I contacted Go Green about two small electrical issues-- no chandleier installation or kitchen rewiring here. But just because a task is small doesn't minimize the value of having it resolved, and done well. Small problems are VERY important to the people who have them! My work has used Go Green for years to do electric through our offices. I called on a Friday and was able to get an appointment for a quote the next day, along with the work done at my home. I interviewed 3 different electricians and of all of them Steve was the only one to come out and tell me like it is. There was no upselling, no misleading on pricing, and a deep understanding of next steps and pitfalls I was going to run into like SMUD telling me to relocate my electric panel, which he knew was coming. When the inevitably did tell me to move my panel due to a now covered patio, he had the backup plan ready to go. He did try to argue with them to keep the panel where it is, and also suggested better options than they wanted to do. For the record their idiotic suggestion was to move the mast to the opposite side of the house which they claim was easiest for them to access and then the power lines would run down the middle of my backyard... pure ideocracy. Steve made sure we kept the electric panel on the far side of the house so the wires are out of the way, and he did so in a way that made sense for them, that it was cheaper for them to use what they have and that he would build out a line that meets their height and roof requirements but that also worked best for the layout of the house. He did exactly that and I'm so grateful. My old zinsco panel was barely hanging on by a thread and was a rats nest of wires once the cover plate was removed. Steve came in and made that new panel look clean and professional and best of all he kept my and SMUDs cost down by finding the best way to accommodate the needs of SMUD and my budget. He broke up the work into a few trips which left me without power for the shortest amount of time possible. That kind of attention to detail stands out to me as a customer first perspective that is not common in the trades these days. To wrap it up, he put in the extra work to do right by me, he did quality work, didn't charge extra for troubleshooting my old electric with weird issues, and best of all he's a stand up guy. Called them to come install a NEMA 14-50 outlet for me to charge my car with, and I am very pleased with the service! Steve was amazing, assesses the job, informed me there was probably already something to do what I was asking, meaning the job would cost less and he could do it right away! He was a pleasure to talk to, though my constant chatting probably slowed him down a bit. He got me all taken care of, job completed, and even expressed concern for the charger I would be using for the car, as he said it looks like it wouldn't support 50 amps too well, looked too thin. We found the charger I want to use only runs max 32amps, and he began to say we probably didn't need to go with a 50 amp like I'd wanted, could do less and save a bit. But, I told him I'd like to be future proofed and go with the 50. I genuinely appreciate his concern though and going the extra mile to make sure I knew what I was getting and wasn't unknowingly going overboard. Great service, from an awesome guy! Go green was a huge help over the weekend. Due to a worn power line going to our house half of the breaker was over powered. In an attempt to change a dimmer in the house I shorted out a LOT of stuff. Steve was able to come over within an hour on a Saturday which is reason alone to give 5 stars. Prices were kind of expensive but that's what you get when you need emergency services. Steve was able to get the house running again and got SMUD to come out and address the power line. My experience with Go Green was amazing from the get-go! I needed 5 old hardwired smoke detectors replaced as well as some troubleshooting done on two exterior lights. When I called, I spoke with Masella, who was so incredibly nice and willing to work with me on scheduling as soon as possible, due to an impending inspection I was preparing for (reason for urgent smoke detector replacement). Steve showed up at the scheduled day and time. He was quick in diagnosing the issues with the "trouble lights" and when we discovered that I had inadvertently purchased to smoke detectors that were battery operated instead of hardwired, he was kind enough to give me a few minutes to run back to Home Depot and exchange them, rather than having to schedule a new appointment. Once all 5 detectors were replaced, he tested them all and made sure that everything was working properly and there were no random "false alarms" before leaving. I installed a gate opener at my house and had problems with it shorting out from day one. Instead of continuing to fight it I bought a new one and instead of installing it myself I hired Go Green Electric to do the electrical hookup to make sure it was done right. The first time I opened the gate it stopped and hasn't worked since. Steve came out and after looking at it told it wasn't his problem and I was on my own to deal with the manufacturer. It is clearly an electrical problem and if he wasn't qualified to install a gate opener he should have told me in the first place. I wouldn't hire him to do any work that might have something go wrong which pretty much covers any electrical work. read more

Called Steve this morning to fix 6 wall switches, which are now working perfectly. I was happily surprised that he could come today, since these switches operate lights & ceiling fans in three rooms & I expected I'd have to wait a couple weeks for "heat relief"!!
