On Monday I left my phone on the 918 Hartford to Willimantic bus. I called and left a message because you can't talk to a human...especially at a company such as PP Bus Lines because they know they have horrible customer service and are tired of people bitching at them. 6 phone calls and three emails later over the course of the last 5 days and they don't even have the decency to return and or acknowledge I've called or emailed. Not surprised at all they have a 1.9 out of 10 score and I hope my review brings it down to 1.8. CT Transit should consider finding another company that maybe would treat there riders better.

Shame on me for giving Megabus a 3rd chance. I will never book another ticket with this company…read moreagain. The novelty of cheap tickets does not outweigh the pure aggravation you will subject yourself to waiting for busses that are hours late and dealing with drivers who have no sense of urgency. Do yourself a favor and take the train. Like others have said, my most recent experiences with Megabus have been terrible. Not so much because no bus in the last 3 occasions have been on-time (last time the bus was 1 hour late) but mostly because of the nonchalant attitude of the drivers. Simply said, they don't seem to care about their passengers at all. This says to me that Megabus as a company does not incentivize their drivers to be customer oriented (i.e. through training, performance monitoring and/or compensation). Unfortunately those who can't take a train will be subject to Peter Pan/ Greyhound which have similar flaws (at least with those options you have roofed bus stops).

The good: Megabus provides a low cost fare. There is a bathroom on board. The bus was clean…read more The bad: They were 45 minutes late. I wish they had texted me that they would be late, they did not communicate. A fellow traveler called in and was able to determine there was a delay. I thought there would be on board Wi-Fi, there was not. The boarding process is a bit disorganized. Summary: This was not a horrible experience. The folks we were traveling with on this 3 hour ride were an interesting assortment of people. College students, a guy from Poland visiting US Cities, people traveling for work, a woman with her child going on vacation, and an elderly woman on her way to a funeral. If you are on a tight budget, this is a viable, safe option. I recommend you dress in comfortable clothes, bring a snack and water and have the contact information for the bus line with you. Before you go stand outside at the bus stop, call and see what the departure time will be.

This is just your average train/bus station with services to New York, Boston, Philadelphia, etc…read more.. There's a parking lot, across the street, I have never utilized it, since I typically get dropped off, or occasionally pick up a passenger. This station is small, with some seating available, there's a Subway for food, a convenience store also selling coffee, pizza and bagels. No reliable place to get a coffee, like Starbucks or Dunkin. There's some outlets, but none that are usb supportive, I only brought the cord with me. There appeared to be plenty of ATMs. Unfortunately, due to mechanical difficulties, I couldn't take this pre planned and pre payed trip today. This is not the fault of the Union Station, but the bus company Grayhound. This is a very basic bus station in Hartford. It would be nice if people could use trash cans to dispose of their litter, making the Union Station a tiny bit more pleasant for fellow passengers.

They also have the Amtrak trains in this same station. Although I feel safe, the area is definitely sketchy. There are ticket counters for this who hasn't bought their tickets beforehand. And there is also a small eatery that has coffee and breakfast sandwiches to purchase.
