I saw that they had a social where they took shawarma, wrapped it in thins pita bread/ or naan bread, I forgot and basically made it a middle eastern burrito that was crunchy on the outside and oh so delicious on the inside. It was my wife, myself and our friend. We ordered three. It was a drink, fries and the shawarma. The food was insane and that's why it has 3 stars. If the food was bad, it would have one. So why only 3? No prices, I asked to pay before I got the food and they said, "don't worry. Eat first then pay." So we did. We had no idea that for 3 meals, it would be $73 or so dollars! My coworker and I were in town for a conference and looking for somewhere to eat before driving back down to Miami. We found the kebab spot and we were glad we did. We walked in and ordered at the counter and then found some seating outside. I ordered the Gyro with fries. I always love when fries come seasoned and these did. The Gyro was delicious. Unfortunately not even the salad had enough of the citrus flavor expected in fattoush. The hummus needed salt. The garlic sauce tasted sour. I paid 14$ just for the one small cup of lentil soup which was more of a lentil puree. The shawarma had barely any flavor. The lamb kafta was probably the best of the proteins. I went to checkout the Kabab Spot restaurant and Hookah bar after work one day. I ordered a small order of their Hummus and I got a bottle of water. I sat outside on their patio and smoked a Kiwi flavored Hookah. The owner, Aladdin, came out to see how I was and introduced himself and then brought me more pita bread for my hummus and he also brought out some Turkish Salsa for me to try with the hummus. Compared to other middle eastern food in the area, this is the most authentic I have found. Pricing is typical for the area. I would not eat inside here as they had no heat so it was freezing in the winter. The service was okay but not great. The food was what stole the show though. Great pitas, meats, hummus and salad. Everyone who came in was reminded that they are "cash only but we have an ATM." Looking over the huge menu, my eyes landed on the shawarma platter. Mom chose a salad with stuffed grape leaves. My husband said the yellow rice was bland and the appetizer was over cooked. I was disappointed in the Tahini as well. We lucked into Kabab Village after a restaurant we were set to go to was closed for vacation. I've had a good amount of Arabic food in the NY/NJ area, Kabab Village would fit right in! Our waitress was friendly and showed a great deal of pride in their food. I selected the mixed grill platter of lamb, chicken, and beef over rice. It came with a nice garlic dipping sauce. Each meat was tender and flavorful. The rice was tasty and had nice crunch from some almonds. We also enjoyed the hummus, baba ganoush, and stuffed grape leaves.
