Tell me why they don't have edamame, crispy tempura, crispy onions, like without crispy things u might as well order some mash potato slop because it's gonna be squishy as hell. Also the way they cut their cucumbers don't expect small crispy bites it's soggy too. Their sauces are bomb I respect the sauce but dam they are never fully stocked it's a shame. Every time I try to order food from here they're missing ingredients last time it was literal salmon I legit had to tell my man to walk out of the store I was so frustrated and am very hangry now lol idk where to get good poke someone please help me!!!! Full Disclosure: My girlfriend said she's ordered in the past and that the portions were very generous, with the fish-to-rice ratio. Well, that was then; this is now. I ordered the salmon bowl, and it was disappointing in every way. For starters, there was hardly ANY salmon at all. I don't know if this is SOP in Colorado, but I've had poke all over the country, from Sacramento, California, to New York, New York, and Saint Louis, Missouri, to Raleigh, North Carolina, and never have I ever gotten so little fish and so much rice and other ingredients in any poke bowl I've gotten before. Normally, at a poke place, my experience has been at LEAST 50% fish with rice and other ingredients, 50%. At Island Fin Poke this evening, the ratio was about 80% rice, 15% other ingredients, and I'm being generous when I say it was 5% salmon. And about that 5%: The salmon had a pinkish hue and appeared to be semi-cooked. I ate all of it because I was hungry, and doing so made me hangry--and not in a good way. As far as my girlfriend goes? Stopped by on a casual Tuesday for lunch and was very impressed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was very clean and we were served immediately by two friendly staff members who explained the menu as it was our first time in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We went with the chicken signature bowl for our 13 month old who loved the edamame and the chicken being cut up into small pieces. The location is great and they have plenty of parking around. I was surprised to see a bit of a line, but it went fast. The staff was so kind to apologize even though they were fine. It was a really great experience. I loved the picnic table style tables. We took our to-go and everything was very nicely packaged up for us. They serve Stubborn Soda which was fun since they had lots of exotic soda flavors in addition to a tried and true cola. The dole whips were the reason alone for me to stop in. First time trying a poke spot and Island Fin Poke comes highly recommended by my lovely mother Tucked away in the shops near the Westminster promenade, this place packs a punch with big bowls stuffed with a ton of fresh ingredients! The bowls are made to order with a ton of fresh ingredients. They have a couple of house bowls, or you can build your own. The build your own bowls come with either rice or greens, 3 scoops of protein and multiple marinades, sauces, and toppings. Everything is made in-house, including the marinades and sauces. I had the spicy tuna, regular tuna, and octopus marinated in the island fire sauce on a bed of hot steamed rice. I topped it off with pineapple/mango salsa, house made spicy pickles, seaweed salad, fried crispy garlic, eda mame, jalapeños and topped with their Jamaican sauce, which is a creamy mayo based sauce with jerk seasoning. I saw a sign for 50% off a Dole Whip on weekdays between 3 pm and 5 pm and it did NOT disappoint. It was $2.18 including tax before tip (and the girl who served me absolutely deserved the tip because even in a 1 minute interaction she was so lovely!). The Dole Whip hit the spot- it was HUGE and delicious and you can get pineapple, pomegranate, or swirl. It's so cute and bright in there, and for $14 you get a poke bowl with unlimited toppings. Island Fin is a counter-order poké place in Westminster. The staff was very pleasant, and the food seemed fresh, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the in-house dining experience was not optimum. They have plenty of space for different types of seating. Yet, all they offer are extremely long, heavy uncomfortable picnic bench tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]If more than a few people were at the same table at a time, it would be awkward getting in and out of the bench without being able to move it because others are sitting on it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have a knee injury and I would not be able to dine there unless there was always and end spot open at one of the 4 tables. They offer no 2- or 4-top tables and no chairs, at all. It's limiting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It felt like they really disn'r want dine-in guests to feel too comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Maybe it's a new restaurant, I don't know, but the staff seemed not to be very familiar with how to serve or present the food. I asked for a base of half spring mix and half rice. I got loads of rice and a small amount of large, whole spinach leaves with very long stems. Not a spring mix. They had no knives to cut up the greens, so many bites were a messy spider of long spinach stems. There was so much rice in the bowl, it dried the whole dish out. It was hard to taste the proteins and other added items for all the rice. They offered "chop sticks" or plastic forks as far as utensils. What they called chop sticks are these tiny little round sticks. Not chop sticks. Very hard to hold, and almost impossible to use for eating food. Only about a third of their menu is shown on the wall. But that isn't clear. You have to ask for a paper menu if you want to see all of their offerings. I was half way into my bowl being prepared before realizing they'd given my friend a more complete paper menu to look at. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The whole experience was confusing and uncomfortable. I think they need to put a bit more thought into the diner's experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are plenty of poké places in Westminster and Broomfield. I won't return to this one. read more
