I've been here twice and had SNS and a basic pedicure. I do not live near Virginia Highlands but I am willing to take the drive there for good service. I no longer go to my typical location so I've been in need of a new place. They are kind of hidden so you have to know where to go. There is ample parking so no need to pay or search. I like this place because my SNS lasts for almost a month without chipping. Services are too expensive these days so having something that lasts is very important to me. Their prices are pretty standard as well. The staff is nice and treats their customers well. I will definitely be a returning customer. read more

We went for walk in appointment and the lady initially said there is 15 min wait,, after 40 minutes of waiting and giving us an attitude . The guy who did the nails had an attitude too and was rude. He was laughing with himself. And said there is alot of appointment coming. You dont have time. The atmosphere was not comfortable. He was angry and was not negotiable. Spending hours in a salon was a waste of time from my perspective. This is why, I never went to a salon for my nails done. My mother encouraged me to visit a nail salon for my "wedding" nails. So, I went to Highland Nails. They nailed it! It is an excellent service. The nails are done beautifully. I received a lot of compliments at the weeding. The lady who did my nails is so nice. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely go back there. I don't think anymore that spending time in a nail salon is a waste of time. read more

AMAZING service. Walked in with no appt around 2PM on a Friday afternoon and was seen immediately. This business is doing an amazing job keeping up with CDC guidelines (requires masks at all times, asks customers to wash hands upon arrival, workers wearing face fields+masks, sanitizing equipment after every use). Inside looks beautiful and clean. My sister and I got a classic mani pedi ($35 for no gel) and let me tell you, this place is more like a spa than a salon. We got foot and hand/arm massages which felt heavenly!! I had an older lady and she was super nice and really good at massaging, and quick but clean with her nail painting technique! This isn't my usual nail spot but it might be soon! Staff is super friendly, nails look amazing, & in clean and convenient location. 10/10 would recommend. read more

This was my first time here and I had an appointment for a deluxe pedicure and SNS removal on my fingers. A very sweet lady greeted me at the door, took me straight back to the chair and a man immediately started to work on my feet. His name was Steven he did an AMAZING job. The chair wasn't working, so there was a big dip on my lower back, which was pretty uncomfortable, but I guess that's the price we sometimes have to pay for cute feet. A friend and I decided that we would get pedicures and since we were already in the Highlands why not visit one nearby. Drawbacks...1) This place is almost impossible to find. not only is it in the back of San Fransisco Coffee, but it is tucked away in a little corner, with barely visible signs as to the exact location. 2) I don't how picky others are about their pedicures but I of course love the squared shape, and I like for my toenails to line up evenly with the tip of my toe. WELL, the night before I accidentally chipped my big toenail, instead of evening it out, why did she cut the toe nail all the way down to the lowest end of the breakage (ugh too bad I was busy talking that I hadn't noticed); usually they ask you if it is OK for them to do a 'cut down' UGH, thank God it is winter... Now for the 4 star part, this place was very clean, my friend and I were able to get our pedicures done at the same time. I think this place even offer massages. I was shocked at how cheap the prices were. The staff was very nice, even though some of the clientele were questionable. Overall I enjoyed this experience and will return, but I will pay more attention to what they are doing. read more

First, ask for Anna. She is a nail genius and does some pretty great well-arched brow shaping. I got gel polish pedicure, gel nail extensions and brow wax. Everything was beautifully done & I love my nails. I did natural "pink" and over 2 weeks later, they still look good. (The cuticles on fingers & toes are showing a little so time for an update). I went a little long (and they are getting longer) on the finger nails so next time, I'll do a shorter nail. (It's really difficult to remove a dry contact lens with long nails) Anna was so thorough, so sweet and funny. I said my phone was out of battery and she lent me an iPhone 5 charger immediately. Great prices and worth every penny and more on the tip. Highly recommend. it's behind Ma Li and looks like a little alley entrance, but walk in & it's nice, super clean and nicely decorated. Highland Nails is classier than many comparable salons. Instead of TVs with blaring talk shows, they play radio that is easily talked over. This salon is not big, but I have never had to wait for a manicure. I would recommend calling ahead if you are headed over on the weekends just since they do get quite busy. The entrance is quite hard to find if you don't know where to look. Park in the lot behind El Taco and DBA BBQ. You enter the salon from the lot (not from North Highland). It is nestled between DBA and Mali. Lee is my favorite manicurist. She is super friendly and does an immaculate job. I have visited this salon many times and have had one or two issues. When I did have a problem (a gel manicure not lasting as long as it should) I came back to the salon and they re-did it for free. Gel manicures here are $29 - comparable to other spots in the area. read more

For the price of the French mani-pedi ($60), with the gel manicure, I expected FAR better quality and execution. I wasn't told that there would be a $5 (10 total) upcharge for French. Not worth the money. The atmosphere is poorly ventilated and reeks of chemicals. It hasn't even been 4 whole days and my gel polish is falling off easier than regular polish. They were inconsistent about using the lamp after polishing and didn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to the timing of each cycle. The French lines are a bit jagged and too thick for my liking, despite asking for thin clean lines. When they trimmed my cuticles, I started bleeding on several fingers because she cut it too close. I asked for a little trim of my nails and she cut them far too short and unevenly across fingers/hands. Just generally disappointed. I had high hopes and saw some nice pictures on yelp and thought it would be OK, and I was only in town for the weekend. They are very nice people but it seems to just be too expensive for what I actually received. read more

I had to come back 2x -- the 1st time was bc the top coat only covered part of my nail the 2nd time was bc the gel polish just peeled off, apparently you have to get the right person Seems pretty clean here - pretty friendly staff but apparently the trick is to find a nail salon artist on the right side instead of the left side. $25 for a gel manicure, no shellac colors but they DO have OPI colors so you can match your toes to your nails :) read more

I arrived 45 minutes early to my appointment for a gel manicure and regular pedicure which I booked online several days in advance. Was basically ignored upon arrival. I checked in the system in the waiting desk for my services. Someone eventually came and I told her what I had booked. Half way into my pedicure someone else told me they would only be doing my pedicure and didn't have time for my nails. I had an event the next day so this was incredibly annoying. If this was the case they should have clarified upon arrival that there was a problem and then I would have gone somewhere else all together. Instead they trapped me in the pedicure chair before telling me I could only have half of what I needed. Oh and they finished my pedicure at the time my appointment was scheduled to start but still couldn't make time for the nail service. Makes no sense. read more

Ok so I am one of these high maintenance girls who always has her nails done. Judge me, I'm ok with that. That being said I have gotten MANY a manicure in my day. This place was pretty bad. It was dingy it has a drop ceiling which has stains all over it. Gross. The clientele is older and maybe cant see where they mess up. The nail polish is was uneven and splotchy. Then there was the service, HORRIBLE, three girls having loud conversations on their Iphones, one girl kept going on about going to her friend Kims house. Awesome I hope you and Kim had fun. It took a lot of soul searching to find the just right nail salon in highlands and I've found it! The salon is tucked away behind el taco's and there's plenty of parking. The staff were so nice and professional. They greeted and seated me immediately on a Tuesday afternoon. The space was calm and cozy. I fell asleep right away in the massaging chair! It was the most relaxing mani pedi I've had in Atlanta actually. No loud tv loud chit chatting just real spa experience for a very reasonable price. I also got my eyebrow waxed in the very clean waxing room! So gel mani/ pedi, eyebrow and underarm wax for a total of $75. The atmosphere is quiet, clean and serene, there is no loud talking or blaring TV, the staff is polite and helpful, the prices are SO reasonable and the mani's and pedi's are the best! I often get a traditional manicure and on my busy hands it can last up to two weeks. Highland Nails is a little hidden oasis. I can't imagine going elsewhere. read more

They were nice, and the place is interesting as it's tucked away under and behind all of the businesses on that corner of Amsterdam and N. Highland. SHE says that they did a good job - I guess my only real value add to this review is that you should bring a book or read a magazine as it's location renders any cell connection almost totally useless. read more
