300 dollars for the Sunday Ticket, but I used to really like the food. That has changed. First of all, if you are going to charge me 3.49 for an Arnold Palmer, it better have some alcohol in it next time. I mean, it's tea and lemonade, they should be paying ME to drink this stuff. But I digress. Last time, I wanted something a bit less greasy, so I ordered a grilled buffalo chicken sandwich, which, in the interest of full disclosure, did state it was a "blend" of white and dark meat. I should have known from that description that I wasn't going to get what I thought. I also thought that cheddar cheese AND blue cheese was overkill, but when it came out I realized why they made this thing overly cheesy...What came can be best described as a half-inch Jennie-O type chicken patty without the breading, tasteless, processed and not at ALL what I believe any restaurant worth its salt should be serving. Although disappointed, I ate most of it and didn't feel compelled to making a big stink about it. The server, and all of the staff, have always treated us well and have looked out for my son with allergies. The food being bleh this time is certainly not their fault. I will say, that for wings, this place still does a decent job and their blue cheese dressing (unless it changes between this writing and your visit) is worth the price of admission alone. I would suggest for a time to make it mostly wings or their still decent nachos if you desire them for the big game or for a hungry group. Their take out, to answer another reviewer, has always been spot on and itemized when ordered from me. Burgers and fries notwithstanding, I hope that for its own sake, this place returns to its Glory Days for food soon, for its own sake, and for the sake of the neighborhood that still seems to covet it. read more

Food is fine. Management is awful! Last time we ate at the restaurant, the waiter lost my credit card (after charging it, of course). His attitude was "I looked and couldn't find it, sorry..." And went on his way serving other customers. After looking myself for 15 minutes I had to track down the manager on my own. After confirming the bill had been paid, the manager's best suggestion was that we go on home and they'd call me IF they found it when they cleaned up that night. They called when I was half way home to say they found it in waiters apron pocket. Tonight we decided to try a carry out order. After being on hold for 9 minutes, 54 seconds and having three people pick up, ask why I was calling, and immediately put me back on hold, I hung up. Until we see an "under new management" sign out front, we will likely be giving Lazy Days a pass... read more

Rating this on the burgers and fries, because the nachos with chili were pretty forgettable. My mom is in assisted living near this Glory Days, so I took her there to shake things up from Olive Garden (I know, wild and crazy). Anyway, if you're trying to get an older, skinny person to eat and gain weight, take them to Glory Days for a cheeseburger and fries. My mom loved it! Ate half her food at the restaurant and took the rest home. I'll be damned if she didn't eat the other half just 30 minutes later when we were back at the facility. So thanks, Glory Days for the excellent cheeseburger and fries. read more

Absolutely love coming here to watch NFL games. Nice family atmosphere and you don't get the knuckleheads you see at BW3's or some other sports bars. Speakers at the tables are an awesome touch. In fact, the only trouble I ever saw was while watching a Sunday night game and some guy who kept calling himself Gorgeous George was escorted from the premises after walking around on his knees behind booths and walls and bathroom stalls. Evidently he misunderstood the Glory Days business name as something inappropriate. Management handled that very well and offered a free round of drinks for anyone that was disturbed. read more

Gotta love Glory Days, if you go right when they open it is pretty quiet, as for the other times of the day, can't guarantee it as it is a sports bar! They have TV's everywhere and a little speaker on the table that you can adjust to the channel of your choice! I've been going to Glory Days, probably since high school, maybe right after and the only thing that I have ever eaten because I love it so much is the steak and cheese! I use to get it plain with just cheese and light mayo but, now that I have started to like onions more I have added those in! To me, this is the best steak and cheese in town! I have a few friends that live in Texas and always love to go to Glory Days when they are home visiting! Trust me, if you get the steak and cheese, you won't be disappointed! read more

This is by far my favorite place I love the atmosphere the food and the service. We always sit at the bar and even though it can sometimes get crowded it's never overwhelming nor are we sitting for any amount of time for service. My nephew and his friend were visiting from out of town and we took them for dinner. They loved it and loved the food. No complaints from us at all. I would give you a ten star review if I could. We've been going to Glory days since we moved into the neighborhood in 2004. It's a nice local sports bar with a decent menu compared to many of their competitors. The burgers are good, the wings are good and they even have excellent fish tacos. What more can you ask for from a sports bar? One thing that I really appreciate is how they handle food allergies. My oldest son is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts and they have always done a great job of working with us. The servers know what menu items have nuts (one desert and a salad) and they always let the kitchen staff know about his allergy so they can change gloves, cutting broads etc. That goes a long way with me, and my son loves to eat there. read more

Ok, I typically hate surburbia and all things having to do with it and when my boyfriend presented the idea of a sports bar for drinking and dinner, I cringed. I typically loathe going to sports bars for dinners based on previous experiences, but it was his turn to pick, so I went. He told me we had to order the cheese fries and while I love me some cheese fries, I think I may have found the holy grail cheese fries. They are perfection and they are perfection every time. We usually split a half order and then get a salad. I love, love, love their buffalo chicky salad sans dressing. It seems to be perfect for families and is always loud. We normally sit at the bar since it is quiet. So long story short, if you HAVE to eat at a sports bar in suburbia, this is your spot, you will not be disappointed. read more

Outside and in the restrooms you'll hear something different--old radio broadcasts from a by-gone era when radio was king...interestingly different. Plenty of TVs for games. There were plenty of tables and a nice bar. The tables are more for the families I guess and there were plenty of kids around...some literally running right by the servers station so they could hit the game room. But, the bar was for adults thankfully. Food was good. I had the fried fish with broccoli and cole slaw. Everything was better than I expected. Only 8 taps but within the 8 was a decent enough selection to keep beer lovers satisfied. Happy hour specials were fair enough. The 22 oz beer for $5 was nice and cold. Service was good, prompt and friendly...of course it was a Wednesday. Busy times might be different. We were greeted at the front door by the hostess right away. Prices were average I suppose. You can get a burger for $8 which is slightly below the norm but other items were a little pricier. Menu selection seemed more varied than the average sports bar. Ambience was typical sports bar. Obviously it's a Redskins bar. It can handle the noise. I was surprised to see upon leaving the bar that the place had filled up almost to capacity but you wouldn't know it because the ceiling had acoustic tiles and the floors were wood I think. The walls being decorated with memorabilia were not creating the echo box effect. All in all 4 stars and we will definitely be back. read more

This place is getting ridiculous. Food is fair 10.95 for a Chicken Cheese Philly is okay, a .99 cents up charge for peppers and onions ON A PHILLY! Is not okay, worse is the waiter asked if I wanted peppers and onions and I said with everything, no mention of an up charge. Also, charged 6.79 for a shot of Bailey's AND 2.59 for the coffee. Come on, this is not Short Pump people... I will not go back. It used to be a decent place, gotten too West End uppitty for me. Coming from the Pittsburgh area it is a real delight to see a facsimile of the famed Primanti Brothers sandwiches with pastrami, cole slaw, and fries all jammed together in a sandwich from heaven. While Glory Days' version of this sandwich pales in comparison to the original, it was a nice trip down nostalgia lane and a decent enough sandwich. The atmosphere is great if you're into sports and large crowds of people drinking cold pints of beer (I am). They boast a large selection of your normal pub fare on top of a few unique items. The service is alright. A lot of teenagers work here so you can expect how that works--nothing to write home about. I will definitely be returning. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in the area to take the family. The staff is quick and friendly and management has always been great about any infrequent mistakes we've experienced. The burgers and wings are top notch as is most of the menu, and there are plenty of options for the kids to choose from. There is 1 projector on each side of the restaurant and a couple dozen HD TV's plus a decent arcade room which provides no shortage of entertainment. I've ventured to the Hull St location a couple of times and while the crowd seems to be a bit older, the overall experience is comparatively subpar with slower service and far less consistent food quality. Still a decent time out but if given the choice I'd definitely recommend this one. read more

The service is usually great at this location, and the food is as good as expected. However, the reason why we came to Glory Days was for the fried pickles, which were out of this world! They don't carry them anymore. We were shocked to discover this but didn't walk out (as our waitress said another customer did). I'm sad to say we probably won't be back. read more
