I recently moved to North Fort Myers from Los Angeles and needed help selecting appropriate…read moreflowers, shrubs and trees for a complete landscape makeover at my new home. After spending time at the two home improvement big box stores meeting nice people with little to no knowledge about landscaping, Scott's Landscape Nursery popped up on my Google homepage and offered free consultation with a KNOWLEDGEABLE. FRIENDLY and EXTREMELY HELPFUL staff member so I signed up for a consult on their website. TIFFANY and MARY were THE BEST and spent a very unrushed, informative hour with me explaining what plants flower seasonally and year round, which ones attract butterflies, which shrubs and palm trees grow fast and which ones require little maintenance, and the advantages of using pine bark mini nuggets over any other ground cover. PRICING WAS THE SAME OR LESS THAN what the big box stores charge and the nursery's plants, shrubs and trees were much healthier looking than anything I saw at the other places. DO shop locally at Scott's Landscape Nursery and make sure you ask for TIFFANY or MARY! You will be getting better products, saving money and meeting two of the nicest, knowledgeable landscapers who can offer excellent recommendations and have you leaving feeling great about your purchase.

According to their website "we carry plants, garden supplies, books, gifts, and locally made items. Maximizing the enjoyment of life spaces through nature, imagination and thrift." Rick Molek is the owner of Thrifty Garden and he opened this micro-nursery in January of 2018. In addition to the gifts and plant supplies, Molek offers workshops on raising houseplants and also offers a houseplant hospital by appointment. Houseplants are a great choice for novice gardeners when Florida's temperatures start to soar the 90's. Thrifty Garden offers many different types of houseplants in the shop, and prices are affordable so you can flex your green thumb with minimal risk. They have offered in-person classes on plant care ever since the shop opened and with the pandemic they added online and phone coaching too. Don't forget that they offer beer and wine too. Now that is the kind of gardening that anyone can get behind. Check out their selection of raw honey and naughty garden gnomes. You can find a list of events on their website.

I think it is a great place to support and promote local fellows. They also sell cold beer, we had a couple while we were waiting for our table over at Bullig and the lady at the front is the sweetest, she gave me tips on how to take care of ny pothos plant back home. Their patio outside is wonderful to catch a breeze while taking sips on a cold beer.

If u go during a slower time, better chances of being able to get advice/assistance. Have purchased several plants/trees here. R banana trees have done well, mango tree ok and r $300 avocado tree was dead within a year. Selection varies dramatically based on time of year and health of the plants varies even more. Sometimes we go and there r lots of things we want. Other times everything looks pretty sad and like it should b on clearance, especially as the weather warms up. I appreciate that they will order in specific plants upon request. In fact, they were the only nursery who was able to successfully order in the specific variety of plant we wanted. Others tried but got in the wrong plant & tried to talk us into it. Riverland 1st got the wrong plant so immediately called us & let us know they were fixing it & they did. If ur looking for landscaping, check them out. Oh- they also have a flower shop inside that offers flower arrangements classes.

Easy, flat walking tour (or you can ride in their golf cart). Jane was great as a tour guide, with a wealth of knowledge and an easygoing style of sharing information. What an incredible amount of plants here ! While their focus is more on edible plants and plantings, there was more than enough for people interested in colorful or blooming plants and trees. Beautiful setting, like walking through a tropical arboretum, lush and tropical. We were given samples of probably a dozen leaves to eat or smell through our tour. It really opened my eyes to trying to plant a few things that I hadn't considered before. There's also a small gift shop with some unique items as well as a nursery/garden center with some of the many plants that we had seen on our tour. Nice variety and decent prices !
