A very fast and easy meal that we enjoyed. The side salad was large and full of feta cheese. Both the rice both and the platter came as a large portion and we thought the chicken and gyro meat were equally good. Nothing was too greasy, including the fries. This is an order at the counter and they bring it to your table variety of restaurant. They've got plenty of table seating on the patio (unfortunately with a view of the parking lot). Good Greek Favorites Located in a very large strip mall, this eatery serves up some pretty good Greek food. There is no inside seating - it's out in front of the store. There is a roof overhead and it looks like a curtain they can pull down if it's blowing rain. For a small place, they have many menu items which can be viewed on their website and on an old style menu board above the counter. We had the standard Greek Gyro which is marinated seasoned lamb and beef, cut off the spit ($12.25). Warm pita filled with a nice portion of the meat with seasoned raw onions and sliced tomatoes. I think the Tzatziki sauce came in a small side cup. The sandwich comes with very tasty fries which also have Greek seasoning on them. Add a Fountain Drink ($2.75). Making it impossible to wrap it around and eat it if you picked it up. Had to just use fork to eat it. The service was fine as you order at the front desk and they bring it to your table. 3 things about this place: 1. It's a small place that's in Downtown Cape Coral and I wanna say it's family owned. Even before walking inside the place, 2 ladies greeted with a smile. You order inside and sit outside with a number and they bring the food to you. 2. Falafel appetizer, The Greek Spot Gyro, and Chicken Gyro were ordered. The falafel tasted fantastic and hot/crispy and the pita was warm and soft. The Chicken Gyro was okay but The Greek Spot Gyro; WOW. 3. The Greek Spot Gyro was the best one I have had in a while and when the gyro came out, it was extremely hot and couldn't even hold it for a while to eat. For the price, they fill the inside more than you expect. Very satisfied with the taste. Overall, I highly highly recommend this place for gyros and I for sure will be back soon to get it again. TLDR: Very good food and reasonable prices. Casual setting. We met our friend Dawne F here for lunch today. She always chooses great places for us to meet up at... The small restaurant has a couple tiny tables inside and the other tables were taken by staff. Luckily, the outside patio is where you should sit if dining in -- it's covered and there is a fan. They do a lot of takeout here, however, too. You order and pay at the counter and they bring your food out to you when it's ready. The standing cooler has drinks -- including some Greek ones and Pepsi products -- from which you can help yourself. Portions were quite large and the ingredients were top notch. And it didn't take very long from the time we ordered to when we received our food, either. I got their horiatiki salad which is a Greek salad with no lettuce. I requested no onions either. The bowl of salad had tons of fresh, ripe, red chopped chunky tomatoes, cucumber slices, green bell peppers, black kalamata olives and a nice square chunk of feta cheese. The house dressing on it was a light oregano vinaigrette. I added grilled chicken. The perfectly grilled and seasoned meat came on a separate plate on the side along with some pita wedges. It all was wonderful. The portion was so large that I took half home (for dinner). My husband had their Greek salad and added gyro meat -- theirs is a combo beef and lamb version. He also liked his salad and agreed the portion was too big to eat in one sitting. Our friend had their gyro wrap -- another large portion -- that came with a side of fries. We didn't get to try their desserts, but they have a number of the traditional ones -- including baklava. Have a feeling that no matter what you order from here, you can't go wrong. It's been 8 months since we were here last. The pandemic has affected many places and sadly, quality has taken a hit in many many good restaurants. Yesterday we got a wild hair and wanted to have our favorite place in all of Cape Coral and thankfully, they not only look super busy BUT their quality has not dropped at all! They packed each Gyro with pork and lamb and the fries were amazing. The only issue I had, and if probably was because it was so loud, is that I asked for extra sauce on the side and they didn't do it. Even the desserts, a tiramisu baklava and a red velvet cheesecake were amazing. Sweet, filling and delicious would be an understatement for their deserts. You have to try it yourself. So, in my long story short review, The Greek Spot has endured the pandemic and is still THE PLACE TO GO for gyros in Lee County. Do yourself a favor and come here. You will love it read more

I liked this so much that I might actually go back. When you're crushing for more and more new businesses to review, spending a meal on the same place is a thing. I got the greek salad today with a side of beef gyro and it was a massive portion. Lots of stuff in the salad, a full portion of sliced beef shawarma and a whole pita cut into bits. And all that for around $12 or so. Sadly, I was so hungry that I dug into it before taking the picture and for that I apologize. I can assure you that I'll be back and will remember next time. It was about a month ago when I decided to check this place out. After about a week of gorging on seafood, I needed to switch it up a bit. I figured a tradional gyro and some hummus would be just the thing. I was quite happy with the gyro - the meat was tasty and the portion size was very good. The accompanying fries were ok. I am not big on fries so I can't hold that against anyone - you'll have to decide for yourself if they are worthy. I would order the gyro again...and again...but hold the fries. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the hummus. It was thick and the flavor that I wanted wasn't there. I was hoping for something creamier, perhaps with more tahini and olive oil. I probably would have enjoyed the Greek salad more. There are some other tasty looking options on the menu that I wish I could have tried...I won't mention any names baklava cheesecake...falafel... New to Cape so we are trying out a variety of places and The Greek Spot is a definite if you are looking for delicious Greek food! Love the outdoor seating area as this is a busy and bustling part of town. We opted for the saganaki, spanakopita and the chicken souvlaki pita with their seasoned fries. We had our dog with us that evening and the employee was so friendly and accommodating. She not only brought out a bowl of water for him, she brought a small cup of gyros meat for him too! That was so kind and of course our pup enjoyed a few bites of that. The food was served quickly and it did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious flaming cheese ( and yes they light it up and yell out, " OPA!" and we were all surprised it stayed lit for awhile on a breezy evening! I loved the spinach pie- it's one of my absolute favorites. Then the chicken kabobs, marinated and tender with fresh tzatziki sauce. Fantastic family ran restaurant. Friendly staff and a nice place to enjoy a gyro outside. We had the Greek Spot gyro, one with fries and the other with a Greek salad ($4 extra charge instead of fries). The two-hand to eat gyro was loaded with freshly shaved meat, onions, lettuce, tomato with plenty of a very tasty tzatziki sauce. The fries came fresh from the fryer and the salad was large enough for two to share that came with a cup of well seasoned Greek dressing. Also, we took home a slice of homemade cheese cake(very tasty) and two pieces of some of the best baklava we have had. Just few tables inside but plenty of tables outside. In anticipation of Tropical Storm, Eta, approaching South Florida, we decided to drive to Cape Coral to test taste the new Greek Spot before the expecting heavy downpour in next few days. Greek Spot opened about a month ago on the former Mom's restaurant inside the Big Johns Plaza along the Cape Coral Parkway East. You will need to park your car in the huge back parking lot. It has 6 tables on the outside and two small tables inside. Greek Spot has a limited menu but this is an advantage since they served the best in what they made! The main fare are gyros (Greek Spot Gyro - seasoned lamb and beef, pork, chicken gyro, Souvlaki or Philly cheese steak, Greek Spot burger or cheeseburger. What made Greek Spot unique is they serve appetizer like Saganaki or flaming cheese, Spanakopita or spinach pie, olive and cheese plate and Greek fries. With warm pita, you can have it with hummus, or olive tapenade hummus, red pepper hummus, or tzatziki. We opted to sit inside due to weather condition. We started our meal with a Saganaki. As server ignited the liquor, we exclaimed 'Opa!' to have a fast and fun cheese dish on a chilly night. The cheese was nicely brown and melt but forgot to ask the server what kind of cheese was used! We shared the Village salad or (Horiatiki) and a Greek Spot Gyro. The salad is made with fresh ingredients; tomato, onions, cucumbers, peppers, olives and Feta cheese. They are appetizing and refreshing. The gyro is moist, juicy, flavorful and perfectly cooked! This gyro is the best I tasted in US and Greece! The portion is huge so we took some salad and gyro home. The Greek Spot has been a favorite of ours for a while. I (JH) keep attempting to order new things to try, but the gyro is consistent and perfect every time! My wife usually gets the gyro fries the they're just as reliable and delicious. The consistency of their food is an underrated aspect, in my opinion. They manage to just nail the balance of meat, tomatoes, onions and tzatziki sauce in an ideal combo. This was my (JD) first time there and it definitely will not be my last. Everything about the gyro was perfect. It was loaded with meat. The ratio of toppings to meat was spot on. The tzatziki was delicious. I'm not a fan of cucumbers, so the way they are prepped for tzatziki makes it or breaks it for me. I could have eaten it by the spoonful. Did I mention how packed full of stuff their gyro is? Seriously, give them a try. It's important to note they have just a few small tables inside and some outdoor seating. It wouldn't be bad to get it as takeout. It will travel well. YUMMERS! So this new addition to our city is most welcomed and needed. The place is very cute with a nice amount of outdoor seating. Very clean as well. The people, both owners and workers, were so nice and inviting as well. The Greek music in the background was a nice touch. As for the food, YUM. The taste was great, but what was striking was how large the portions were. You will go home full, guaranteed. We had the spanakopita first. Perfectly crisp and seasoned well. A little more feta would have been good for me. I love feta. The gyro was the star of the show. A mountain of meat on a pillow of pita. Add their homemade tzatziki sauce and it was a total win. We have been eating lunch with these folks since they opened. While their food has been good, the ambiance has gotten worse based on some of what they do and something they don't control. First, what I saw them doing was just weird. Filling the tyzeki (sp) cups at the table right in front of the solo bathroom just doesn't sit well with me. Out of their control is the dude who works at a business a few doors down who is a chain smoker on the sidewalk.
