I've come here for airbrush tans multiple times, including a few days my wedding day (after much deliberation!) - they did an absolutely FABULOUS job (especially Jenn). The ladies who work here are proud of their salon, their work, and are completely professional. They take the time to get to know you and make sure you are happy with everything - they really, really care!!! My tan lasted for quite a while and did not turn out streaky at all. They give helpful and practical self care tips for making the tan last as well. Come here if you want the perfect tan (sans skin damage!). I went all the way down to Golden Girl from Lincoln Park because of the high praise they got on yelp. They def live up to the praise! I am very pale (Irish skin) and have never trained spray tanning- needless to say I was worried I would look like an oompa-loompa. But Jenn reassured me she intended to choose a shade that was natural-looking and not the "freshly fake-tanned" look. My fiancé noticed the tan, but didn't think it looked unnatural at all. In fact he was amazed when I showed him the tone difference on my minimal tan lines. In addition, I told Jenn I am getting married in Dec out of town, and that was part of the reason I wanted to try out spray tanning ahead of time. Although she usually recommends spay tanning two days prior to weddings (and I will be leaving 5 days ahead of mine) she was so helpful and accommodating in discussing the best options for me. She asked me to take pictures to send her in white 2 days, and then 5 days after so we can see how my tan lasts. And she even said if it isn't lasting at day 5, she would find someone she recommends in the area where I will be for my wedding! Overall, still day one and haven't washed the tan off- but so far so good! Very professional, make you feel comfortable, and extremely accommodating. Will def recommend them to anyone! read more

Spray tanning is a tricky game, but golden girl gets an A+ for an awesome job. I had mine done by Jen, and she was so sweet And explained the process to keep a good tan, and she made me feel super comfortable during the actual tan. The color looks so natural, and not orangey. Beautiful facility, incredibly friendly staff and got a wonderful spray tan with Jen! The salon is very clean, Jen made me super comfortable. Express tan was done less than 48 hours before my wedding, I showered twice the day after the tan and was glowing! Only tiny, tiny issue was that I had booked a regular tan, not knowing that an express would be better, so I was recommended the express when I arrived, which I agreed to. I just wasn't made aware of a price change. (55 to 65 as the website currently shows). However, my card was charged $78. Even if it were $65 plus tax, that still would not add up to 78; again, this is very minor, but a receipt was never emailed to me so I'm not sure if there is an extra tax in place due to the virus or if the website doesn't have accurate pricing at the moment. This is the first time I have ever bothered to write a Yelp review! Yaneli gave me an air brush tan last Tuesday for my upcoming vacation and a wedding. She was professional and efficient and really made me comfortable during my 2nd ever air brush tan. 6 days later my color still looks great and has hardly faded. Unfortunately as I was heading out, an unexpected rainstorm started and I didn't have an umbrella or jacket. The woman working at the front desk (whose name is escaping me) walked me out to my uber with her umbrella and gave me a sponge to buff out the tan that spread. I got home in a panic after I realized I still had some streaks on my forearms, and I called at 8:00 pm and they let me send photos for some troubleshooting tips! Everything worked out perfectly! I went in for a blowout and makeup, I had my baby shower at 1 and booked the appointment at 9:45. I was finished by 11, timing was perfect. Yaneli did my hair and makeup. Best spray on tan experience to date! It was easy to get an appointment by just emailing Jenn. The space is nice! Easy parking although I just took the 20 bus from work. I had a wait just a bit while she was with someone else but while I waited I enjoyed some water w/ apples in it and the latest gossip mags. Jenn is super nice and friendly. I was very comfortable. She takes the time to find out what's the occasion, makeup and deodorant removal and even made sure that my white Kooba bag was not in harm's way. And she bends and moves you around like Gumby. There is not a spot on me that was missed. Then I got some Qtips for my ears and nose. It sounds funny but wow! Finally I got a little pot of lotion to take home because moisturizing is important to maintaining the glow. Jenn was thorough and makes sure you have the info you need to make your tan last a long time. She also says you can text her if you have any questions or emergencies. I felt good about that! From the front desk to the experience (both spray tanning and hair by Katie so far) have far exceeded my expectations. Emmet Rhode Salon in Lincoln Park is smallish but super cute inside and Jenn has a seperate area in the back for tanning. Golden Girl's website gives all the pre and post tan procedures (very good to follow) but Jenn was kind enough to remind me anyway. Overdue Update: Golden Girl Chicago has progressed again. Now there is a permanent space! I'm sad that the mobile aspect is gone but you have to give this entrepreneur her props. One time Brittany was booked and I tried another blowout bar in River North - 2 additional girls had to step in and help my original stylist with my hair. Never had a spray tan because I am an African American, and my skin is already tan. My issue is I hate the sun, and my skin is very uneven in places. Loved this place so much. Let me start off by saying I pride myself in being professionally bronze. I have been to EVERY single airbrush tanning facility in the city. Not joking...sad, I know. I came across Jenn after talking to several friends who work on camera and in media - they ALL used Jenn. I dropped my old go-to, and got my first tan from Jenn. It was the most natural looking airbrush I have ever gotten. Never orange or unnatural, always sunkissed. No orange palms, no streaking. Truly flawless. Jenn is such a great gal, she makes you feel at ease and always has great music suggestions (go ahead as ask her!). She comes in, pops up her tent wherever you are, and leaves 20 minutes later, leaving you glowing. She is one of the sweetest gals you'll ever meet. I usually do not write reviews but I thought my spray tan experience might be helpful for someone. First and foremost, they do a really great job being thorough, professional, and efficient with their spray tan. Unfortunately, my tan came out not dark enough to my liking. Naturally I have a nice baseline color year-round so with the spray tan I looked a shade or two darker than my natural skin color. Thus, it wasn't a big enough change for anyone to notice or comment on it. No one noticed. No one. In my pictures I can't really tell that I got a spray tan either. I was hoping for it to develop to a tan you get when you come back from a nice Caribbean vacation. (Don't you love it when you come back from a vacation nicely tan and someone asks you whether you've been on vacation?) Anyways, for girls (or gentlemen) looking to get a nice natural healthy glow - this is exactly what you're going to get. Not a single part of your body will look particularly tan but you'll have that overall sun-kissed glow. Additionally, for some reason the products in the spray tan made my skin breakout in chest, shoulder, neck, and face area. I haven't had breakouts in a very long time so that is very unfortunate. Finally, my tan is coming off in patches. I haven't had that happen to me before (sprayed at different salons). It would usually fade away nicely almost like a natural tan but not this time. I kept showering with Cetaphil to preserve my spray tan and it started to come off all at once in little over a week after being sprayed. Maybe this is what caused it to come off like that. All I can say is Wow! What an amazing and exceptional service. I was in town for a wedding. I called Friday afternoon to make a 9am appointment for Saturday. Although they were booked, Earl moved some people around and provided me with a reservation. Literally he got this done in about 10 minutes max. I tried DryBar a few months ago and was pretty disappointed, which made me burnt out on dry bars for a bit. I could do as good of a job as the girl at DryBar for none of the cost. However, I currently can't hold a hair dryer for an extended period of time, so I needed to request the assistance of a professional. After reviewing a couple of options on yelp, I decided to give Glowout a try - it's fairly close to where I live, the prices are competitive, and the reviews are outstanding. I was not disappointed! Brittany immediately understood what I was going for - a solid style that would last a few days. At first I thought she had gone too curly and I doubted her promises that if I wrapped it in a loose bun, it would look great the next day. It looked great out the door, and I was pretty content with that. Well, here I am 24 hours later, and it looks as good if not better than it did yesterday! I now understand why people go for regular blow outs. I can't wait to find another excuse to go back. A friend of a friend said to come here & she couldn't have been more right! 3rd floor & a little hard to find (so good thing the friendly receptionist gave me easy to follow instructions), the decor is beautiful, inviting, & very clean. I was looking for a little styling help with a new haircut, & my stylist Brittany gave me a wonderful wash, blow out & style with friendly instructions how I could do it myself. That all changed for me this past weekend when I went for my spray on Tan at Golden Girl Chicago.
