Printed menu from the soft opening
    Amy E.

Four stars for the current "soft opening" of the new Fort Myers location of Go Pita. I went in with one other person to not only check out the prices, but to purchase a lunch to share. We walked in to a clean location, as they are still so new, the artwork is not all hung up (but some looked like they were for sale). The staff were very friendly but unsure of deviations from the menu. There are a few two top tables inside as well as a few outside the building to be able to be able to enjoy a healthy meal in the Florida sun. We were looking for a Greek Salad to be turned into two pita sandwiches (/ pockets). The staff said it is not on the menu and cannot be made. Looking over the rest of the menu, the prices of everything seems comparable to places we've been in, and from the way things were lined up behind the counter, it seemed cooked and ready to be made into what type of (pita, bowl) you were looking for. We were going to just purchase the salad and asked for a pita, to which we were told "the pita is a side item" (costing extra). We started to leave when the owner was summoned. He and his wife were so cordial and aimed to please us. We ended up purchasing a lovely fresh Greek Salad (the pickled onions are a true stand out) and were given a fresh off the griddle (aka warmed) pita. We were also offered a sample of tzatziki sauce as well as a sample of hummus. The Greek dressing was also in a sample cup, as to not empower or drown the salad. After completing the transaction, we thanked the staff and owners for the conversations and meal, and wished them the best of luck, in this, their second location. Conventionally located at the corner of College Parkway and Winkler Road, we can certainly see how it would be an easy stop for a quick lunch.

    Greek Salad with 4 ounces Baaf/Lamb Meat - 2

Pricey For What It Is Still in pursuit of good Greek food in the Ft. Myers area, we stopped at Go Pita based on other reviews we read. Wanting to go a little lighter for lunch, we both ordered Greek salads ($10.49) and added 4 ounces of Beef/Lamb gyro meat for an additional $4.99, totaling $30.96 for the salads. We also ordered 2 Falafel for $3.49. The salads were cold and crisp comprised of chopped romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta cheese, pickled red onions, chick peas, Kalamata olives, pepperoncinis, pita chips and a side of dressing. The gyro meat was added to the salads out of a container, but looked like it was just cut off the spit. The salad components were cold and crisp and the pickled onions were a nice change. The meat was not what we expected. We found that the gyro meat lacked garlic and was bland. Two small Falafel at that price is a crime. It's ground chick peas with herbs and spices, consumed in two small bites. Let's top the visit off with a fountain soda at $3.49. Just over $40 for a salad lunch. We will not go back.

The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the intoxicating aroma of Mediterranean spices--warm garlic, herbs, and fragrant seasonings that awakened my senses and excited my taste buds for what was to come. I ordered the Kufta Lamb Kabab served over basmati rice, along with a salad, a side of babaganoj, and pita bread. The lamb kabab was heavenly--succulent pieces of tender lamb infused with fragrant Mediterranean spices, creating a perfect balance of savory, smoky, and slightly earthy flavors. Each bite was incredibly flavorful and melted in my mouth. Everything about The Kabab Spot is fantastic. The food is consistently delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. It's the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. If you enjoy Mediterranean cuisine, I highly recommend trying The Kabab Spot. This wasn't my first visit, and after another wonderful meal, I can say with certainty that it certainly won't be my last!

It was early and there was only one other table seated when we arrived. We were curious about the fried banana pepper and ordered it as an appetizer. Friend ordered the chicken and salad and I ordered a sausage sandwich (served with peppers and onions in a pita) and rice. The fried pepper was delicious, if a bit overpriced. It was good but I'm not sure I'll order it again based on the price. The chicken and salad was, as usual, really good with being large enough to take some home for another meal. The sausage was really good with an unusual flavor, but extremely small (3" or so). The rice was just rice. Of course, we'll go back. I'll stick with the salads, probably.

Everything we tried was awesome, but we really went crazy and ordered the "Greek chow mein" and it did not disappoint. The best way to describe it, it is like a Greek fajita, loaded with gyro meat, seasoning, and tons of flavor. It was creative, satisfying, and completely delicious. The food felt generous (the portion was huge for the chow mein), comforting, and thoughtfully prepared, and every bite just worked. This is the kind of place where you order something a little different and feel rewarded for it. If you're craving Greek food, Nomiki's is a must. Easy five stars and a place I'd happily return to without hesitation.
