I had a terrible experience as a child preventing me from seeking proper dental care. When I finally got the nerve to call, I was able to ask questions surrounding my anxiety and immediately felt at ease. I was able to get in for an emergency appointment the following week and scheduled a 3 hour appointment for 4 weeks later to clean my teeth and fix my broken tooth. My anxiety kicked in when I arrived and sat in the parking lot. I am so thankful I went in. I have never felt so comfortable in a dental office. The entire staff is amazing, but Rosie is the absolute best! She took care of me on both appointments and made sure I was comfortable throughout the process of deep cleaning and fixing my broken tooth. I took the option of being knocked out for the procedure. The price was reasonable and can be done at their office which is not common. For the first time in my life, I look forward to going to the dentist. I have more work ahead and I cannot wait to go (yes, this must sound crazy). I love them so much I made an appointment for my husband and brother to pay them a visit. Oops, they said...we made a mistake! Then they said they could do her fillings in one appointment. When we got there they only did two saying they didn't know what she was going to present. What? We all looked at the x-rays. is this your first time doing a cavity? Not. They knew exactly what she was presenting with. Then wanted us to make numerous other appointments. Why didn't they just tell me we needed several appointments from the get go? Office staff are very unprofessional and argumentative. The dentist won't even talk to you. Sends someone else out to do it. I will never go back to this office. Extremely dissatisfied.

I've had some less than stellar hygienists who have carelessly cleaned my teeth and end up poking me in the process, and then the chatty cathy who turns a teeth cleaning into a an hour long therapy session. In my experience having my teeth filled and cleaned I've been exceptionally pleased with the team at this office. I had a very eaten up molar that the Dr. basically built from scratch... saving me from a root canal! Despite their nitrous not working on the day I came in, I was able to sit through the procedure without my usual anxiety and stress. A year later and and I'm still very pleased with the results. I…read moreread tooth extraction techniques on the internet and I found that he did not follow any NORMAL extraction guidelines.He did not even TRY to loosen the tooth as mentioned in the ADA manual. I truly believe he intentionally snapped the root to collect more money from medi-cal for a root extraction .....that or he is a sadist. I have had 7 other teeth extracted some by other dentists at this clinic and I have never had an experience like this one. I could have done a better job using a back-hoe! I have done a better when I once pulled one of my own teeth with a pair of pliers. If you go to Mendo Clinic dont let this guy jerk you around. Beware !!

The classic 60's architecture and the awesome decor make it a very warm and comfortable place to be. Definitely coolest dentist office I have ever been to. I have no anxiety with dentistry but I know a lot of people do, I think the mood and vibe here is very relaxing to calm any nervousness. They accept Delta Dental PPO as well. Highly recommend!

I was a new patient, I came in for a cleaning but he would not clean my teeth unless I agreed to X-…read morerays; he took a full mouth over and over; filled me with radiation; aimed the camera at my eyes "to get a better shot and because that's how he does it". He looks very very old but does the cleaning himself; pulled my hair several times because he put his armpit on the top of my head to keep me still I suppose. He loves birds and wanted to know if I liked birds; I prefer furry animals but I was afraid he would get upset if I said so; I felt intimidated by his staff woman who stood over me; gave me a long document to sign and would not move; stood over me, rushed me to sign, said it was necessary to have my signature and hurried me to sign a la Gestapo method. To this day I don't know what I signed. I get nervous going to a dentist but this was intimidating, I left confused and kind of upset; like "what just happened?".

I live in Eureka, CA. The one and only oral surgeon in Eureka could not get me in for 2 months. There is no way I could wait. My regular dentist recommended the office of Dr. Steven R Boettger and Dr. William K Tom in Ukiah CA. Ukiah is a bit of a drive from Eureka but I could get an appointment is less than a week instead if waiting for 2 months. Dr. Tom is so wonderful! His staff is most excellent too. Dr. Tom, my regular dentist, and my thoracic surgeon and the only 3 medical people ever who engendered trust in me and put me at ease immediately like they do. I don't know how they manage that but it is a rare skill. I especially liked the way Dr. Tom explained everything thoroughly and made sure that all my questions were answered. He did not talk down to me as some dentists and doctors tend to do. Instead, he talked to me as an intelligent person. Dr. Tom did an excellent job on the extraction. I seem to be healing well although the work was only yesterday. I am so pleased with Dr. Tom that I will go back to him if i decide to have dental implants. Driving from Eureka to Ukiah is well worth the drive and the extra expenses of travel for the A+++ oral surgery and outstanding staff. I enthusiastically recommend Dr. Tom to anyone who needs his services.

My family has had the misfortune to need teeth extracted 4 times in the past 10 years. Dr. Boettger is great as are is his office staff and assistants. He is very professional and follows up your extraction with a call to check up on you late afternoon/early evening. Both my teen age daughter and I have had wisdom and not so wisdom teeth extracted sometimes under anesthesia and sometimes with only a local. No problemo and kind professional care.
