Supposed to have a life time warranty! Claims Thule is blowing them off!!
    Leo P.

This is the worst place to get your racks! I've had Thule racks on my trucks since 2000. My last set had corrosion and I wanted to get them replaced with their life time warranty. I've given the run around by the owner for over two years!! He keeps telling me Thule is ignoring his requests to replace my racks. I lost my original receipt so can't go right to Thule to get them replaced. Do not get your racks from these guys, you will go bananas!!

    Kayak on the Sandbar

Absolutely recommend Go Bananas Watersports! We rented a two person kayak for a day to kayak to the Kanehoe Sandbar. For $50, we rented a kayak, sizeable wet bag, two life jackets, two paddles, foam blocks for the car, and all the straps we needed to strap the kayak to the far. John was the BEST and walked us through how to assemble the kayak: how to put the seats on, how to attach the paddles, how to open the compartment, and even a short demo on how to paddle efficiently. He also carefully strapped the kayak to the top of the car and showed us how to do it. He didn't rush through any part of it and made sure we understood each step of the process completely. We took a video of the setup and mount on the car; it was a little tricky figuring out how to strap the kayak on the car ourselves at the waterfront but thanks to John's detailed instructions, we were able to watch the video I took and figure it out. We had a wonderful time kayaking to the Sandbar, all the gear they gave us was fantastic and kept our stuff dry. The straps attaching the paddles to the kayak came in handy. The return process was very fast. We will definitely come back again next time we are in town!

Rack on mounting points for 2024 Toyota Tacoma

Been coming here for over 20 years with great results. Just purchased a 2024 Toyota Tacoma and there's very few bespoke aftermarket racks and installation services. Thought I'd call Go Bananas and they totally hooked me up! John figured out a solution to install Yakima aero racks in the factory mounting points. No drilling, very reasonable installation fee.

I was bored and decided to stop by and check some roof racks and accessories out... nonetheless... I ended getting my Mini Cooper all suited up. I got most of the bell and whistles and everyone working here is super helpful! They may seem a bit rough, but being in the business industry for more than a decade... I can understand. I've had many positive interactions with everyone working here. I highly recommend shopping here for your adventure needs!

My Thule rack re-do, new Fit Kit and load bars.

I really appreciate when a business takes a moment to patiently and thoroughly explain what they have and what they can do for you OVER THE PHONE, before you drive out there. That's exactly the kind is customer service I got from Go Bananas Kapahulu. Now I've been here many times and bought multiple different items from roof racks to having my Scupper Pro kayak rugged for diving. But on this particular day I needed to re-do my Thule roof racks for my Tacoma. They've been really abused over the years, but I didn't need the whole setup, I just wanted to replace certain parts. So I called them first and I think it was Andrea ( sorry if I'm wrong, but I know it's close), took the time to explain to me that they did have in stock the parts I needed and what parts they could re-use from what I already have, she even took the time to pull up my original receipt to double check what I did purchase years ago to be sure this re-do will work. I told her I'll be there in 20 minutes, she said she'll start pulling out the parts. Sure enough when I got there she was ready with the parts standing by. Awesome, friendly, SMOOTH and prompt service! They totally made my day! Excellent! The only place I'll go for vehicle racks and accessories. BTW, when they rigged my kayak for me it was years ago before we had Yelp, Go Bananas did an awesome job on that too!.... FYI.

Wow! Talk about customer service. This father - daughter team was extraordinary in helping both putting on the racks and showing me how to lock them on but also how to put on my surfboard properly to protect it, use the straps and then added I shouldn't take my car through a car wash ever, unless I removed the racks. I appreciated their kindness. It wasn't a cheap purchase and they provided value that was unexpected. They cared for my best interest overall. I could not have asked for more!

This store is awesome! It literally has everything you could possibly need for various outdoor activities. They had kayaks, hammocks, trail running shoes, bags, and etc. The staff were all super friendly and were very happy to assist us with all of our questions. Thank you! We'll definitely be back!

    Awesome pedal kayak!

Chad was an outstanding guide--friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly familiar with the area. He taught us the basics of balancing, paddling, and navigating the water, and within just a few minutes we were confidently paddling alongside him. We explored the river during the evening and sunset, surrounded by beautiful scenery, calm waters, and amazing views. One of our favorite parts was spotting turtles and fish while paddling. Chad also took great photos and made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe throughout the entire adventure. As a parent, I really appreciated how relaxed and family-friendly the experience was. It wasn't dangerous or intimidating at all--it was simply fun, active, and unforgettable. The boys loved it so much that my older son told me he wanted to work for Chad when he grows up so he could do this every day! That made me laugh, but it also showed just how much of an impact this experience had on them. If you're looking for an outdoor activity that is fun, safe, memorable, and suitable for all ages, I highly recommend Chad and Nocturnal Adventures. It was money well spent and one of the best family experiences we've had together.

I wish it wasn't such a chore for them especially since we tend to tip well (at least 20% even if its bad like this). No matter what time of year it is usually pretty crowded and hard to navigate around ppl. But if you can get out there, it is super fun and the waves are usually gentle. While staying at Moana or Royal Hawaiian we saw a monk seal in the waves swimming through the surfers. Other than that not too much sea life sadly.

We got to relax for awhile under a Beach umbrella and then it was time to help push the canoe into the water and hop on in and start paddling! We had three crew members with us - it was a BLAST!! The fun and views of surfing, without having to get in the water (though we did get a little wet) and no worries about balance. The outrigger canoe has the "ama" (the stabilizing float part) which made it smooth and easy...except for the paddling. Very safe (and that's coming from a former Risk Manager). I have no upper arm strength and we had to paddle hard at times and had we done it any longer than our 30-40min, I would definitely have had a blister. It was a beautiful morning (so thankful there was no rain), ocean was calm, and riding in the three waves was exceptional and something I am so glad they captured on video for us so we can truly remember the feeling always!! This is a MUST DO next time you are in Hawaii!

Emily made sure all my questions were answered, advising what to wear (I asked), and what to bring to the beach, versus leave up at the shop. Amazing!! Some downsides: it's a BIG group! Even though we got semi-private lesson (1 instructor for the 2 of us), you're still taking the lesson amidst the rest of the "school"(...which for us, was 2 school buses filled with students. Maybe 25 people?) You're then all having your lesson in the same area of water, so imagine 30 beginners all on surf boards confined to a limited area on the water. I didn't love this part. You're assigned an instructor (and each of course has his/her own personality). The instructors were all great: coaching you through the positions, picking the waves for you, pushing you off into them to gather speed, and calling out when to "paddle" then "up". But each instructor inherently comes with a personality and if you get a less aggressive one, you might end up waiting for all the other students to get their turn before you get to go. Then (this part was unexpected)...you have to win all the way across, to get out of the "surf lane" of all 25 beginner surfers, before you can win back out to get in line for your next try. It was a lot of swimming for not a lot of surf trials which really tires you out. By 5 runs, I'd had enough. I have had one lesson before (which I absolutely LOVED!!) but it wasn't as part of a big school, it was just me, and one other student, and the instructor. And there was no 25-50 ft "surf lane" that you had to swim across after each attempt to get out of the way of the other students. this extra swimming ate into a lot of surfing time I think. Anyway, good experience, but I wouldn't do it again in this way. Actually, I'm not even sure I'd do it again at all. I ended up buying the photo footage because I'm so sure I'm off surfing now...so might as well buy the photos, as I'll probably never do it again. That's not how I felt after my 1st experience a few years ago in a different format.
