Unfortunately, I really wanted to try this place but couldn't. We arrived with our family and were told there was a 45+ minute wait, despite there being more than five empty tables at the time. We waited about 20 minutes and watched more people leave, to the point where there were easily 10+ empty tables. The host kept saying they were all reserved, which was hard to believe, and his attitude was passive-aggressive and dismissive the entire time. Came in for a Miami Spice lunch on Sunday, and while the restaurant itself is super cute with a large circular bar that adds a fun touch, the food unfortunately didn't quite live up to the setting. The service was okay, and there were definitely a few standouts. The octopus carpaccio was a hit, and the picanha tostones were another favorite. Unfortunately, both of our picanha steaks came out overcooked, which, in my opinion, is a pretty big miss when steak is the star of the plate. The tres leches was good and a nice way to finish the meal. Overall, it was a very okay lunch. Some dishes impressed, others I'd easily skip. We walked into Mordisco in Doral expecting a great lunch. We had heard wonderful things and came highly recommended by a friend. Unfortunately, what followed was a surprisingly disappointing experience -- and one that became harder to justify with every course. The service was slow and disorganized, our sangrias had to be returned, and the mixed ceviche was a very small portion with mostly tiny shrimp and very little fish. Then came the $110 parrillada. We ordered the meat medium, but much of it arrived overcooked and dry. Served on a hot platter, it continued cooking at the table. To make matters worse, it had taken nearly an hour to arrive, so sending it back simply wasn't an option we were willing to endure. The sides -- yuca, tostones, and fries -- were all underwhelming, and the sauces were so limited that we had to ask for more. Water wasn't replenished, and even the basic table service felt neglected. We eventually spoke with the manager, hoping for some acknowledgment of the experience. Instead, we were essentially told that we should have complained sooner. We explained that after waiting nearly an hour for our food, we weren't prepared to wait another hour for a replacement. We were offered complimentary desserts, but unfortunately, the churros were rubbery and seemed reheated, while the tres leches was just average. And then came the bill: nearly $200 for three people -- for lunch. Not dinner. Lunch. At that price, you expect the food, service, and overall experience to feel exceptional. Unfortunately, ours didn't come close. We didn't leave upset because the restaurant was expensive; we left disappointed because the experience simply didn't justify what we paid. We went in with high expectations and left feeling that Mordisco was not worth the price. Sadly, we won't be returning. read more

Mordisco was a great spot. I went for the Miami Spice menu, recommended by a co-worker. The menu is $50 per person. I also got an alcoholic drink called Los Roques. It was a creamy coconut cocktail. It was prepared with a rim of coconut shavings. Delicious! For the appetizer, I got the Ceviche Carnavalero. I gotta admit, to me that was the apex of the meal. The leche de tigre was well balanced, and with the sweet plantains, phenomenal. For the entree, I got the Parrilla Rucio Moro. The meats were cooked to perfection. The chicharron had a fantastic crunch to it. I really enjoyed that. Wasn't a big fan of the boiled yuca. The sauces and tostones it came with were perfect additions to it. And for the dessert I got the Crispy Churros. They were delicious and went great with the Nutella, but they did come out a little cold. The inside is beautiful, especially the bar. My only complaints were that I waited a pretty long time after being seated before someone approached my table, and the other complaint was that the gratuity. I wasn't given the option to choose how much to tip. The gratuity was automatically included. It wasn't a party of 4 or more. It was just me. In total, I spent about $90. I always order it and it never disappoints. They offer great lunch specials that include an appetizer, main course, and dessert. They also have a kids' menu with lots of great options. My daughter loves the chicken nuggets and seasoned fries. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the staff is attentive from the moment you walk in until you leave the restaurant. It is usually busy so if you can make reservations. Definitely a great place to take the family. Every time we go, the service is excellent, and the food is always delicious. This is a wonderful Gem that was recommended by a friend. To be totally honest I was not expecting such a wonder when arriving at the parking lot.. but you'll be surprised. Parking is tough even though it's in a plaza there's limited space so go in with time. We were greeted when arriving and sat within 6 minutes; however I have to note that I didn't like the hostess asking if it was necessary to bring my stroller with me... there's a reason why I brought it in and it's where my baby lies when we're dining. The service was good, we were attended by Jose Alberto. He recommended the best option between two parrillas and was on point when advising about food and beer. We had the parrilla del asador, enough for two adults and a kid. Also we had the fried arepas with suero and nata. Arepas fried: amazing toasty and made to perfection Parrilla del asador: great presentation and amazing taste. Steak cooked as we asked and it comes with a bunch of sides that balance perfectly with the plate. Also comes with chimichurri and guasacaca Beer: cielito lindo: very good artisan flavor, only order if you're into artisan beer. Dessert we had the Venezuelan Nutella marquesa. It was great, a bit pricey for the size but perfect Also I think the juice my son had was expensive, $9 (more than the beer which is not usual) but price for the parrilla and the plates is fair. Not cheap but totally worth it. The music has a perfect volume level to be able to have a conversation and there's also fresh and spacious vibe in the restaurant. Delightful ambiance. The bathroom pathway has neon lights which is very cool. Definitely a good place to either go with family or have a date. To add to the good experience I just say that Manuel, who I believe was the manager also came to check on us and asked how was everything. Very kind.
