My first time at Highland Nails was lovely! The staff is super friendly and did a PERFECT, meticulous job with my SNS manicure. So many regulars were coming in and it was a good sign that I was in the right place. Very impressed!

Spending hours in a salon was a waste of time from my perspective. This is why, I never went to a salon for my nails done. My mother encouraged me to visit a nail salon for my "wedding" nails. So, I went to Highland Nails. They nailed it! It is an excellent service. The nails are done beautifully. I received a lot of compliments at the weeding. The lady who did my nails is so nice. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely go back there. I don't think anymore that spending time in a nail salon is a waste of time.

Classic Mani Pedi

AMAZING service. Walked in with no appt around 2PM on a Friday afternoon and was seen immediately. This business is doing an amazing job keeping up with CDC guidelines (requires masks at all times, asks customers to wash hands upon arrival, workers wearing face fields+masks, sanitizing equipment after every use). Inside looks beautiful and clean. My sister and I got a classic mani pedi ($35 for no gel) and let me tell you, this place is more like a spa than a salon. We got foot and hand/arm massages which felt heavenly!! I had an older lady and she was super nice and really good at massaging, and quick but clean with her nail painting technique! This isn't my usual nail spot but it might be soon! Staff is super friendly, nails look amazing, & in clean and convenient location. 10/10 would recommend.

Awesome first time experience! They were accommodating & so kind! Plenty of safety/cleanliness precautions. T was a great nail tech & made me feel comfortable! My new nail salon in Atlanta/Virginia Highlands.

Highland Nails is classier than many comparable salons. Instead of TVs with blaring talk shows, they play radio that is easily talked over. This salon is not big, but I have never had to wait for a manicure. I would recommend calling ahead if you are headed over on the weekends just since they do get quite busy. The entrance is quite hard to find if you don't know where to look. Park in the lot behind El Taco and DBA BBQ. You enter the salon from the lot (not from North Highland). It is nestled between DBA and Mali. Lee is my favorite manicurist. She is super friendly and does an immaculate job. I have visited this salon many times and have had one or two issues. When I did have a problem (a gel manicure not lasting as long as it should) I came back to the salon and they re-did it for free. Gel manicures here are $29 - comparable to other spots in the area.

3.5 stars. I'm looking at the gel manicure I had done yesterday and so far I'm pretty pleased with it. I went at 10am yesterday, it was totally empty but me, and I received prompt service. So prompt in fact that when I finished paying I was shooed out of the store because it seems like the two ladies running the business had somewhere to go. Though I thought this was slightly odd, I'm ok with it as long as my manicure lasts. $29 for gel, no shellac- just OPI and Essie gel.

Best around the Morningside Virginia Highlands area. Clean, with attentive staff. I think best to make an appointment.

Great selection of colors, manicure and paint job! I wish I could remember the manicurist's name. I will post next time!

Found them on Google, called ahead, and was told to come in at 3 for SNS. I arrived at 3:10 on a Sunday to a nearly empty salon, which was surprising for a weekend. The front desk lady asked what I wanted and called across the salon to a young man who was working on nail decals solo. He visibly did not want to stop what he was doing. With only two people in the shop, someone had to help me, and that fell on him. While he finished up, the front desk lady was actually sweet about the service. She brought over colors and even suggested a fun option: a clear SNS base with gel polish on top for a jelly color effect. I loved the idea and agreed. When he was ready, he held his hands out without a word and got to work. No greeting, no conversation. He soaked my nails in what I can only describe as boiling water before filing everything off, which was genuinely painful. When I mentioned the jelly color technique the lady suggested, he said it wasn't possible, started doing my nails anyway, and never explained further. The paint job was rough. It looked like I did it myself with my non dominant hand. The whole service felt rushed despite the salon being practically empty, which made it more frustrating given that I called ahead specifically to be considerate of their time. Five days later my nails are destroyed. The SNS has cracked on most fingers and taken chunks of my actual nails with it. The gel polish is flaking off. Press ons would have held up better. Would not recommend for walk ins. If you go, make sure you have a dedicated nail tech you trust.

She immediately pulled out nail tips to prepare to rip my nails off. I told her NOT to yank my nails off and she went back & forth with me about it before finally getting a bowl of acetone. It is also worth noting that every tool used was REUSABLE. A health code violation that I WILL be addressing. Remember when I said I told her explicitly to not take my nails off? She slickly tried to do it while I wasn't looking and almost ripped off my nail bed, causing immediate blood and bruising (pictured). She apologized halfheartedly and continued to use the drill at LEVEL 11 On the spot. I told her it burnt and she continued doing what she had been doing. I finally snatched my hand away. She then switched to a regular (reusable) nail file. At the end of the "service", she tried to charge me $20 LMFAOOO I immediately said no, not only have I never paid over $10 for a soak off but you literally caused trauma to my nails. I ended up paying $15. Don't waste your time. The workers here are rude, terrible, don't want to take their time, & take advantage of customers. 0 stars if I could.

It didn't seem like there were a ton of nail techs with speciality and my polish only had two coats but they cleaned up my nails nicely and they look great.
