Let me start by sating the food and service at Longhorn are superb. This review is about the strange way the "recommended tips" are calculated. Our dinner bill the other night was $65.89, so a 20% tip would be roughly $13 ($13.18 to be exact). But when the check came, the recommended 20% tip was $15.54. That's 23.6% ($2.36 too high). I thought maybe Longhorn deducts a 3.5% credit card charge from the waitstaff's tips, but 3.5% of $15.54 is only $0.54, still leaving $1.82 too much. The same numbers held true for the 18% and 22% suggested tip ($2.12 and $2.89 too much). My sister took me out for dinner at the Longhorn Steakhouse. The service was excellent from the host with the beautiful nails to our waitress who was gracious and friendly. We started with the wings, which are probably the best wings I ever had from the crispness of the skin and very well seasoned. While being tender and juicy inside with both Buffalo sauce and blue cheese, it was added to the wings perfectly. The chop steak was good, and the flavors were definitely their, I probably should have had that medium well. Asparagus was well cooked and tender. In addition to the warm whole wheat, bread, soft and warm. The Mac n cheese was good. It could have been a little more creamy and less dry for my preference. The girls took me out for a birthday lunch. I ordered a medium rare bacon cheeseburger when I received it. It was very very overcook. Since everybody was pretty much done eating, I took my new burger Home. When I went to go eat it, they forgot the bacon. Of course that's one of the best parts of a bacon cheeseburger. They stopped serving the most popular lettuce for a salad (iceberg) and now stopped having the ONLY diabetic approved sweetener (Splenda). This proves they do not care about their customers and shows why their numbers are continuously dropping. A nice change of pace from our 'usual' hangouts. It's a bit of a drive in the ever-increasing traffic so we don't get to 'this side of town' that often. Arriving at dinner-thirty on a Saturday night, we expected and were met with a busy restaurant. We did take advantage of the Call Ahead Seating, however. Once we arrived, we sat at the adult libations center (the bar) to wait our turn. There, we got a drink and a Texas Tonion appetizer. We really liked that app, it was hot, fresh and easy to eat as the onion petals are already separated for you. No tugging and tearing at an ornery onion! Timing was perfect. As we were wrapping up our app, we got called for a table. Nice! My Fav Fab One ordered the 8-ounce Renegade Top Sirloin, med rare, along with broccoli and a side salad. This wasn't her first rodeo, so she knew what to expect, and it delivered. I got the Baby Back Ribs, first time ever at Longhorn. I usually get a steak, of course. After much consideration, I chose to get the full rack of ribs. I will say that was way too much food! I took half a rack home for next day's lunch. With a loaded baked potato and a salad, I had plenty of good grub to go gaga over. The ribs were 'fall-off-the-bone' tender and slathered with a sweet sauce that enriched the fire-grilled flavor. Two saucy thumbs up! Our server made sure this visit was memorable. Mister Daniel M! Dan took care of every question, query and whim wonderfully. We really appreciate exemplary service, especially in today's hit or miss world of dining. Dan is the Man! (Yes, I said that!) I will say my ONLY issue is the noise level within the restaurant. My husband and I ordered your 35 and 27 dollar steak. We asked for very little seasoning and medium rare. What we got was 2 raw steaks that were very salty from the seasoning. I sent mine back because I could hardly cut it. My husband, who is a chef, fought through the cutting of his raw steak. I also asked for asparagus. The asparagus was so tough.. it was barely cooked! We spent 100 dollars and the only part of the meal I enjoyed was the baked potato and lemonade! I do not usually complain, but it is very rare we go out any more because of the bad economy So when WE go out and spend 100 dollars, including a tip, you better believe we want our food to be good! My initial experience was great. I was greeted upon arrival from the host with a smile, and seated immediately. It took about 5-10 minutes to see the server to get my drinks, and she seemed less than thrilled to be working. I ordered water, and my daughter ordered Pibb. Since it took awhile, we already had our order in mind, and the server said she'll grab our drinks first and then we can place the order. When she eventually came back with the drinks, she had to tend to another table before taking our orders. Now I'm getting frustrated because by now we've been there about 20 minutes or so. Thankfully I wasn't pressed for time or on a lunch break or something. My daughter and I sat for awhile with our cups empty, and another server came and asked what we were drinking. I happened to glance over my right shoulder and saw our server tending to another table and she was looking at me and smiled. I think she possibly saw me pulling up my Yelp to make a review and she changed her entire personality. Strange how this works sometimes. We finally placed our orders, and I got the Santa Fe Chicken and it was SO good and flavorful. It was a rather large portion of chicken, but it was so tender, I could cut it with my fork. I was pleased with the meal overall. My daughter ordered the 6oz Sirloin and Mac and cheese. She didn't like the mac and cheese because it came with breadcrumbs that became crunchy while baking. It had nothing to do with how it was prepared, but rather her own personal preference. She devoured the steak and said it was good. There were six (6) of us that visited this location, yesterday 1/20/26, and two (2) of the six (6) were family that was from out-of-town and who we had not seen in over one (1) year and, to say the least, we were extremely disappointed in the food and service. First of all, they put all six (6) of us at a table that was meant for four (4) so we were elbow to elbow; they should have put two (2) tables together to accommodate six (6) people and not put us at a table that is meant for four (4) customers: Second: our waitress, Brie (I'm not sure about the spelling of her name) made us feel like she was rushing us and the restaurant was only 3/4 empty as it was 2:00 in the afternoon; Third: One of us had the most expensive cut of steak and it was like shoe leather and full of grizzle....NO WONDER THEY SEASON THEIR STEAKS WITH SEVERAL SEASONINGS. To say that we had a good experience, we definitely did not. The service was terrible and the food was not up to par for a steakhouse. We went to Longhorn Steak house for our anniversary. As with the other restaurants that we were able to dine in during the epidemic, Longhorn had precautions in place. Hand sanitizer by hostess desk and six foot dining rule in place. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic and answered questions we had about the menu items with patience and knowledge. Our appetizer was onion petals. They reminded us of a deconstructed blooming onion. In fact- we like this presentation much better for two reasons. First reason was they were not greasy like the last couple of blooming onions we purchased and two because you're really not getting your hands as dirty by pulling the onion apart. The dipping sauce was zesty and delicious. Plentiful to dip your onion petals in. The portion was ample enough for us both. We both ordered the steakhouse salads with bleu cheese dressing. Typical side salads but ingredients were fresh and dressing was tasty. Nothing new to shout out about but good nonetheless. We both decided on the same entree a six ounce sirloin steak with eight grilled redrock shrimp. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare as we like it but it was the redrock shrimp that was the star of the dish! Big, succulent garlicky and buttery they were sensational! Placed atop a pile of rice pilaf and a side of steamed broccoli rounded out the platter- so much food at a reasonable price for the quality! I joined their club and received a coupon for a free dessert and since it was our Anniversary we decided to indulge! We both agreed upon the Strawberries and Cream shortcake and it was the perfect ending to our meal! Fruity and creamy layers were scrumptious! BUT low and BEHOLD!!! Our waiter treated us to a SECOND dessert a complimentary Chocolate Sundae with whipped cream topping and drizzled with chocolate syrup! A spectacular ending for our Anniversary dinner !! The food starting with the appetizer (onion tonions) were to the table quickly and were delicious, my friend and I both ordered the parmesan encrusted chicken and rib combo, and it didn't disappoint.
