The initial desk…read morestaff were kind and polite to him but when he met the Dr. in the chair, he said her demeanor was condescending and rude. When she told him about the crown he tried to explain that he could not afford that, but she try to patch the tooth in the meanwhile. She refused and continued to be very rude to him, so he stood up and left. Additionally, he said that it took about 30 minutes or more for the dental assistant to take his x-rays, something that should be able to be accomplished in just a few minutes, because she kept messing up with the antiquated equipment. My husband's appointment had nothing to do with me,I've been seen once before and while my experience was not like my husband's, I did note that the same Dr. was rude. I called the other day to make an appointment for myself and was told that both my husband and myself were no longer welcome there as patients and that a letter had been sent a "year ago" of such, which we never received. While I was trying to understand what was happening, with a tooth ache, and explaining I had never been rude to anyone there ever and why was I being kicked out for nothing. The staff, the office manager and the Dr immediately started yelling at me and when I expressed that they were being rude to me, they hung up on me. As a side note, all of their equipment is antiquated and takes a long time to use and warm up. I do not recommend this dentist to anyone.

She is a really great, extremely reliable dentist (wonderful, hyper detail oriented, ultra ultra conscientious--and friendly and kind). Recently Dr Elizabether Ashiku did me a great service. She saved my tooth when a negligent exam from a Berkeley dentist (holly wieber) caused me to almost lose that tooth. I could tell something was off when I saw doctor weiber and so I went to get a 2nd opinion from Dr Ashiku because she's so flawlessly reliable. I sat in the dental chair for a visit that stretched to three hours as Dr Ashiku valiantly tried to clean up the mess dr wieber had left behind. She kept saying "I think we can save the tooth," and "You may have to have a root canal; lets see what we can do." She did save my tooth and after a vitality test my tooth is still okay, three months after the initial crisis. Dr Ashiku is extremely alert, informed, and conscientious. Also she makes me feel genuinely valued and liked. It's often been quite inconvenient for me to have to schedule dental appointments in Ukiah though I live in Berkeley, but I think that so long as I can travel to Ukiah, I will continue to see Dr Ashiku, even if a new dentist I found in Berk turns out to be pretty good. Dr Ashiku is about as fastidiously reliable a dentist as you will ever find. My husband recommended her to me and she's been taking excellent care of our teeth for years. After a long journey through multiple endodontists, I finally found my dental savior in Dr. Grove…read more What I appreciate most about him is his alternative approach to dentistry, specifically his use of oxygen/ozone therapy. Twice now I've come to Dr. Grove with painful toothaches, and each time he's been able to treat the issue without resorting to extraction or root canal, which was the recommendation from other endodontists I had visited. Instead, he used oxygen/ozone therapy to get rid of the pain without invasive surgery. Whereas other endodontists I've been to seem solely focused on profit, Dr. Grove genuinely cares about providing the best treatment for his patients. He takes the time to understand the root cause of the problem and explores alternative solutions that can address the issue effectively without unnecessary procedures. If you're tired of the cookie-cutter approach of many dental specialists who are quick to recommend extraction or root canal, I highly recommend making an appointment with Dr. Grove. His alternative, holistic methods have been a game changer for me, and I'm grateful to have found such a caring and competent endodontist. 5 stars all the way!

It turned out that not only is Dr. Grove a skilled endodontist, but he and his whole staff are extremely nice people. They were warm and professional - and patient! I'll take "skill" over "nice" any day, but it's a giant bonus when you get both! We never knew that a root canal can actually be painless! We're glad it's over, but if we ever need another root canal, we will go, "fear-free" back to Dr. Grove.

Was having increasing pain, called around and this was the only office that could fit me in. Did…read morenot see Dr. Ortega, but did see new DDS Dr. Kang. Dr. Kang was excellent. Diagnosed the problem that previous DDS missed/dismissed (and also could attend to for 2 weeks). Tech and treatment process was basically painless. I was educated about the issue, treatment options, prevention, and long term outlook. I think this office is trustworthy. competent, and is highly recommended.
