Update: originally I gave this company 5 stars. Unfortunately, they used too much water on our original, 130 year old hardwood floors, causing some boards to warp in the days following the cleaning. I am currently in the process of resolving it with them. However, I sent them a photo of the floor warped and the owner said, "that doesn't prove anything." I find this response unacceptable. She was here, she saw the floor not warped. It is now warped. I am sending them additional photos and a photo of the floor prior to cleaning tomorrow but this is so depressing. I am really upset and hoping this company will resolve this with us. Mandy and another cleaner took a filthy, grimy, dust and dirt covered apartment that had not been lived in for over a year and had been used as a wood shop and made it shine and sparkle. The appliances look brand new now. They deep-washed the floors so that all the dirt and grim is gone. Mandy came with an assistant, which meant they were able to clean our apartment in half the time (extra appreciated when you have a 6 month old) but the apartment felt twice as clean! They are a very tactical team: pulling our furniture away from the walls to clean the entire floor, cleaned all the skirting boards, and left our kitchen and bathroom spotless. This company is great source material for Saturday Night Live. Seriously, everything from the stereotypical owner who threatens her employees and customers alike when minor hangups occur, to calling you every few seconds to check on your payment (everything is done through paypal), the company is a joke. First, as a previous reviewer stated, they do not bring cleaning supplies. In fact, in my case I had to leave the apartment to purchase sponges. That's right, they came completely empty handed. We used a cleaning service in the past that required that you provide your own cleaning supplies, particularly if you wanted to use non-toxic products. But Eco-Friendly arrived with nothing! And the cleaning was done with water and sponges--no need for the over priced green products you might find at Whole Foods or any hardware store. Nothing says green like a little NYC water. I could go on and on about how ridiculous the company is, but the thing to watch out for is that Mandy, the owner, is not easy to work with. I cannot recommend Mandy enough. I had no prior relationship and cold emailed after finding this service via Yelp. Mandy replied quickly via email. I explained I needed a top to bottom cleaning of our apartment, including under the bed, behind the couch, the baseboards, kitchen, bathrooms, tub, behind the toilets and so on. She asked if we wanted the refrigerator cleaned as well which we declined. She quoted me a price which I agreed to. Soon thereafter a comprehensive "to do" email arrived about what things we should have and what she would bring with her. She arrived on time with a smile at 9AM. She did not leave until 5PM that evening. I have never seen an apartment so thoroughly cleaned. It sparkled. It was done with care and it was done well. Post cleaning she had us check everything via a checklist to assure each and everything was done. There was one small area she missed that we would not have checked if not for the checklist. This weekend, I redeemed my 3hr Living Social deal and had Mandy come clean my studio apt in Queens and it was stellar. Emails were prompt and thorough which were much appreciated compared to past experiences (with other companies). I was given a few options as far as availability and I chose one right away. From the get go, I stressed how important it was that the person be on time (in each email correspondence). Mandy arrived 50min late but honestly - her cleaning kind of made up for it. With other companies, I've had to show people how to clean, put supplies out, follow them to be sure they were doing everything, etc. Mandy brings her own green products (you supply rags, paper towels and sponges) and I was so thankful to have her help! I was so thrilled with how clean my place looked, I will absolutely consider having her come monthly even without the coupon! She didn't leave any messes, takes off her shoes when she comes in, and discards any trash herself. Next time, I'll schedule her an hour early to anticipate lateness... Mandy and Sanita do great work. They are very thorough and detail oriented. For example, they actually move objects to clean under them, and get rid of dust on molding. They also organize your things--make the bed, fold blankets and random clothes--so your apartment looks more tidy than how you left it. Their prices are great and they are also very accommodating. We had a very pleasant experience using eco-cleaning. Cheryl did an AMAZING job on our bathroom (which, oh so needed it) as well as the kitchen, living room and hallways. She did run out of time before the bedroom, but we have a pretty decent size apartment, and I asked her to spend more time in other rooms anyway. She did a fantastic job and was incredibly pleasant while scrubbing our grime (a talent in itself!). Mandy & her crew have been cleaning up our messes and brightening up our home for a few years, now. I let the place get pretty dirty in-between visits, so each time they come, it's for 5+ hours, but they get everything thoroughly shining from floor to ceiling. If I had them over more often for maintenance cleaning, I'm sure each visit would be shorter and easier on us all, but I don't mind the long sessions because it's a joy to talk with Mandy & her crew while they spiffy up the place. Mandy schedules the sessions by number of rooms to be serviced, "light" or "deep" cleaning, and the number of cleaners it will take to accomplish the job. So, you & she both know what time and people commitment to expect up-front, and it's priced accordingly. We have 3 Bedrooms, 2 full Baths, Living Room, Dining Room, large kitchen, foyer and long hallways. The time and cost to get through them all varies depending on what we need done and what Mandy thinks she can get done in a reasonable amount of time. It's an informed negotiation. Another reviewer complained about bad time management, refusal to do certain tasks another crew had done and missing that "sparkle" after a completed job. I wonder if she contracted for those specific tasks; Just because one crew does something one way, doesn't mean another will do it the same way. I've found Mandy to be very clear in her communication, and I list everything I need cleaned in email prior to scheduling. When they arrive, they methodically go through each room, managing the preordained tasks well in the time allotted. And I definitely experience that "Sparkle" after they leave a job well done. Because I've had this same good experience time after time for years, I believe that they are consistently good. Perhaps the other reviewer was unfortunate enough to experience a fluke of a bad experience. It happens. I agree with the other reviewers that Mandy is very quick to respond to requests, however I caveat that she does require you to come back to the apartment at the completion of the cleaning job to review and pay. If you are like me, and you have a job, that simply isn't possible. In my case, it was stated in the invoice that payment needed to be made immediately, but truthfully I did not realize I had to actually be physically present to make the transaction. Mandy called me about 10 times, left threatening voicemails and emails even though I assured her I would complete the transaction as soon as I got home, which I did. All in all, the cleaning job was OK, and for the record, NOT green (they don't actually bring any cleaning supplies) But it was Mandy's behavior that compelled me to warn any future clients. read more

Uhhhh... so like, WHEN in September? Maybe you could give ME a few options?? So I responded to say that we'd just like a basic cleaning, and asked WHEN in September? I got a super rude email back telling me IN BOLD that the voucher doesn't cover what I asked for, and that my apartment is TOO BIG for the voucher - I CAN ASSURE YOU IT IS NOT! One tiny kitchen, one tiny bathroom, a tiny living room, and a bedroom - pretty sure that's 4 rooms. AND again, I did not get options for appointment times. Below is extracted from your email after we made appointment: -Items on this list are not provided by cleaning company as we want to avoid transportation of bacteria from house to another. -Cleaning materials: 1. Vacuum and or Broom with dustpan (a broom is only sufficient if you have a small flat with no carpet). 2. Swiffer and Swiffer pads 3. Garbage bags 4. At least 2 rolls of paper towels 5. Scrubber sponge. You must have at least two (2) new sponges with the rough green side 6. Toilet brush The requirement of the vacuum/broom is neither an express terms nor an implied term to us. We do not have a vacuum/broom; if we knew that we must prepare an vacuum/broom at cleaning, we would not ever purchase the voucher. Beside, our floor is made by wood, we do not think it is a good idea using a broom to clean it. You insist that each household should have the boom. However, for my common sense, cleaning company is the one who shall prepare for it. Moreover, Swiffer is enough for our apartment. We do not want to buy a broom which will be only used once, that is not eco-friednly. Our sincere suggestion is please state those conditions clearly and definitely at beginning. It's an older building, with lots of draftiness and nooks and crannies, so Mandy really had her work cut out for her. So much so that she called me 2 hours in to tell me she needed 3 additional hours to really get the best possible outcome. She was incredibly communicative about every step, and told me in advance every option I had and what it would mean for pricing, and left everything up to me. I went all in and asked her to stay for the extra time and I'm so glad I did. My apartment is SPARKLING clean and not just on the surface -- it's just insane how much care she takes, rather than just making things look good on the surface. I've continued to use Mandy over the last few months and I'm consistently impressed with the quality of her work and the work of her staff.

Mandy just left our place, and did an excellent job! She was very thorough, worked non-stop, and was extremely friendly and respectful. Please don't be swayed by the requirements for having your own cleaning products. The LivingSocial program is great for the consumer, but absolutely terrible for the merchant. The promotion costs you maybe half of her usual fee, but LivingSocial also claims half that cost, leaving almost no profit. It exists as a way to attract new clients at a heavy discount. So, if you're getting such a great deal on the service, you should not expect the luxurious frills of a full-service session. Please, if you're hiring her via LivingSocial, read the voucher and requirements carefully, and you'll see that the service is still an excellent value. Bite the bullet, go to CVS, and pick up the cleaning supplies. She'll be doing much better work with them than you would. For what should have been a very basic, "introductory-level" cleaning service, Mandy did an above-and-beyond job, and was a joy to have around the apartment. Great, great service. Easy to arrange the appointment and right on time first thing in the morning. The two women who did the cleaning were focused and incredibly thorough. Also very nice and tolerant around our two crazy puppies. The job they did was phenomenal. The white grout in the tile bathroom floor and the glass shower, all the grimy windows and mirrors, the stainless countertops and sink in the kitchen, all the counters and the bamboo floors with dog hair, etc. all over--even underneath and behind the couches, tables, etc.--all of it spotless, and the entire appartment looking and smelling like new. I am now going to hire Mandy's team on a recurring monthly basis. Price seems about the going rate but, to be honest, for this level of service I'd even pay more. We've been working with Eco-Friendly since June and have been very pleased. Shavika is our primary cleaner and she is absolutely wonderful. Always on time, incredibly kind, and truly so accommodating to whatever our needs are on that specific day. She's quite sweet to both of my kids and dog which is just an added bonus. She does a great job too! We trust her completely and she always makes sure our dog is safe inside before heading out when she's finished. We've been so pleased that we have gone from once a month, to twice a month and now we are at once a week. I've used several cleaning services but have stuck with Mandy's for a few reasons: 1. She brings her own supplies! This makes it really convenient for me so I don't have to worry about not having a certain cleaning supply. They are also Eco-friendly, which ends up smelling nice but not too strong. 2. She's very responsive and always answers emails quickly. Has always been able to schedule cleanings in days, not weeks. 3. She takes paypal which is very convenient. 4. If you offer her a set of keys, she has a signed document showing she recieved them sent to you. I found this very professional and have had no other service offer it. Mandy's has disappointed not once but twice. I first used them with an Amazon local voucher. The team did a decent-enough job, but were not as thorough as previous cleaners. I missed that "sparkle" you experience when the job is complete. Moreover, they flat out refused to do a couple items that previous cleaning companies always did, such as the windows of the doors in my vestibule. I let it go and chalked it up to the fact that they were working at a discounted rate. I booked them again for 8 hours at full price, completely forgetting I had used them previously. By the time I discovered that, I had already paid a deposit. There were numerous telephone conversations with Mandy to set up the cleaning and confirm that we were in agreement on what was to be done and what the priorities were. The conversations were so numerous, lengthy and redundant that I actually had to tell her I could not discuss the job anymore; it was taking time away from my work. The team arrived 10 minutes early and got right to work. Three hours into the job (six man hours of the scheduled eight) they were still cleaning the downstairs. I asked how they could clean the three bedrooms, full bath and office upstairs in one hour. I wonder what would have happened if I didn't say anything. Would they have worked the entire eight hours downstairs and skipped the upstairs space entirely? Several lengthy, redundant conversations with Mandy later, they rushed through the upstairs, leaving the master bedroom UNTOUCHED and two small bedrooms merely vacuumed and emptied of trash. No dusting, no mopping as per the contract. The contract did not include any straightening up, linen changes, or clearing of clutter (we did that ourselves before they arrived) even though most crews managed to get that done in the past. They did a lovely job in my small kitchen and the frig looked cleaner than it has in years. Except for some dusting and trash removal that wasn't done, the downstairs living areas looked terrific. However, the lack of planning, time management, prioritizing and communication meant that much of the job was left incomplete, right down to the wet mops they left sitting in a bucket of dirty water. Who leaves their used tools out and calls themselves a professional? Perhaps Mandy's team can manage small apartments, but they clearly were not up to a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath duplex. (I see a previous reviewer mentioned they ran out of time and did not do her bedroom either.) I have had many individuals and teams clean the space in the past and they always completed in less time and a FRACTION of what I was charged. Never again. read more

Mandy and Shavika did a common room and surface cleaning of our apartment (living room, dining room, bathroom, and kitchen). They arrived on time, were extremely professional, and did a fabulous job. They estimated that it would take between 1.5 and two hours, and it took exactly 2 hours. And the apartment looks utterly beautiful. I don't even know how they cleaned so much in such little amount of time--they even removed all of the books from the two standing bookshelves and dusted each shelf. I work from home, so I sat in the bedroom. I took a conference call while they were here and there was absolutely no disturbance, you couldn't even hear them with the door closed. I called Mandy because of a Living Social coupon I received. Since I wanted a DEEP CLEAN, I didn't use the coupon, but Mandy gave me a very fair price after we discussed what I wanted. Mandy and two of her associates did an incredible "Deep Clean" of my house. They spent 6.5 hours cleaning and it shows. They paid attention to every part of their work -- my tile bathroom walls were scrubbed; my baseboards were not just touched with a dust cloth but CLEANED -- even behind the beds; my wood floors have not looked so lovely since they were refinished; and my carpet and upholstery were truly dust-free -- even under the bed. Mandy even offered to do things I hadn't thought of -- she cleaned the outside of my kitchen-cabinets with wood cleaner, and did a great job cleaning my refrigerator. I found Mandy a delight to deal with. She is professional, maintains high work standards and charges a fair price. Her associates were also very nice and extremely hard-working. All three worked to make sure I was satisfied with their service. Mandy brought all the cleaning supplies she needed for my deep clean. I provided a vacuum, which is what I expected. Mandy's cleaning crew has worked for me for three months. I am every cleaning person's nightmare. I have a 4 story victorian brownstone and I'm very particular. Mandy was very careful to understand exactly what I wanted her to do and what my expectations were and she always worked very hard to satisfy me. At the end of the job we would walk around and she would find things not to her liking that I had not noticed. She makes a lot of demands on her crew to work carefully and efficiently. She and I reached a very comfortable agreement about how to tackle my very complicated house and I was always satisfied with the work she did in the time that was allotted. I recently moved into a 2400 sq foot two story brownstone in Brooklyn that had been virtually abandoned by the previous owner. The floors were covered in dust and grime, and on top of that, we'd done some construction in the kitchen, so there was plaster dust coating everything. Mandy and her excellent team came in, and I knew right away that I was in capable hands. They worked tirelessly all day to scrub down every surface, nook and cranny. She came equipped with everything other than brooms, which I provided. She arrived with a positive, can-do attitude in the morning, and made me feel positive that I was in good hands. I certainly was - the house is now as clean as can be. The landlord was not willing to put any money into cleaning the house as he's planning on gutting it in a few years, so I was nervous about the cost it would take to get it into a habitable state. But Mandy not only did an amazing job, she charged me a very fair and reasonable amount.
