My mom was seated first, then me 3 minutes later then my SIL 2 minutes after me. I'm not chatty at all when I get these services done and I loved the way my tech was on that wave too. Mom and SIL love to talk and were deep in convo with their techs. The manicure itself was thorough - my insolent cuticles were tamed and removed with ease - and the polish job itself was great. I mostly avoid manicures because I chip the polish in 24 hours but here we are 5 days later and my fingers still look like shiny disco balls. Why I would return: -comfortable seating at the nail tables. Sturdy with room for ample bottoms -friendly and efficient service. There is NO NEED to be at a nail salon for hours. We were out in 45 min max including dry time. -welcoming reception. I love seeing my people when I'm out and she was very warm and inviting. So much so when I told people where we went to get our nails done they asked if she was working. -good job on the polish. Clean lines, no smudge, long/lasting. -NO CHEMICAL SMELLS. From a customer side this was nice - I'm sure from an employee side it's even better. -Super clean and modern. Sometimes nail shops can be worn down. It's clear this place is investing in the space - which makes a nicer work environment and experience for all.

Service: I have now been to You & Co 4 times. Interestingly, I have learned that my experience differs quite a bit depending on the tech I get. The first time I visited was in the summer because I had a gift certificate. Sadly, my first time was not a great experience. I told the tech that I had ingrown toe nails. She did take care of it, but within a day, my toenail was infected, was painful, and had pus coming out. I almost didn't return. Then, when my salon closed, I decided to give You & Co another shot, since they have overwhelmingly positive reviews, and my first experience could have been a fluke. I wish I got the name of my nail tech for this second one because she did such an incredible job. My gel mani and pedicure were meticulously done, and my no-chip lasted for over 3 weeks. The third time, I had a guy, who was also meticulous. However, he recommended no more than 2 coats on my gel manicure. I get the reasoning so that my nails don't look thick, but unfortunately, my nails started chipping in less than a week. My pedicure lasted for over a month though! The last time I went in December, they were really informative in helping me with some fun holiday nails. I opted for the cat eye nail polish, which I loved. MyLinh went over my preferences and she requested I send a pic of the work I wanted done. I saw a picture off of Pinterest I wanted to replicate which required extensive artwork. With these parameters I also needed nail extensions. After going over preferences and quoting a price, Mylinh recommended I do the Russian manicure with builder gel application. I never had a Russian manicure before but was willing to try it out. She paired me with two technicians. Adele who did the manicure and Jamal who did the artwork. Russian manicures are high quality focusing on cuticle deep cleaning which can extend manicure wear. In fact, all of the work is dry application meaning your nails never get soaked in chemical solution. Total work with the artwork took 4 hours to complete with longer lasting results versus a traditional gel extensions. I kept my manicure over 3 weeks before seeing outgrowth and even then they still looked great! When it came time for removal they used a fine drill bit (no soaking was involved). I left with my natural nail intact with the nail bed feeling healthier than ever. Adele did a great job on my nails. She was gentle, patient and really took the quality of her work seriously. Jamal is a trained nail artist who does a good job with her nail art whether it's freestyle or replicating a design. The facilities are modern and clean with comfortable seating. Their pedicure chairs have customizable massage functions making your session a relaxing experience. I rarely get my nails done. At the most I get them done once or twice a year on special occasions or a vacation. However when I do get them done I go all out. After the amazing service I had here I plan to seek out Ipop Central for any future manicure/pedicure needs. Note: Parking is street side only so plan and schedule accordingly.

There's also a couple hair salon booths within the nail salon and the noise from the blow dryers didn't help create a relaxing environment. After a manicure with a nail design that looked like I'd done it myself, and an unexpected upcharge, I decided to switch and find a new salon. If you have plenty of time and patience and are seeking a simple color without a design, ipop is a good option. But if you're looking for an efficient service, I would consider looking elsewhere.

Some of my nails ended up lopsided anyhow. No hand massage, no lotion and sloppy polish application. I had to ask her to redo several nails. When she's done, she takes me to the drying table, tells me how long to wait and starts to leave. Until I call her back to turn the drying fan on. (I couldn't find the switch). She stomped off, never to be seen again. I had to ask one of the other techs to bring my bag and shoes over, because she didn't. This was very disappointing.

As of today, 8/29, exactly one month after, both my left toenail is deeply ingrown and painful because of the shape it was cut, that I asked to keep the sides not rounded, but while I got my manicure, my nail bed and cuticle was clipped into so deeply it would not stop bleeding that the nail itself is damaged at the base. I am very sure the tech working that day knows exactly who I am. She hyper focused on my bleeding middle finger and I said "please just do the left hand for now, I have already been here far longer than expected and have to be at my job soon." She apologized profusely but kept using painful oils and alcohols that stung deeply on the cut. This is to say, I offered to pay BEFORE my nail treatment so I did not have to dig into my purse after. So for $72, I also left a $30 venmo tip to her. None of it was ever offered to be refunded. I did not have any time left to speak about wanting a refund, and was kindly accepting of her apologies, but now that a month later, my left toenail is still in pain is why not only do I want any type of a refund but will also warn others about going here. The fact that a nail paint color would be used on my nail with an open wound and the bottle placed back on the shelf for later use (I hope she threw it away?) is heads up enough. I would like any type of refund from this place. You don't feel like you're in a nail salon. Estella and Michelle did our honey and milk spa pedicures (the upgrade was worth it) and regular manicures. Both were great and our paws and hands feel so much better as a result. I wish this salon existed back home... I love the little touches as well on how this salon supports good causes and takes the longer route to remove gel versus electric filing which always feels like it damages the top of my nail. After needing some TLC, I booked an appointment with Gingerslam Nail Bar for a standard Mani-Pedi. Nothing fancy, no colors or shapes, just enough to bring them up to factory spec. The experience was alright. While I wouldn't go as far as to say it was painful, the discomfort in my cuticles being pushed back and trimmed was greater than I'd encountered in the past. Also, while it felt nice at the time, the oil used on my feet was less thrilling when it met sock and shoe. Finally, one other thing I wasn't thrilled about: In going from the pedi-chair to the mani-chair, I was given a pair of disposable flip-flops. These things were so hilariously flimsy and ill-fitting, my freshly cleaned feet kissed the floor more times than once. Thus, while not a negative experience, I can't say it was an extremely positive one. Though my nails, hands, and feet felt good after, this is counterbalanced by the discomfort of the procedure itself, and feet-on-bare-floor. While a rare luxury, it shouldn't include this level of discomfort, in my opinion. As such, I believe my next nail-care appointment will be somewhere else.

In fact, I don't enjoy sitting at salons forever waiting for my nails to be done. But the shaping of the nails is a bit funky, they look like bubbles, and it's thick. She clearly rushed through getting them done. They look fine though, overall. But if they were trying to close or just couldn't take me, I would've found another place to go to. 3 - The cost was $50. At no point was I told there would be an additional charge, and it was presented as part of the manicure experience, not as upgraded nail art. When I checked out, I was charged an extra $15 for what they called "artwork." I was surprised because the additional cost was never mentioned beforehand or approved by me. If a service costs extra, customers should be clearly informed before it's done. What was most disappointing was the response when I questioned it. Instead of acknowledging the lack of communication, I was basically told that was just the price. As a long-time customer, that felt dismissive and frustrating. This was also not my first negative experience here. On a previous visit, I ended up leaving with only clear polish after being unhappy with the quality of the service, yet I was still charged full price. The issue is not simply the extra $15.
