Looking for a new sushi bar to check out in early January we decided to visit Matsumotto Sushi &…read moreGrill based on their Yelp reviews and photos. We arrived at 6:30 pm on a Saturday evening to full restaurant which was a great sign. You also want to see your sushi bar moving a lot of product so you know their seafood will be fresh. Lucky for us there were two seats at the bar open so we were seated right away. We started off the meal with of course some Sapporo and premium sake along with a tempura app. I've not found great tempura in the area and was pleasantly surprised with their preparation. We then ordered a Chirashi bowl (wife) and assorted nigiri for myself. The chirashi was okay, decent but not anything amazing. Some of the fish cuts were a little odd like they were the trimmings from the end of the filet. My nigiri was solid and I appreciate the fish to rice ratio was perfect as lot of other places make their sushi with way too much rice to stretch the dish. The amaebi or sweet shrimp was fresh and heads were nicely fried and tasty though I wish they fried it a minute longer. Overall a solid sushi bar tucked away from the main road but definitely worth a visit!

I am so glad we did because this place is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. Once we were inside we were greeted by friendly staff and seated, cold glasses of water came alongside the menus. We decided on some sushi, a plate of Shrimp Yakisoba, and Kobe Beef Fried Rice. The fried rice was so delicious. The best I've had in a long time, the last time I had fried rice this good was when my friend's Japanese grandmother made it for us. That was over 15 years ago. I am also a big fan of Yakisoba, and this Yakisoba was also one of the best I've had in a long time. The sushi was excellent too. The inside is decorated with a nice modern feel, and it's clean and tidy. I love the feel in here. People are just talking, eating, it feels like a true neighborhood joint where there's regulars. I have a feeling I am going to become a regular here too.

Tell me why they don't have edamame, crispy tempura, crispy onions, like without crispy things u might as well order some mash potato slop because it's gonna be squishy as hell. Also the way they cut their cucumbers don't expect small crispy bites it's soggy too. Their sauces are bomb I respect the sauce but dam they are never fully stocked it's a shame. Every time I try to order food from here they're missing ingredients last time it was literal salmon I legit had to tell my man to walk out of the store I was so frustrated and am very hangry now lol idk where to get good poke someone please help me!!!! PS went to Rocky fin it was also TERRIBLE the public needs to know the truth about these places and the quality and consistency of ingredients. I understand supply chain issues but not having edamame for a poke bowl restaurant is insane go to a grocery store at least for ur product, my managers would go to Whole Foods when we ran out of product and did mark outs maybe u should try that

The place was packed when we arrived but we were seated in about 10 minutes. Service was fast and friendly the whole time, even with the crowd. The interior is clean and modern, with a sushi bar for seating along with a few tables. It is a smaller space so it fills up quickly and reservations are definitely a good idea, especially on weekends. Overall it is a great spot and I am already looking forward to coming back.

We were called about 5 minutes into our estimated 30-minute wait and ended up seated at the bar. That's not usually my first choice, but it turned out to be a great spot. Everything is so organized, and I loved having a front-row seat to watch how thoughtfully (and deliciously) all the ingredients were arranged and served. I'll be happy to return, and I'll absolutely be recommending this unexpected gem to others. Thank you, Yonsei, for a wonderful evening and such an enjoyable experience. I left smiling--and from the happy chatter around me, it sounded like plenty of others did too.

I spent a weekend helping my best friend pack up and move, and wanted to bring her a few sweet…read moretreats as a little gift. She has celiacs and so I am always super cautious with baked goods I buy for her so that they're safe for her to have. Crestone was one of the first (and highest rated) bakeries I came across that were specifically catering to the gluten free world. I read through a couple reviews and was almost immediately sold - the hype was great and they weren't too far from me to stop in before making my drive. Crestone is nestled in a pretty large strip mall area, and is right next door to another baked good shop. There is plenty of parking, so finding a spot was very easy. Right when I walked in, I was surprised by the sheer quantity of items in the storefront; there are several refrigerated cabinets, glass cases, shelves, and tables with various items on display. You can kind of see into the back when you walk in, and there are a number of people bustling about. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the folks in the front I assume were the owners. The wife (I think) offered to answer any questions I had, and was very obviously knowledgeable about all the items and nuances with the various recipes. I explained I was there for a friend and that she has had a tough time finding gluten free items that both lasted and tasted good. I was guided around the whole storefront and given several recommendations for items that would be good to try and also hold up for the few hours of driving I had in front of me. After perusing for some time, I got several items: a loaf of sandwich bread, sugar cookies with buttercream frosting, apple fritters, and a soft pretzel. I don't usually shop for gluten free items, but the variety of product at this place is super impressive. I don't see quite the level of diverse products really anywhere I've ever been before, to be honest. This rivals the chain store bakeries in terms of the different types of goodies, in my opinion. All items held up super well during the drive, and the couple of cookies I saved for myself the next day were just as delicious as I expected. My favorite of the bunch had to be the fritter... I LOVE apple fritters normally but I have to say these were probably better than any I've had before, gluten free or not. My friend absolutely loved everything and said that it was by far the best gluten free option she has had to date. That being said, I will definitely be back. There are so many things I'd like to try!
