REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE I arrived at 6:30pm its supposed to closed at 7:00pm. I ask to eat inside and the cashier just told me they're about to live and they'll give me my order to go, even i said I want to eat there, "las empanadas" are REALLY TINY and the "papitas" TOO. I was so excited to eat at an authentic Venezuelan Restaurant. Realized when I got there it was more of a fast food place located in an L shape strip mall. The young lady at the counter tried to be nice but really wasn't. We ordered a patacón with pork. It took a while but it was worth the wait! It was good! As we waited, there were some orders being picked up. The place has high tops and bar stools. Fits about 24 people comfortably. No was no one seated. read more

The food is unfortunately very awful at this restaurant. The arepas they served us were the thinnest, smallest disks and were deep-fried, smothered in a pool of sauce with very little filling. Real arepas are not like that at all, so I was baffled, to say the least. The empanadas at this place were small and covered in grease. I don't know why they didn't at least pat the grease off before serving. They also had barely any items on the menu available. The service was not good nor professional. Very poor customer service and the employees there seemed kind of shady to be quite honest :( read more

Ordered 100 tequeños, pastelitos and empanadas for a reunion and I was surprised how amazingly good everything was. When I picked up the order they were ready and hot. When I tried each of them they were delicious. It is hard to decide which one was better. The tequeños were cook just right with the right amount of cheese inside and the empanadas were just out of this world. The chicken pastelitos were wonderful. The patacón verde with mechada meat is spectacular. Not greasy and very flavorful at a great price. The cheese appetizers are delicious and the pumpkin soup is well made and balanced. We just discovered this hidden place behind a Chevron gas station. Our family loves the food and has become a favorite for lunch pickup. We are becoming regulars. Great Value read more

Can not believe the rudeness of the people that work here! I called to confirm my delivery and asked the guy who answered the phone on Saturday, Sept 15 at 10:15am if he spoke English and he straight hung up on me! Called again and said sorry we may have gotten disconnected, and this asshole hangs up again! Called for the 3rd time and asked if he can hear me and if he spoke English, he said NO and hung up for the 3rd time! Apparently this company can't hire any decent people with common sense customer service skills. I don't go around rolling my eyes or look at you up or down because you don't speak English. This is the MAIN reason I hate the people here in Miami! Obviously these idiots have a chip on their shoulder and unfortunately for me, I have to deal with them for the time being until I get the fuck out of here! read more

First and foremost the traditional Venezuelan food is good, I will not deny this. Although the front staff who are there attending customers on busy weekends are needless to say airheads. They do not understand a queue when orders are placed and give orders out to anyone who bothers them to get the order first, it was incredibly unreasonable to wait 50 minutes for 12 pastelitos to go when other patrons with a whole family come way after I had ordered to eat in, they eat, drink and burp there way to leaving and I still haven't received my order. What made the experience even more unusual is that the cook had to come and advise me he needs to cook more pastels that it would taker another 5-10 minutes, I laughed at this gesture because its not his responsibility, the front of the house should have either informed me of this massive delay (40 minutes already) or replace it with an available item. He did not take it lightly, he threatened me by saying the next time I laugh in his face he would do something about it, I laughed again and asked him if he was seriously threatening me for pastelitos, he said I had only been waiting 40 minutes and not an hour. Various others guest's waiting for food noted this, laughed and told the cook to leave because it was a stupid remark. Not 2 minutes later I had my order, checked everything prior. Not one apology from the staff nor the cook. Quite frankly the cook looked upset prior to our exchange, particularly at the front staff. *Also the place is not a "Gourmet" Restaurant, there are a few high table and chairs in a tiny location with Gaita Music playing all day long at full blast. So IDK, maybe a Gochon Cafeteria would be a better name. There is nothing Gourmet about your location nor your service. read more

This great fast fried food specifically from Maracaibo Venezuela. The taste is original and the garlic and cilantro mayo is perfect. We call at 12:45pm January 1st barely one hour before closing. We were craving for grease comfort food after a fun night of drinking and celebrating. We ordered and the food came fast and freshly made. The people on the phone were very courteous and prompt. The manager was very disrespectful and rude to start off with, nonetheless screaming abruptly at his own employees. I called in and took 10 minutes to place an order that should've taken 2 minutes at most, when I got there the food took an extra 30 minutes longer! Then he didn't have fries that I placed my order with and didn't want to give me my money back nor replace it with something that costed an extra 25 cents for not having my fries. Great Venezuelan food! Patacones and Arepas are a must try! Pastelitos and Empanadas are at great prices and have great flavor. Postmates/uber eats is more expensive for certain things I would try calling to see if delivery/pick up might be better option. They are busy on weekends so call ahead if you have a big order because you may have to wait at least 30-40 minutes for a fresh batch of what you need. read more

The toston sandwich was extremely salty ... I ordered the salad that is advertised on the menu .. which includes egg, tomato, lettuce, and cheese ... they did not include half of those ... when I asked about the rest of the salad they said I had to pay extra for it and that the picture was there because it was a nice picture .. they wouldn't even give me a piece of lemon for the salad.. asked for water n they wanted me to buy a bottle of water instead of giving me a courtesy cup ... very poor service .. not worth it .. read more

Gochon is a mom and pop restaurant that offers Venezuelan fast food at a reasonable price. Compared to most other Venezuelan restaurants like it, it is more in touch with the miami market. If you are in need of eating some good Venezualan food, such as empanadas, arepas, patacones and burgers, and are on a budget its the place to go. Their lower prices dont take anything away from the delicious taste. The place is relatively new, and from what I've seen it already has a consistent group of clientele . The atmosphere is friendly and the service is great. Highly recommend to all. read more

I would like to start off by saying the food compared to other Venezuelan places is good as well as the prices but the service is poor and one who appeared to be the owner was rude. I'm a fan of good food and cheap prices so this review gets a star for each. My first attempt at ordering through eat24, the restaurant had closed before the posted business hours; I waited over an hour before eat24 notified me the restaurant was not responding. I understood they were really new so I didn't make anything of it. I went the next day to let them know and they corrected their info on eat24. The second time I ordered through eat24 during their delivery hours and my order came cold after 1 hour and 13mins. Because the food is good I gave it a 3rd try. 3rd time I ordered again through eat24 (during delivery hours) but I decided to add another item to my order so I called after placing the order on eat24. They informed me they did not have have delivery and canceled my order all together (a call would have been nice but eat24 handled it after the fact). I figured ordering from them is a not a great idea but because the food is good I'll just have to go instead of ordering. I go on a Saturday morning and place an order to go, after the order is placed they get a little rush of people. The people who ordered after my order starts receiving the same food I ordered before I do. When I receive my order a couple items where missing(because they went out to someone's table). I bring this to their attention I am met with an attitude by the owner telling me not to tell his employees what to do. I try to be fair and understanding. People make mistakes, it happens, but showing attitude to a customer is not right. I will continue to go back in hopes that they grow and their service gets better and then I'll adjust my review accordingly but for now they deserve every bit of these 2 stars for good food and prices. read more

Such a pleasant little surprise! We stumbled onto this place while out for a walk one fine evening and decided to give it a try. Nothing fancy about this place and not really visible if your driving on Bird Rd, but the food is what really matters and they've got that down. I'd compare this to Super Arepa (also on Bird) or Doggi's (Coral Way near Brickell), but they offer a few different arepa variations vs the other places. This little place always hits the spot when your in the mood for some good comfort food! read more
