If I could give 10 stars I would! I have been to many other Chicago salons, including in the loop, where I live. I still travel back to Gloss every two weeks so I can get a pedi & gel fill. I LOVE Gloss they have the cleanest salon I have ever been to. The staff is also completely amazing. They are very nice & talented. I have been going to Gloss Nail Salon since it opened, and I am a VERY loyal customer. Basha does great no chip mani's, and she is very proficient with the waxing. Plus, you won't find a cleaner salon in the area, hands down! (Pun intended, of course) .....Gloss is slighty more pricey than your typical neighborhood nail shops, (especially of the Asian persuasion) but you pay for quality, and cleanliness! Very close knit group of gals working in there, and like "Cheers", everybody knows your name! Basha is the fastest waxer in Chicago! I have been to other places that take 30-40 minutes for a Brazilian, but Basha gets you in and out in less than 10. It is very no-frills and filled with women who live in the area. I'm notorious for calling same day for my waxing services and she is very good about squeezing me in. Unfortunately I've moved out of the neighborhood so I'm not as close anymore, but I do still try to schedule a wax with her when I can! read more

I went in for a simple polish change b/c I was running a little early for the airport. They have a nice variety of color choices, but I'd say that's the only good thing that's going on here. My polish change was nice and quick, which is good too, but the lady doing my nails (who I think is the owner?) didn't say one word to me. I don't need to sit there and talk the whole time, but maybe a simple "how's your day" or something like that would have been nice. There are only 3 pedi chairs and 3 spots to get a mani. It's definitely a place you need to make an appointment at b/c there were only 2 people working during the day. The worst part.....the dryers!!! I sat there for close to 20 min with hot air blowing on my nails. A regular fan would have worked better! And they still weren't fully dry when I left! At other places I sit there for 5 minutes and they're perfectly dry! Unfortunately I won't go back again b/c of the dryers. 2 stars for the colors choices...that's it. read more

Very clean, just very poor customer service. I went with two of my daughters, 1 very satisfied with gel nails. I on the other hand literally got up and left through halfway through my pedicure, right who does that......ll. well I asked if she would cut my nail at the corner and she hurt me so bad, tears in my eyes. Then she replied I get paid to file and paint nails, go to a Dr. if your nail hurts. Really.... Since she was to do my other daughter I decided no way. The owner Barbara is wonderful, but unfortunately poor trained staff made my decision to never go there again. The rude comments the girl made to me after I said that was enough were not even corrected by the owner. Guess what it's. all about word of mouth, just thought I should share my terrible experience. I literally just walked into this place and asked if I could get a fill in. THEY DIDNT ANSWER they just stood there staring at me like I was a DISEASE. After a minute they told me they only go by appointments and to take a card. They could have kindly told me that right when I asked for my fill in, no but instead they decided to stare at me and made me feel so uncomfortable as if I didn't belong there! Been here a few times for Brazilian waxing and not sure what the lady's name is I believe she is the owner is the one who does them. She is super nice and makes you feel very comfortable during an awkward procedure. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because she does rush a bit since they are always so busy and I have left with more than a few stray hairs. I still recommend, but would suggest that if you are unhappy or unsatisfied with something to just let them know. They are friendly to the point where I think they will fix what you feel is necessary. read more

Last Wednesday had extensions and my nails dipped, which is suppose to last 3-4 weeks. They looked ok when I left there, but not great. 3 days later- 2 popped off. I was out of town, and stopped at Walgreens and bought some glue and glued them back on. The day after, 2 more popped off. So 4 popped off within just a few days. Unfortunately due to my work schedule, I was unable to return here to get them fixed and went to another salon. Thank god I did go to another salon because they did them correctly and they look amazing. They do not know how to do dipped nails and will not be returning here again! read more

Wonderful customer service, very clean shop. I got one of THE best pedicures ever from Basha. I would definitely recommend. You must/should make an appointment. This isn't really a walk-in type of place. They have late hours during the week, which is helpful. Pedicure was $35. read more

On Thursday I visited gloss nail spa to get a gel overlay on my nails for the first time ever. My experience with Justyna was terrific. She has a wonderful personality, she's funny and patient. I was a bit nervous when she pulled out the electric file, but she calmed my fears and did a very beautiful job on my nails. She tried to encourage me to go outside my comfort zone with the nail design, but I declined the offer. Only to find out later that day from my husband, that I should have done what she suggested. He said it would have looked extra pretty. I will definitely be going back to gloss, just as my daughter does. We love it here. Thank you Justyna and Basha! read more

What a wonderful salon!! My Boyfriend and I went to get Manicures/Pedicures after reading the reviews on Yelp. We were greeted and made to feel welcomed when you entered the salon. We were not able to get in that day, but they set up appointments for us the next day. We were the first clint's of the day and received their undivided attention. As other clients arrived they receive the same great attention. The decor is cute. The salon is very clean and organized!! The staff was very kind and talented. I was given 3 different looks as if they were deciding whether or not to take my business. I just got my pedicure and no-chip manicure. Price was good, and pedicure was fine except for the amount of dead skin still on my feet. I get a pedicure about every 5 -6 weeks, and my feet just don't feel like they had any pampering. My no-chip manicure has left me with dead, dry cuticles that are still sitting there and the polish isn't even close to them. I'm sure in a week they will have plain nail showing through. Business is clean, but not much else. OPI products are featured which is a plus. I went here because of the rave reviews. I will try another place next month. They could probably use another person to work there since 2 seems to stretch their abilities to work and answer the phone or speak with clients. read more

I went last weekend for the first and last time. Just moved back to the area from VA and didn't realize my expectations for removing no-chip gel were unrealistic. I do NOT want my fingers sitting in a bowl of acetone. I was informed the owner made the decision to dip in acetone, rather than wrap each finger. I don't want to give a horrible review because the other clients seemed VERY happy and had great relationships with the staff. The salon appeared very clean and my mani was very well done. I do not want my fingers sitting in acetone OR charged an additional fee for removing the gel. (That should be part of the manicure!!) I hope everyone else enjoys their experience. read more
