My friends and I went to Glory Days in Winter Haven this past Wednesday, March 27, 2024. We arrived at approximately 1145am. The restaurant was not crowded. My friends and I all ordered the Swiss, mushroom onion burger with fries. The burgers were burnt and had a propane gas flavor to them. The burgers were also very dry including the bun, mushroom, and cheese as if they had sat under a heat lamp for many minutes. (I don't think there was any onions on the burger; I certainly didn't see or taste any) Honestly the worst tasting burger I have ever had. I only ate a few bites and started getting an upset stomach. My friend and I were traveling on Cypress Gardens Blvd. when we decided to try Glory Days Grill. Neither of us had been to the Glory Days grill before. We found parking right in front. We walked in and were immediately seated by a friendly hostess. I immediately went to the men's restroom. I began to panic when the first three doors all were marked women. I then seen the fourth door marked men. I had never seen separate bathroom for the same gender before. It is a nice touch. In effect you can have a private bathroom. The men's bathroom was clean, well lit, it had an old style full length urinal and a toilet. Very nice. I then washed my hands. No water. I had already soaped up. The sensor on the base of the sink appeared to non functioning. I finally got the water on after waving my soapy hands back and forth. When the water did come on it only was a trickle. What a pain. I returned to the table and the waitress, Brianna was there almost immediately. I ordered the fish fry and an appetizer of beef nachos. The waitress told me they had chicken or pork nachos. I knew that was going to suck. However my friend and I were very hungry and he wanted to try it so I agree to try them. The waitress quickly returned with the Nachos. I wish i had taken photos. The nachos looked like vegetarian fare. Not a bit of meat in sight on top of the nachos. I tried a few naked nacho chips because the top was almost bare. I finally got some toppings on my nachos and it sucked just like i thought it would. My friend wanted the nachos and tore into them. I felt vindicated when he pushed it away after several moments. The waitress returned and I told her the nachos sucked. My friend just smiled but I told him to be honest and tell the waitress about the nachos. He said they were a little off. The waitress offered me an alternative of broccoli. She quickly returned with it. The broccoli did not taste bad but it had a strange taste. Not bad, but different. I think it was steamed but I am not sure. Another waitress bought our main dishes to the table. As I said I ordered the fish fry. My coleslaw was good. The fries were okay as was the fish. I asked our original waitress brianna for some tarter sauce. She apologized for it not being on my plate and immediately returned with a plastic cup of sauce, not tarter sauce. I had plunged a piece of my fish in the sauce expecting tartar sauce. It was not tarter sauce. I made my friend dip his finger and taste the not tarter sauce. He agreed it was not tarter sauce. I called the waitress over. I had already complained about the nachos and I told her I did want to be a problem but the sauce she bought me was not tarter sauce. The waitress told me it was lemon basil tartar sauce. Another employee later told me it was made in house. No matter were it was made it was not tarter sauce and it sucked. I did not use another drop. My friend ordered the pork sandwich and beans. He dont like drama and does not like to complain. I asked why he ate less that half of the sandwich and barely touched his beans. He said the seasoning was off. I told him I was going to tell the waitress and he went outside. When the waitress came back I paid the bill and told her that I had stuck a knife in the ketchup bottle. When I tried to squeeze the bottler it would not dispense ketchup. I checked and the factory seal was in place. I told whatever germs I may have had were now in the ketchup bottle because I had to remove the seal my self instead of simply squeezing the bottle. Our waitress was very good. I felt bad complaining but the glory days grill experience turned into a doggie bag bonanza. Speaking for myself my glory days are long gone and unlike MacArthur I shall not return. And I will not email management. read more

Went to Glory Days in Winter Haven FL on 3/15/24 for a rib dinner. What they served me was an over seasoned burnt mess. My wife had he fish which was good. We both enjoyed the margaritas. read more

Service took forever!!!! Half hour at least for a beverage!! Food order was over half an hour!!! And we took a couple who had never been before, telling them how good it was! What a disappointment. Our server, even though I don't know her name, was good. She kept apologizing for the delay, but when you're hungry and thirsty apologies don't really help. It seems to me that if the restaurant is understaffed, maybe it shouldn't open? Or just allow enough seating for the amount of staff. Food and service has been excellent the past 5 times I have been there. During busy hours and slow time.

We are visiting from out of town, and after a long day at Legoland, we wanted a nice, calm sit down dinner. Tara was an excellent server! She was great with our group of tired kiddos, and she did an excellent job engaging with them and explaining the menu and specials to us. The food was great! My young boys were thrilled with the boneless wings on the kids menu, and our adult food was excellent. The kids' "shark attack" drinks were so cute and creative! I've never seen anything like it, and it was worth the little bit of extra money! We definitely recommend it!!! read more

Mom ordered a grilled chicken and fries cruspy and I ordered buffalo chicken and crispy fries. the sandwiches were great. We asked for crispy fries they were not crispy at all the bartender went back and told them they brought us more fries out. They were just like the first ones they were hot I guess I thought we wanted our fries hot no, we wanted them crispy, the drinks weren't that great the bartender wasn't that friendly, so we just got to go box and brought the rest of food home for our dogs we had chips and salsa they were awful. This is our first visit to Glory Days Grill. Terrific food and great service. We sat at the bar and were impressed with the delightful service we received by the efficient female bartenders! We ordered the following: dry-rubbed chicken wings drizzled with honey-garlic sauce; we shared a short-rib, grilled cheese sandwich with carmelized onions & havarti cheese, served on country style bread along with seasoned fries; for desert, we had the bourbon butter cake which is topped with bourbon caramel saue, pecans & ice cream...so good! When this restaurant first opened i never seen a place more packed. Food was great service was great etc. However after a few weeks the quality of food and service completely fell off a cliff to the point where i received some of the worst service i have ever seen. After actually complaining i was reached out by new management. They replaced a majority of their staff and their new Manager "MT" told us to come in and he will make it up to us. Ever since i have come back and Glory days has seen a return to form. Food has been great (especially the wings!) and service has been fast and attentive. My waiter had a 14 top and two other tables and was always looking out for us with great and fast service. Truly shows what great management can do for a restaurant. My hubby and I were excited to try the new location in Winter Haven, unfortunately had a horrible experience, hostess ignore us when we were trying to get her attention. The waitress was very nice, I order wings and my husband order the Philly cheese with fries and coleslaw . My wings were salty and tough. I was on my way to another restaurant but decided to give it a try, I ordered a house salad, sweet tea, and an 8 oz sirloin with jasmine rice. The house salad was so-so, the Sirloin was supposed to be medium-well but looked well-done (and charred, coal-like), and the jasmine rice was clumped (I love Jazmine rice as I like well-separated grains) this felt like the ones you get at a Chinese buffet. At no point, I was offered a refill of my tea. The price was acceptable ($27 including tip) but I don't think I will return there. Maybe I might try a different location sometime in the distant future. read more

Hamburger was greasy, too well done and the lettuce and tomato were insufficient and greasy. The fries had to be sent back. We were there at 3 pm and I think the fries were leftover from lunch. Won't go back. read more

First time four part of seven. If I go back, it will be a while. Two out of seven were served. When the rest came, one of the two asked for a "go" box. The food was salty and over cooked except a person who ordered med. well steak received med. rare. Others had cold food that butter could not melt on veggies. Two hour there and mostly waiting. First time coming to this restaurant. It's a sports bar vibe with all day happy hour. Drinks were huge and delicious. 1 margarita $6 and that got me right so nothing else was needed. Now my friend girl on the other hand had hair in what was suppose to be the best dish on the menu. Chicken and waffles from what I hear it's very delicious, it smells great but i was too stuffed to try it. Took forever for the supervisor to acknowledge the mistake however when he did he replaced the food and comped the meal. read more

Service was good. Food was not. Of the 4 dishes, 1 was very tasty, 2 were fine (nothing to write home about but were good) and the last was extremely salty. Unfortunately, that dish caused a lot of stomach distress, including vomiting several hours after eating (it was the only thing eaten so I know it wasn't anything else). Called manager to let them know they may just want to be aware and was advised their food is very seasoned and the garlic was the taste I was getting. I eat garlic cloves raw without a problem and salty does not equal seasoned. I just wanted someone to be aware that after eating the dish there was a pretty severe stomach issue including vomiting. The manager's immediate response was that food poisoning would not occur for 24-48 hours, which according to my own doctor (I have had food poisoning in the past), as well as John Hopkins (early as 30 minutes), News in Health (within 1 hour depending on strain causing) Mayo Clinic (within a few hours), Mount Sinai (2-6 hours) etc... is incorrect. Whether it was food poisoning or not is actually irrelevant in my opinion as I was not accusing them of it and didn't even bring it up. I actually wanted nothing from them outside to let them know they may want to check the sauce for the dish, but the disregard also has sealed that I will never eat here again. I have generally liked Glory Days in the past, but there are plenty of other restaurants in the area in fact and plenty with similar food options if that was what I was looking for. read more

Went to Glory Days Grill yesterday after reading reviews on line which I don't agree with. Had the ribs which were so hard could not eat them. Husband had their burger which had double beef and cheese. Beef had no flavor at all. Would not recommend as was not worth money it cost. read more

Everything is an up charge! Every single dish has an up charge - refills for certain drinks switching French fries to sweet potatoes change has an up charge. Ordered the nacho - the chicken and the pork shredded was absent!! Management should take a look at all this up charges - other places serve bigger serving and better prices !! read more

We've been there 3-4 times and pleased with every order. Staff is friendly, lots of tables, a decent bar and lots of TV'S. Recently had dry-rubbed wings, they were good, perfectly cooked, juicy but not bloody. Sister had a burger, she's picky, and she liked it. So far the food is consistent. Recommended. read more

I am writing regarding a dining experience at Glory Days Grill at 6005 Cypress Gardens Blvd in Winter Haven, FL. Across from Lego Land. This took place on Sunday, March 5 beginning at around 5:55 PM. My wife and I decided to try this recently opened location not far from our home. When we arrived just before 6 PM we saw customers sitting and waiting outside so I went in to see how long the wait would be. The place was over half empty, but I was told it would be 15 - 20 minutes before we could be seated. So I gave them my name and phone number and went to get my wife who had waited in the car. We sat and waited at the hostess' counter as Bruce Springsteen's "Glory Days" blasted over the speakers. I asked the hostess, 'That doesn't play constantly does it?' and she replied 'I couldn't work here if it did. It just plays at Noon and 6.' Noting that the place was clearly mostly empty and not particularly busy we guessed that there must be a problem with staffing or something. Eventually after about 15 minutes we received a text that our table was ready (mind you we are three feet away) and we were seated at a booth that had been empty, cleaned and ready for occupancy since before we arrived. We ordered the Sunday Rib Eye special for $15 which was a no-brainer since even a simple cheeseburger was nearly that much. About ten minutes later the waitress returned to inform us that the Rib Eyes were sold out. Six PM and the advertised Sunday dinner special is 86-ed off the menu?? Strike one. The waitress returned our menus so that we could make new selections. As we were still trying to realign, adjust and find something else we would like (at the previously mentioned somewhat steep prices) the waitress returned and began to try to be "helpful" in finding us something we would like. It appeared she was going to stand there until we decided, zooming well past helpful and approaching pushy. I was about to just leave when my wife said something about it taking some time to readjust when we had already set ourselves on something else. So the server took the hint and walked away finally and left us to decide. Not quite a strike, but a close call. Finally we just settled for some burgers. My wife ordered her cheese burger to be cooked medium well and requested a loaded baked potato instead of the included fries, for a $2 upcharge of course. I ordered the Mushroom, Onion, Swiss burger medium rare. After what seemed like a long time for cheeseburgers our order finally arrived. A server other than the one who took our order brought the food to our table, practically threw it onto the table and dashed off. We both normally put mustard on our burgers and most restaurants put in on the table but not Glory Days Grill and the server had dashed off before we could ask for it. So I start looking around for a server...any server...and my wife notices that she has been served loaded mashed potatoes...not a loaded baked potato as she had ordered. Meanwhile I absent mindedly picked up a French fry to eat and discovered that my fries were stone cold. Strike two. Finally we flag down our server. She comes over and apparently is already aware of the substitution so it was not a mistake. Before my wife could say anything she says 'you ordered a baked potato and got mashed potatoes. We're out of the baked potatoes.' So she already knew that a substitution was made to my wife's order. An unapproved substitution that we were going to be upcharged for to boot. The server should have come to us and told us before simply making a substitution. My wife grudgingly agreed to take the mashed potatoes and I asked that the upcharge be removed to which the server agreed. We informed her of the cold fries and asked for mustard and she went off to the kitchen to get me some 'warm fries' (Hot fries would be better was my wife's observation) and some mustard. Once we had our mustard and my fries my wife put the mustard on her burger, cut in half to make it easier to handle/eat and discovered that her medium-well cheeseburger was red and raw in the middle. Strike three. We flagged down our server one more time, told her about the badly under-cooked burger and before she could offer yet another corrective action I told her simply 'We give up.' She said of course and we walked out. Over an hour after we had arrived. Unfed. Unhappy. Never to return. This was an absolutely appalling experience. I don't even know if the food was any good. We never actually got a complete, correct set of meals in front of us after multiple tries. And the problems were across the board. Not just one person who did poorly. Everything. From the special being strangely unavailable at the start of the dinner hour, to being unable to manage a half-full dining room efficiently, to unapproved substitutions and improperly cooked food. The only good thing I can say is it appeared to be clean. That alone doesn't cut it. read more

I went to Glory Days in Winter Haven on October 23, 2022, we walked in a little before 10 PM (an hour or so before closing) and waited at the front door to be seated. We had multiple employees walk past us before we were acknowledged, after we were seated in the center of the restaurant we waited almost 20 minutes for someone to come over and ask if we'd been served yet when we said no he asked if we sat ourselves, which we told him we did not, to which he replied "well, whoever seated you didn't tell anyone." Fine. But, again we were right in the center of the restaurant and multiple employees and the manager walked by us. Our menus were down on the table, we had no drinks, and we were just watching everyone walk past us. It's probably important to note that the restaurant was nearly empty maybe only 3 other tables had customers at this point. There was a waitress cleaning the floor and tables right next to us both while we waited to be seated and this continued while we were waiting. She looked over at us multiple times, I understand it wasn't her section but she could have acknowledged us or tried to get someone over to us. Finally we were greeted by Lexi. I want to make it extremely clear that she was the only good thing about this experience. She was apologetic and did not know she had a table (she was not one of the waitresses cleaning up around our area). She took our order. We ordered an appetizer of the Wannabe Shrimp, I've been here a few times since the restaurant opened a few months ago, and it's truly one of my favorite things. The shrimp still had the tails on them, which I couldn't tell just by looking at them because of the breading on them, I found out about the tail after I tried to eat one. I've never had that appetizer served to me like that from both the Winter Haven location and Lakeland, and if not knowing tails were there until it was already in my mouth wasn't bad enough, the shrimp was also ice cold and did not taste right, I'm not sure if it was sitting out for a while from a previous table and they drizzled more sauce on top or what. But At this point we put the shrimp at the end of the table because we obviously weren't going to eat it. The manager walked by our table twice. Looked right as us, seeing a plate of food that is pushed to the end of the table and did not care to greet us, or anything. He was too busy trying to watch the football game that was on, priorities, I guess. Anyway our meals come out, and all but one of the items we ordered all had to be sent back. All cold and just awful. Obviously our waitress was aware of this issue at this point and she was more than willing to ask the manager take the meals off, which is absolutely appreciated. But something about the way the manager just stood at the other side of the restaurant watching football not really caring about what's going on right behind him really rubbed us the wrong way, so my sister went back inside after we had left and paid for our check because she wanted to not only let him know how unbelievably bad this whole experience was but also wanted to make sure that he knew Lexi was not to blame. When she went in to speak to him he was again, watching football and even my sister walked up he very casually said "oh sorry about the food" and tried to make himself out to be the hero for not charging us for the things we sent back. He never greeted us or tried to apologize to us while we were actually sitting in the restaurant and sending items back he stayed in the back watching the game and occasionally circling the restaurant without acknowledging anyone. He was not professional, he cut my sister off when she tried to speak, just saying things like "yeah I didn't wanna make you pay for it if you didn't like it" and saying "hopefully if you come back it'll be better" just trying to say what she wanted to hear to get her to leave. This restaurant is still so new. And we had such positive experiences over the summer both with the food and the staff, but this was by far the worst experience we have had in any restaurant. read more

Directly across the street from LEGOLAND yet NOT family friendly. If you're looking for a bar, disguised as a restaurant, across the street from a young kids theme park, where you can hear drunk men yelling MF, GD, SOB, phrases by being served far beyond their tolerance, this restaurant is for you. It's certainly not for me. We entered at 730pm on a Sunday night, only five tables present. Six patrons at the Bar. It took 1 hr and 15 minutes for the three of us to get 8 chicken wings, two salads, and some chicken nuggets for our 8 yr old. Initially we were given no silverware, they brought the wrong drinks to us (non alcoholic), and during our wait they continued to serve the drunk guy at the Bar far in excess of his abilities to handle the booz. We informed the manager, he said he'd talk to the employee and handle the problem. He advised the waiteress didn't turn in our order until we had been there nearly an hour; he knew as he was tonight's cook. The food wasn't bad but it's not winning any awards either. The service and ambiance - not what I'd expect in walking distance of pepa pig and LEGOLAND children's parks. Imho, avoid this place if you have children present, or like good service, or don't like waiting more than an hour for 8 wings, two salads, and chicken tenders. The ambiance was more in line with a dive bar than a family restaurant. I love most glory days restaurants, but won't go back to this one. Perhaps I'll try the one in Lakeland instead of this one. If I were the owner, I'd be looking for more professional staff, and I'd train my employees On the Dram Shop theory in Florida. Imho read more
