My daughter was moving out of her apartment at the HubBk, and moving back to Los Angeles, therein, I had to hire Go Green sight unseen. Because Mr. Miles has such a sterling reputation, I paid him BEFORE the move date. At no surprise to me, he was in contact with my daughter consistently. On the moving date, Go Green came on time with four cleaners, and they did an excellent job cleaning the apartment. I would recommend that this company be hired for all the major high rises in Brooklyn, i.e., The Hub Bk and the Brooklyner. Found Go Green through Yelp and hired them twice to deep clean a brownstone residence before renters moved it. Leonard and his team of three cleaners removed 40 year old dust outlines on walls, clean 100 year old windows, removed dust from ceiling moldings, door jambs, library shelves, every cabinet and closet....the house looked like we just painted (which we didn't!). A four story townhouse refreshed in just 5 hours. The workers are respectful of the spaces, and careful to consider the best environmentally safe cleaning solution for each surface. I went for GoGreen for my post-construction cleaning and it was a pleasant experience! My floor was covered with a layer of dust from construction. Not only that, I had furnitures in the room, which although covered with a tarp, still got dust all over. I didn't know how to begin cleaning myself. I went searching for post-construction cleaning services. I found many and called a few just to get a sense. Wayne, the manager was very responsive and helpful. The price point was competitive, he was able to send his crew over the very next day, and he called when the crew was running a bit late in the morning just to give me a heads-up. The crew, led my Lenard, was very professional and went to work immediately. A few hours later, they came down and announced that it is done. I went up, and sure it is! The place is not covered with dust anymore! And it smells clean! I can't tell you how a clean room lifts one's mood, but mine was about to soar up the sky! I highly recommend this place! Never use their services!!!!! I used Go green for their cleaning services. I live in a small apartment that had a layer of dust from construction downstairs. I told them about the dust everywhere and I told them that the dust on the walls and floors are the main priority. I used them for about 3 hours for around 210 dollars total. The molding on the walls were still covered in dust. They completely skipped the walls and floors in the bathroom. They didn't wipe down a single surface in the kitchen, living room, or bedrooms. The mop left a trail of goop in one of the bedrooms that I had to wipe up myself. They barely moved anything around to clean. Basically, the apartment still feels dirty but it has a fresh scent to it. Sigh. I agree with the previous yelper. I could have done the same job in half the amount of time and man power. This is NOT professional cleaning. read more

I picked Go Green based off its good reviews here. They were extremely accommodating as I called on a Wednesday and needed cleaners the following weekend. The house looks spotless. Leonard literally mopped his way out of the house - that is truly amazing! Very thorough job. This would have been a 5 star review, but the cleaners were 30 minutes late, and didn't apologize. When I mentioned I'd expected them earlier, they just shrugged and said their earlier job had gone long. I understand that it was probably out of their control, but a phone call or an apology would have gone a long ways. Pricing: $70/hour. It seems expensive, but that gets you two cleaners who bring ALL their own cleaning supplies and equipment. If you want a really thorough job, Go Green is a good choice. read more

This is our go to store for going green. We were neighbors with this store for 6 years, and got pretty used to the wonderful array of choices of home and industrial cleaning products. The essential item for us was cheap recycled toilet paper! Gotta have it! We moved last month, and now find ourselves travelling back to old hood to visit Wayne. Why? STAY AWAY. This is a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service. I don't know what these 5 star reviews are about. We were looking for a basic clean. Our regular maid wasn't available when we needed her so we looked on yelp for an alternative. The previous reviews lead me to believe that this would be a good choice. Boy, was I mistaken. I wasn't expecting a lot. I didn't think they would clean out our drawers or our refrigerator, but I did have hopes that they would at least attempt to make our apartment LOOK clean. Our apartment was not especially messy nor is it an especially cluttered space. All I can say that they did was clean the wood floors and dust. The pillows were still askew and the throw blanket was still crumpled in a ball when we returned. The luggage that was on the floor in our bedroom was left on top of our bed, and the rug and sofa looked like they hadn't been vacuumed or cleaned at all. Our leaning desk was not replaced on the wall correctly and was balanced precariously and very well could have fallen if we hadn't noticed in time. I could go on... To make matters worse, they followed up a couple of days later to ask how our experience was. That part was nice, but after I finished telling them what a terrible job their guys did, their representative told me that the owner was not in the office that day but that he would get in touch with me in a couple of days to make it up to us. That was a week ago. STAY AWAY. Overpriced and HORRIBLE. I could have done what they did in about 2 hours all by myself. read more

Great idea for a store, but poorly informed about what GREEN is. I've talked to Wayne several times about the products he carries. Unfortunately, he still carries Mrs. Meyer's and other products that contain SYNTHETIC "FRAGRANCE" or "PARFUM". This one ingredient is unregulated in the USA and can contain 1,000's of chemical additives, including phthalates, most of which have been linked to asthma, hormone distruption, and cancer. If you carry products that contain fragrance or don't openly disclose their ingredients, you should not be advertising yourself as a green cleaner. read more

I've shopped at Go Green for a few years, and the owners are very knowledgeable about the products. They have a vast selection of eco-friendly and non-toxic cleaning and household products, including harder to find items and lesser known brands. As the parent of a 1-year old, I've found their expertise helpful in selecting safe cleaning products, especially since my son puts everything in his mouth and crawls around on the floor. I would not want to use harsh chemicals! They most recently helped me find a non-toxic upholstery cleaner, so I could avoid using a steam cleaner with all of the chemicals. Of particular interest to parents, they have testing kits for lead paint (if you live in an old brownstone you may want this), radon, and other toxins. Anyway, this store is quite unique in that it is a stand-alone store that specializes in eco-friendly, non-toxic products, unlike your local bodega that my just have 1 or 2 brands. I had a great experience with Go Green! My situation was unique, since I had just had extermination done in the apartment and needed the kitchen deep cleaned. They cleared out and cleaned ALL of the kitchen cabinets, washed the dishes in the cabinets (which they don't normally do but agreed to do given my special circumstances), deep cleaned the bathroom and did the floors and dusted the rest of the apartment well. I have already recommended them to friends and would do so again. Marjorie in the store was very helpful and accommodating to my needs. The guys that came were GREAT - cleaned hard and efficiently in the time allotted. It's more expensive than cleaners I've had in the past, but they did a MUCH better job. Go Green an environmentally friendly cleaning service is the best. We used them for "spring cleaning" a couple of years ago. We just hired them back, after basement construction, to clean our brownstone top to bottom. Leonard and Daniel did a great job. I was very unimpressed with this service. I was sent 2 people to clean for 3 hours and it became apparent that only 1 person had the cleaning expeirience Ii was looking for.. When I saw that the second helper kept wiping a spot over and over I started keeping an eye on him. He needed to be moved alomg as he would get lost in a task. At one point I found him grabbing all of my hand towellets in the bathromm to wipe on the floor. My custom stained cabinets had the finish wiped off of them in 2 spots before I stopped them. I had a terrible day and was relieved when they left. My cleaning lady has nothing to worry about. Maybe my expectations were too high but this was certainly not worth the money. read more

Go Green was a life saver! I was moving into a new apt. with my 9 month old and the previous tenants left the place a WRECK! I had a few days to move in and I called them and they were able to accommodate me very quickly and they worked efficiently and effectively and all green products that are safe for the little one. Even when the 2 gentleman arrived and I asked them if I can get them anything to eat or drink they said, no because it will effect how they work. Our preschool has used GoGreen for over three years, and I can only say amazing things. They come five times each week and are extremely reliable (in fact they have never missed a day!). I have been using Go Green for over 6 years. Love the work that Daniel and Leonard do--they are fast, thorough and get so much done in three hours. They always get to everything I ask: cleaning fridge, stove and oven inside and out, cleaning windows, sweeping and mopping all floors, deep clean in bathrooms. Wayne is friendly and accommodating and tries to work with my schedule. Daniel and Leonard are professional, no-nonsense and kind. i used their cleaning service, it was ok.... two guys come and clean the floors and bathrooms. if this is what you are looking for, they are great! but i was hoping for more of a cleaning service...i had to go around and spend time putting everything back and making it look tidy. they moved things to clean the floor and didnt put them back, they missed lots of surfaces, didnt leave things looking organized at all. threw pillows and pictures on top of my book shelf, didnt touch the sofa, and the last room they cleaned was hardly dusted at all. still spider webs in corners. for the most part, the place is clean, it looks messier than before they came, but the floors dont have as much dirt on them. i will not be using them again. i am going to take my chances on somebody who makes the house look nice as well as clean. the green part is over rated, i am just going to buy my own cleaning products and ask the next cleaner to use them. read more
