I always love the food at CAVA, but during our recent visit, my husband's bowl came out with very small portions. He mentioned they barely put any toppings on it, so I decided to go up to the counter and ask if we could get a little more of what he wanted. The young woman working the counter was incredibly sweet and immediately started helping me out by adding more toppings. However, an older woman working there stepped in and was very rude, saying "it's too late" to add anything. I actually apologized to the younger employee for the way that lady spoke to us, and she was so sweet about it--she smiled, told me not to worry, and joked around to ease the tension. I even tried to give her a tip because of how kind and helpful she was, but she honestly told me, "No, it's okay, we get paid well here!" We will definitely come back because the food is delicious and employees like that young woman make the experience great, but management might want to address the attitude of the older staff member. It's an interesting fast casual concept. Either salads or bowls with rice or lentils as a base and various veggies, proteins including fresh made falafels, hummus and baba ganoush, topped by various salad dressings. Cava is a Mediterranean bowl and pita restaurant. Being vegan and gluten free, there was less for me than I would've expected. Unfortunately, the falafels weren't gluten free and the only other option was mixed vegetables. I really liked the black lentils. What impressed me most here were the staff. Very annoyed! Ordered a harrisa avocado bowl, and at the end of the assembly line the guy told me the avocado was bad and I should skip it. If you haven't heard of CAVA, it's a fast casual spin on Mediterranean. Similar to Chipotle's model, you'll walk in and be asked step by step what you want. By the end, you'll hopefully build your ultimate meal. I'll say this was my first experience at one, so I was kind of overwhelmed with the choices. The serving staff was very informative and helped a gal out with understanding! Big thank you. (: I built a salad. Everything seemed very fresh, however, the flavors were just not hitting for me. A friend, her daughter and I caught up over dinner at Cava. This is set up as fast casual. I appreciate all of the choices, ingredients and begrudgingly calories. I went with a grain bowl with black lentils, saffron rice, scoop of eggplant, harissa, red pepper hummus and falafel. Really delicious. For a drink I did the apple, mint, pineapple drink which was not at all sweet and super refreshing. We sat at a table and caught up; it wasn't terribly busy and the space was great for a catch up. It's very rare I review chain restaurants, mainly because I don't usually like them. However this place surprised me, I can see why it's growing so fast. It's like a Mediterranean version of Chipotle, but keep in mind I'm not a fan of Chipotle but the concept is similar. They have bowls and pitas, with lots of fresh ingredients, you pick what you want & off you go. I really like it because it's fast, it's somewhat healthy, relatively cost effective and it's really tasty! I get the stewed lamb meat with the lamb meatballs- which come at an extra charge- but worth it. One bowl with extra meat and all the ingredients fills me up and it's a fast, tasty lunch. Ambiance is similar to a Chipotle and you pay at the front desk after you've chosen your options. They also have a great drink selection, with cucumber mint and others. I also like they don't ask for a tip when you pay like most places, even though you're not getting served. Anyway, I will be back from time to time. Recommended & happy eating! read more

Cava is *chef's kiss*! This was my first time going and it's like a Chipotle for Mediterranean cuisine! The spices, seasonings, meat choices... ahhhmazing! I chose to have a mixed super green salad base with spicy chicken and beef meatballs. I then chose picked veggies, kalamata olives, vinaigrette dressing, feta crumbles, tzatziki sauce, eggplant dip... just any and all of it was such a delight to the tastebuds! I love when you try a new spot and it blows you away! I look forward to coming back soon! All of these options were great for a low carb lifestyle and I was super grateful for that! Tho it's been on our radar for a long time, this was our first visit to a Cava eatery. Short version: 3.5 stars. It's a very decent (but not a bargain) counter-service fast-casual chain that offers a nice break from the usual burgers or sandwiches or Mexican or whatever. While the flavor and quality of the food is above average for this type of place, it's pretty expensive for what you get. Portions are on the light side relative to cost, and the protein portions in particular seemed a bit skimpy. Love that there are a number of healthier ingredient options, but if you're worried about calories or carbs or whatnot, watch what you choose--it can quickly get out of hand. Haha. The drink options at the fountain area are a lot better than most places. Service was friendly and patient (with us being newbies). This particular restaurant was miserably cold the day we went in. The AC was set at a weirdly low temp for late afternoon/early evening on a rainy, not very hot day. Otherwise, the place was very clean and well laid out. There's also a nice looking patio (our usual preference), but it was still wet due to recent rain, so can't comment on its comfort. All in all, Cava is far superior to virtually any true fast food joint, and it's a nice alternative to many other similar counter-service fast-casual sit-down places. Since we will be living walking distance from this location, we will probably pop in periodically for a quick lighter meal on the fly. read more

I Just ordered a to go order and A: I had to wait five minutes for someone to come up front and acknowledge me even though several people made eye contact but continued with the conversation with other employees. I told the guy that finally came up I had a to go order and he handed it to me with no confirmation as to what was ordered. No thanks for coming in, no is there anything else you need or want. I regularly visit this place with my good friend. We ordered a pickup order as usual but decided to head inside a few minutes early. We entered around 3:09 PM, and our order was estimated to be ready at 3:15 PM. We ended up waiting for about 20 minutes for our to-go order. While we were waiting, one of the workers approached us and asked, "Who got the steak as protein?" My friend responded that she did. The worker then said, "This steak doesn't look correct to me, and I wouldn't eat it, but if you want to, I can just keep this bowl. However, he's making a fresh batch as we speak. It'll be done in 6 minutes." Since we were in a rush and the steak looked fine to us, we declined and told her the bowl was fine. As she stepped into the kitchen, another female worker asked her, "What did they say?" When she replied that we said it was fine, the coworker made a snarky comment, "They said it was fine? They want it?!! That's crazy," and they all laughed together. This behavior was very unprofessional and disrespectful. I don't think anyone would feel comfortable eating their food after being publicly laughed at and humiliated like that. I was so excited to see CAVA Westminster. My last experience with CAVA was in Union Park, New York City, in September 2018, which was Five-Star Wonderful. Let's just say I had high expectations. I think CAVA is still the greatest fast-casual concept I have seen in a long time, and CAVA Westminster does not disappoint. The food was fresh, flavorful and the portions generous. I love the variety of greens, grains, sauces and proteins offered. The store is clean, child friendly, and the Staff was fast and friendly, which is important, because clearly Westminsterians love this place. I cannot wait for CAVA to come to Oregon. I learned that CAVA has replaced Zoë's Kitchen, which at first broke my heart, but I couldn't fault this after trying CAVA. Their Chicken RightRice bowl is phenomenal and everything I'd want in a Mediterranean bowl. So many toppings, dips, sauces along with a calorie-conscious base of "high protein and high fiber grain made from 90% vegetables (lentils, chickpeas, and peas)." We stopped in Saturday for a quick healthy takeout dinner after playing golf. We were very pleased with the quick friendly service and all the great toppings. I was blown away by all the great vegan toppings falafel, roasted veggies, lentils, veggies pickles, hummus, harrisa, and server vegan friendly dressings. Probably more vegan friendly than the similar Mexican style chains. My husband got a lamb meatball sandwich and pitta chips and hummus. Super quick and easy, and lots of good stuff to pick from to customize your flavors. We went with the falafel because we were craving it, and it was spot on delicious. We were going to go to kabob station, but they were only doing take out and delivery.
